I really like how you left the paper in the background there.
Although that was probably more through lazyness than anything... :)
However, I don't like how symmetrical it is.
It's understandable that he'd hold his hands in the same shape as each other.
But his sleeves have identical folds in them
which just doesn't look right to me...

Yeah the hand is the only thing that I copied mirrored and pasted because of lazyness :P
And I wanted to make a background but I made everything 1 layer and then saved so it was very hard to still add a background so I'll leave it this way.
This way it looks cool when you compare the sketch and the colored version :)

ten stop being proud of it now !!! your flash coloring is much better
i tolled you on meny topics that i love our drawings and art and coloring
i too like to color like that sometimes but i think in animation stuff it would be to intense on the eyes...
also your samurai charcter looks exactly like the samuri from dragon ball...
your stuff is half cartoon and half manga really cool

I know my flash coloring is better that is kinda obvious since this is my first time I color it in PS.
And who says I'm gonna use this in animation?
Also you are right about him looking like Ninja from Dragonball his first design (3,4 years ago) was based after him.
But as time passed I maked him more a character of my own and if you compare the two you see many similarity's but also many differences.

Photoshop help Posted January 12th, 2008 in Art

Ok so this is my FIRST picture that I made 100% in photoshop.

Its not finished yet but I can see that if I go on its make it suck.
I started with the hair and the face and I really like the results of it :D
But after that I started on the clothes and they started to look like the photoshop pictures I don't like.
I don't know why but it just doesn't feel as good as the head.
Can someone give me tips on clothes?

I live in Holland.
Does anybody know from which amount f money you need to start paying taxes in Holland?
And how can you sign yourself up as a freelancer?

black money= getting payed under the table

but u earn black money each time u do work that isn't yours to do, at least in belgium and the netherlands,
so if ur not a contracted game developer and are not being payed buy a boss to make those games than u are acualy stealing work from official game developers and when u take away someone else his work then u are working black,

best is to ask a lawyer about it...

Hmmm
I think that would be the case if the sponsor actually owns the games you make and get paid for.
But all he does is put his logo in it and promote it and give you money so he can do that.
I don't think that is the case with official game developers so you are not stealing work from them.

What if you like make a game every month.
Then you would get alot of money every month and it would be like salary.
But is it legal to do it?
Wouldnt it be considered black money by the police?

Response to: Some screenshots movie I'm making. Posted January 5th, 2008 in Art

To be honest
I don't like the style of the drawings.
But I know that if it is funny it will score very high because I know many people DO like the style.

Response to: New Cartoon Series Character Design Posted January 4th, 2008 in Art

I actually prefer the drawing style of the left (except for the head)
It looks more like a comic and is more clear.
The right one looks better but I think the left style has more potential to be better.

Don't be like that.
The paper is fine, surely you know that paper can come like that.
I'm pretty sure I've used some like that recently, anyway.

But yeah, it's really good. I like the way the they look really stylish and unique.
How do you animate stuff drawn on paper? I've been wanting to know that for ages.

If you don't have a light table (like me) then here is how you do it:
-Sketch your character with a pen.
-Finish him with a black fineliner so you the lines are very clear.
-Erase the sketch lines with your eraser
-Put the paper under another paper and make sure you turn your light on.
-You can see through the paper a bit now so sketch the the character again but this time slightly different
-Repeat

The dog took me 9 different pictures

Oh and I did not use an example for the background so the lines could be wrong but thats not the point of the topic.

Wow this actually looks pretty cool

I started it almost a year ago and went looking for a scripter but they all could not do it or had to do other stuff so I worked on it a little bit more and then never looked back at it.
But seeing as how far I got with making the graphics makes want to finish it.

I have found a scripter for it now btw so so you don't have to PM me anymore.

Contact me when you get the chance with the (Flash 8 compatible) .flas. You can email me at lukeben92@sbcglobal.net, AIM me at shirkdeio, PM me, or just post here. Oh yeah, assuming you want me to help you out, and not anyone else.

The graphics look really professional!

I'll wait a bit before I decide who gets to script it because I want it to really work this time so I'm not picking the first one again.
I'll wait and see who else wants to script it and pick the best one.

Response to: Looking for a really good Scripter Posted December 29th, 2007 in Game Development

Sponsorship money goes 50/50 so we will get the same amount of money.
I will submit the game and make the scripter co-author.

The game will be a kind of mix between smash bros. and metal slug, with a comic style to it.
You can create your own soldier and give it a name.

In survival mode you play in the surivor stage and you will fight and army of enemy soldiers until you die.
The more soldiers you killed the more points you get and the higher your final score is.
Ofcourse you will get more points if you make combo's.

In battle mode you fight against 1,2 or 3 different soldiers.
You can set them to easy, medium or hard and you can switch team mode on or off.
You can change the settings to:
Stock:You get ".." lives, the last one standing is the winner
Time:Set the timer to "...", when time runs out,the soldier/team with most points wins.
Maniac:First one to reach "..." kills wins.

In the options you can change the settings of:
Saving
Volume settings
Blood on/off

I was looking back at a huge game I started almost a year ago but never finished because I never found an action scripter who could script it all.
Its would be a waste if I do not finish this game because I think it will be a major hit on the web and will score very good here on newgrounds.
I already made:
Custom Soldier Sprites
Main Menu
Survival Menu
Level 1:Survivor (Level used in Survival Mode)
Level 2:Battlezone

I also made 4 different guns
And things you can change about your soldier (over 5000 different combinations)
I will finish the rest and update older graphics starting next week.
I'm looking for an action scripter who has made good games before and knows how to deal with smooth platformer engine and smart A.I.

Response to: Good or bad game idea? Posted December 12th, 2007 in Game Development

Ok
I´m still thinking about it...
Do you think the sponsor will give more money if I did it or doesn´t it matter much?
If it does not matter much I´m better of not spending extra time on it and start on my next game. (yes I´m hungry for money)

Good or bad game idea? Posted December 12th, 2007 in Game Development

I´m currently working on a game now.
The main goal is to survive as long while dodging missiles and other things that explode.
You use the mouse to move 3 soldiers and use A and S to make them move further away or closer to each other.
Now here is the thing:
The view in the game is like you are watching a movie and I was thinking about letting cilouettes of people that are in front of you stand up and block the screen while doing something for a few seconds.
Like someone who stands up and says this movie sucks! and other people will throw popcorn at him.
And more of those kind of stuff.
This could make the game less standard but I don´t know if people will like it or only find it annoying.

So do you think its a good idea or do you think it would be better without it?
