I'd strongly recommend doing Maths A-Level, not only does is it a decent A-level in general, but it really helps. I have friends who in the first year had to do a catch-up maths module, forgoing a more interesting one to make sure they knew enough, and we're doing some more advanced maths this year that some of them are struggling with.

At least do an AS in it.

On scrapyard, there's an aircraft fuselage that is in an L-shape, and there's almost always someone camping on the corner of the L, on the inside. Shoot them there.

Actually, scrapyard's pretty good in general for that since most of the walls are just thin metal.

Bike was nicked.

Bummer.

Fingers crossed I'll be able to claim it on insurance, but it had been kept for a week at uni. They say that their insurance is good for "a designated cycle storage on campus for not more than 30 days", and mine was in a bike rack, but I bet they'll try and weasel out of it.

Still, it's a right cock. I have to walk 25 minutes in to uni, or I can bike in in 5.

Wank wank wank.

Surely you just need something like this:

where room.hasItem loops through everything that the room contains, room.remove just removes it from your room's list of things, inventory.add adds something to your inventory's list of things, and item.toString() returns a string representation (ie: the name) of your item, if you didn't know.

public void takeObj(Item item){
if(room.hasItem(item){
room.remove(item);
inventory.add(item);
}else{
System.out.println("You do not see "+item.toString());
}
}

I think we should start again, like jawdyn said. Delete everyone then re-add them as they come into the thread.

2) Do you think modders should be allowed to stay on the leaderboard?

Yes. However I don't want this to turn into a witchhunt type thing.

3) set up a couple of gamertags (with names like NGLeaderboard1 & NGLeaderboard2) and anybody who wants to be included in the leaderboard has to have one of these gamertags on their friend's list.

Yes.

4) Are you happy with the minimum requirement of 500 posts to join?

Lowered to 250.

5) lock this thread and start a new one with the rules firmly set out in the first post?

Yes.

At 11/19/09 05:10 AM, Jawdyn wrote: I say you recreate the list from scratch and anyone who you don't consider a regular poster in here should be removed until they ask to be a part of it again.

I wholeheartedly support this.

Sorry to spoil some facts

Well, it's not. AC1 was set in the Near East (Israel, Jordan, etc), in ~1200AD, the time of the crusades. AC2 takes place in Italy in the Renaissance, which was around ~1500AD.

Bam.

Anyway, game's out tomorrow, cannot wait seriously. :D

Last.FM do that so that they don't break copyright law.

It would also be very awesome, I agree 100%, there's little point in having last.fm if my xbox becomes a slideshow of pictures of bands while I'm listening to it.... even if I couldn't do it while playing online on account of bandwidth or something, it would have been awesome to get it on single player games or something.

Also yeah, questionable ethics I can barely hear anything but the drums. They're nice, but what the hell.

Also, keep in mind I know you like variety, but an album is a collection of songs unified by some reasoning. While "We had them and they were ready to go out" is nice and all, the contrast is pretty overwhelming. Either have a double album of heavier and quieter or do something like that, I'd recommend.

The songs are badly tagged, music nazis like me hate that. I went through and added correct ID3 tags (most notably track numbering) because I can't stand it when music's like that.

Other than that, the actual music's not bad, although the vast changes between songs could be toned down a little, I mean seriously, Colossus Of Rhodes comes straight after Space? I don't mind a little variety, and if you guys play everything you guys play everything, but jumping straight from Explosions In the Sky esque alternative rock to pretty brutal metal to more relaxing alt-rock? Maybe needs a little thinking.

As for the actual songs, I liked them. I'm a reasonable fan of God Is An Astronaut and Explosions In the Sky, but I don't really know much heavier stuff so I can't really comment too much on that stuff.

Couple of last thoughts:

Yeah, I agree that the mixing is a bit iffy. Cymbals were pretty overpowering and the whole thing was quite flat, although I appreciate you guys don't exactly have access to abbey road or anything. Also please for the love of god, re-record Nihilanth. I could barely listen to it, the quality was so bad. Also some of the solos sounded like a little child had just gone to town on My First Casio, but then again I'm a little critical of metal these days so that may just be me.

Majestic IV was in four parts, with each one sounding quite nice. While a beginning, middle, end is interesting, they were so separate, and the recording actually splitting between them, that they could have been broken up into four tracks. Y'know, like:

Majestic IV: Part I (Resonance Cascade)
Majestic IV: Part II (Broom-fondler)
Majestic IV: Part III (Gymnasium)
Majestic IV: Part IV (Rectory)

or something.

Cover art is a bit boring, it's not that great. The album name is interesting, however the font is, and the font certainly does not gel nicely with the songs, the band, the genre, the album title, the art, or anything. :\

I've heard promising things, so plan on buying it on friday morning, when it's released in the UK.

Assassin's Creed was one of my favourite games of 2007, and it was one of my surefire purchases of the autumn season, even without the good reviews.

Italy is one of my favourite places, and having been to Florence six or seven times (I have relatives nearby), I can't wait to go running around the duomo and the uffizi and so on and so forth. Venice is similarly amazing, as is Rome, can't wait to see them, and I hear even San Giminiano gets a mention.

They were awesome at birmingham too, loved their stage. Did they have the same big three tower blocks at the o2 too?

crowd was a bit mediocre though. didn't move around much, and I was near the front as well.

also, having a look at the o2 setlist,

One of the things that really got to me was how you were just walking. Running turns it into a video game, running, crouching, aiming, thinking tactics, hiding behind cover. This was just walking and shooting crowds....

A very interesting level, IMO.
