Pokemon's already a game that's built around enslaving wild animals, then forcing them to fight other animals. Never mind the use of drugs to enhance your Pokemon (Potions, Calcium, anyone?) What more do you want?

Seriously though, that's a terrible idea.

freeroam game with every single pokemon in it.

Yes, now we can see all the endless hoards of wild Pokemon that await us in various caves, lakes, and fields of tall grass.

A program to convert .fla into .swf? I'm pretty sure that if you're already using Flash to make the .fla that you can just export it as a .swf file. I know for sure that if you're using Flash CS3 that you should be able to simply export it as either a .swf or .avi file.

Topic: Are men intimidated by successful

Posted: 11/20/09 03:27 AM

Forum: General

'Successful anyone' can be intimidating so long as the 'lesser' person is in direct or indirect competition with the 'successful' person. As long as there's some sort of relationship, not necessarily romantic, the lesser person could always feel inferior. Nobody likes to feel inferior, and in North American society, it's stereotyped that the man has to take the leadership role. Now whether or not you consciously, when you're surrounded by something you can't help but be influenced at least a little bit, so I can see how some people might feel uncomfortable with that.

Posted: 11/20/09 03:08 AM

Forum: Video Games

At 11/19/09 10:53 PM, SlipperyMooseCakes wrote: Making it free would be a better move than giving it a price cut, in the eyes of the consumer anyway. The problem with making the service free is that there are literally millions of people that have a paid subscription to LIVE, and if you made it free than their money was wasted and they will be pissed off. The only solution I could think up of was to make Gold the standard (online for free) and upgrade every previous Gold member to a "Platinum" status. You would be Platinum until your subscription ran out and you would have the option to renew or not. Online play would be free either way but with the Platinum service you would get some serious perks and benefits. Perhaps the occasional free DLC, much like Qore.

^ This, however I personally think that it'd also work if those who've already paid had their Xbox Gold time converted into the equivalent amount in Microsoft Points.

At 11/17/09 11:52 PM, pigwhistler wrote: where is the option to vote?

Assuming you're using the new layout, it should be under the flash movie on the left hand side, underneath author and file information.

If you're using the old layout it should be the same, except you won't have the movie box (it'll just be on the left hand side)

This also applies to Art and Audio portal submissions, the only difference being the character on the voting buttons.

Sorry for the double post, but I just realized that it was your art submission. In that case you must have accidentally edited it so that you unchecked the 'Public Work' checkbox. You can edit that by going to your submission page, clicking on 'Edit' which should be just above the image. Then scroll down to where it says Public Work? and check off the box.

It's not a problem, that's just a sketch. If you're wondering why it has a score, that's because the author originally checked it off as "Not a sketch" but later changed his/her mind, went back and un-checked it.

Topic: Can you help me settle an arguement

Posted: 11/17/09 06:04 PM

The first picture looks awful, like it was scrawled on MS Paint in 3 minutes (So yes, it's too 'scriblly'). Additionally, the character on the right looks very out of place with the rest of the picture.

The second image isn't much of an improvement. The space above the character's head feels too empty (you could just move the 'Start' and 'Instructions' to the middle of the screen) and the font doesn't work too well. The background I think actually looks worse, the first one at least had a sort of 'charm' to it. The buildings(?) now look like slightly reddened grey sticks and the fire looks rushed and uninteresting(additionally, the lines are too thick). Try not using gradients, it doesn't look like it's working too well. Finally, assuming the cliff the character is on is parallel to the 'buildings', I think the shadows are a bit off.
