And I once thought about having responses as another stat for the Pentalist but no-one even has that many responses, not even a third of it. It is, it's even shorter when you skip all the cutscenes. Then again, so were MGS1 - 3. All fantastic games and longer than Portal (gameplay time-wise) nonetheless.

Well, Portal is judged upon different merits than most games. Does MGS4 have as many fun, challenging sidegames/minigames as Portal?

Do they really matter? What matters is the game itself.

I refer to the least-time, least-steps, and least-portals challenge modes, plus the advanced maps. If you add in all of those things, I'll bet Portal is longer than MGS4, from the sounds of it. Without need of any cutscenes to pad the length. #;-}>

That's just comparing them in a different way. If it were games themselves, MGS4 would be longer, even if you cut all the cutscenes.

Anyway, I've only played MGS1, and it felt long enough to me, but I wasn't skipping cutscenes. If I were to replay it and skip cutscenes, I might change my view.

Have you ever replayed MGS1? I'd say that game has great replay value since every time I want to play MGS4, I'm always beating it at least twice to view both endings.

Funny you mention this now since I know someone who's going through all the FF games in the main series with the exception of XI. This is something I would like to do myself sometime. However, I hate FFII with a passion and never want to play it again so the idea of going through every FF game chronologically won't ever happen for me. Also, it doesn't really help when if I ever did such a thing, I would be dreading FFVIII the whole time, most especially the last disc. However, I wish you the best of luck going through these games.

Sadly, I've not met any bands but I do remember one guy I saw when I was in town and he said he saw Judas Priest and Megadeth backstage and I commented that I saw Maiden in July 2008 and he was actually jealous. Sure, Maiden might be his very favourite band but if I ever saw Judas Priest and Megadeth backstage, I'd be more than satisfied.

I was never a big fan of Gau's moves. Whenever I play FFVI, I'm always finding myself using Locke, Edgar, Gogo and Shadow most of the time. Sure, Locke may not have a great special ability but I see him as the main character for FFVI so I have him there. I'm aware Terra is meant to be the primary character for FFVI but I felt Locke had a bigger role in the game, more especially the second half. Heck, even when I was raising other characters for the final battle, Gau was one of the characters I'd leave out.

I got Slough Feg's Down Among the Deadmen and while I'm enjoying it a lot, there's something I can't put my finger on for Walls of Shame. The riff sounds so familiar yet I can't think which song has a similar riff. I'll eventually figure out which song it was (unless it's just my mind fucking up) but damn, this can be rather annoying. Good song nonetheless.
