When I used to gauge my ears, I wouldn't go up one gauge at a time.
I'd buy a really big ear spike, and slowly shove it in within an hour.
You may rip your ears that way... but mine didn't at all.

Rather than invent something completely new, why don't you add to something that already exists?
Example, rims on the car.
The opener for coke/pepsi cans. Rather than twist things, it changed to the... whatever it is now.

You should think "What can I do to have EVERYONE want this?" What can you do to create or improve what you know about - your lifestyle, maybe - that you can make bucks on.
That's the route I would take.

I think asking the question "is there life outside of earth," is silly.

Why are humans so great? What is so special about our galaxy, our star, planet etc that we could consider that we're the only ones here?

The way I see it, is that life requires special conditions to grow. Earth met those conditions and it was only random chance that A) took it this far and B) even happened in the first place.
So is there life outside of earth? Yes, definately so, I think.
Do they look like what we think? Most probably not. I wonder what kind of genetic changes would happen if life adapted to completely foreign materials, or a planet lacking in certain aspects from our own.
