Would it be more convenient if I changed around the code from AS2 to AS3? Would this problem be solved then?

The site doesn't contain all that much code so I could definetly do it.

Wierd text loading problem? Posted September 19th, 2009 in Game Development

Hi thar Flash forum, I've used Flash CS4 for 3 hours or so total (I'm the noobiest noob ever) and with the help of some guides I figured out how to make my Flash website read text from a text document.

It all works but the text is displayed very wierd and I have no idea of where to even begin troubleshooting. None of the guides I've found covers this problem either so I'm pretty much clueless.

This is what the code to read the text looks like (AS2):

var content:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
lvs.onLoad = function(success:Boolean):Void  {
	if (success) {
		home_txt.text = lvls.varName;
	} else {
		home_txt.text = "Unable to load external file.";
	}
};
content.load("home.txt");

This is what it should look like:

Hi and welcome, this is a test.

But this is what comes out:

Hi%20and%20welcome%2C%20this%20is%20a%20test%2E%0D%0A=
I did search before asking, but I don't even know what to call the problem so that makes searching abit more difficult.

Did I just simply make a noob mistake and miss something annoyingly obvious to everyone else?

Response to: FL Studio 9 Released Posted September 18th, 2009 in Audio

As far as CPU load goes FL 9 is an improvement as I have 2 cores (atleast I was told that's why it's running better).

Super mega Lead (8 sylenth1, 1 nexus, 2 sytrus):
FL8 CPU Load (Solo): ~60%
FL8 CPU Load (Song Playback): 82%

FL9 CPU Load (Solo): ~40%
FL9 CPU Load (Song Playback): 60-70%
# FL9 tends to get less underruns with 2ms ASIO Buffer than FL8 aswell.

No the computer isn't weak, all sylenth1 instances use 128 voices each.

I am annoyed that I can't open most of my FL8 Projects with it though, as there is always some kind of error like: It can't find a specific sample even though it's in the FLzip or it can't slice my fl slicer files correctly.

Sure I can finish them in FL 8, but what the hell is up with that XD, did they change the engine so much that it's incompatible with 8/10 FL8 projects?

Anyway, I'm enjoying the updates, but I'm not blown away by it.

Response to: Ask your FruityLoops questions here Posted September 15th, 2009 in Audio

Questions, What's up with this retarded piece of software? Why can't it find it's own stock plugins on SOME flps? Why does the program give me completely white error boxes?

The biggest Q of all would be, why does every FL version after FL6 act like a mentally retarded teddybear on speed to me? and ONLY me it seems.

Reinstalling it doesn't fix anything.

And without saying too much, the demo does this aswell.

Though it may seem like I'm being terribly sarcastic I'm actually completely serious.

Such things usually require abit of $ fyi, Exposure doesn't always cut it.

Besides I haven't seen Boosterz(Banned), Raaban or Splash post at EA in ages so having them on a friendslist isn't much proof to go by :/.

I know several of those people IRL too, am I famous nao?

Approving/Banning is a manual process. Humans make mistakes, mods occasionally do too.

Response to: getting stuck with songs. Posted August 24th, 2009 in Audio

Fun facts lulz

Project files from 2009: 16 028 files
Total discography from 2004 - 09: ~80 tracks

Happens to everyone. But it'd hurt even more if you complete the actual song but get stuck on the actual mixing part (like my stats above shows I keep doing....sometimes.....)

Oh lol, seems I missed those last lines thar haha. I'll give you some better options once I'm done multitasking (trying to get my kid to sleep).

Response to: Latency, Underruns, and Memory Use Posted August 14th, 2009 in Audio

Since you use sytrus and poizone I'm going to assume you're using FL.
1 :Try "Tools/Macros/ smart disable for all plugins".
2 :Does any sounds in your song include loop points? If so do they "loop" constantly thus raising the overall track polyphony all the time?

It will eventually fuck your buffer up.

3 :Do you use Asio 4 All (A4A)? Does it behave the same if you use the "primary sound driver" and set the buffer to max?

I'd only recommend A4A to someone desperate for Asio as it starts to lag like crazy on severe underruns.

Gotta love C/P

I figured I should have done this as soon as I made these, submiting them now is just so embarassing.

Anyway here goes:

Penta P - I'm Raving (B0UNC3 Slam Remix)

"I never finished the sequencing / mixing of this track since someone leaked it onto various websites while the track was still in it's demo state. This is nothing improved it's just the full length version."

B0UNC3 - Crying Soul (THE Original!!!!)

"First off I'd like to thank Erkie both for actually saving this and sending it back to me. This was greatly appreciated!
This was my entry for "The battle of the Audio Portal" way back. I successfully lost the projectfile and mp3 alltogether from a HDD crash so NOONE outside the competition ever got to hear the REAL original. Anyway here it is, enjoy it in all it's 05 (pre vec) glory lol.
"

A perfect mix of a kick and a snare can indeed imrpove the sound alot. Experiment with some snares on it, pitch shift them, reverse the phase etc. Something is bound to do the trick.

And then check out http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/3 4941

Guess who made it....

Check the amount of stolen clicks/listens the guy has.

On another note, every track he has is stolen. but myspace wont do shit about it. So go ahead and do whatever you please^^

Depends on what you mean by remix. If you used any part from the original song don't submit it.

What do you make of this? This is the error I wrote about on my news page btw.

Fruity delay works on everything else btw^^

It only affects 1 single flp and can't be removed using the flp fixer thingy from IL.

and no, the flp ISN'T corrupted. =)

FL8 crashes on me every now and again (like once a week), but other than that it's stable. Must be your computer.

I really doubt that since I have used it on 3 different computers and it has turned out like this on every one of them.

Response to: My Audio Programs Hate Me Posted July 31st, 2009 in Audio

Ctrl + Alt + Del and check too see if you have 2 "explorer.exe" or "Lsass.exe" processes running.

If you have 2 "explorer.exe" then kill them both off using the processes tab in the taskmanager. After that go to your programs tab and press "new activity" (or whatever it says) and type "explorer" (might have to add .exe after that). It should start up and function like normal.

Warning: Killing off "explorer.exe" will shut down your taskbar and desktop, but don't shit yourself, it's supposed to do that.

I'd suggest you download this if your internet seems to be slower than usual. I didn't read everything but is your computers performance affected too?. If so do a full system scan with malwarebytes, ad aware, an antivirus program and any spyware program.

The reason I say that is because recently I got hit with a trojan that did exactly what you described but eventually killed off my browsers completely. Lucky for me, following that procedure fixed all my problems.

They might work just fine for listening, but for monitoring they aren't sufficient enough to give you an actual presentation of the sound. I tried skullcandy last week and I thought they sounded like tin cans personally.

I haven't slept for 2 days so 'scuse my rambling.

Same thing happened to me with some DJ Hopar guy stealing PoE and got afew million hits on it and is possibly making money from it.
Myspace didn't do shit when I brought the matter and sufficient evidence to support my case to them.

Don't get your hopes up of getting the tracks removed or the user banned if the songs are actually stolen.
