Worth pointing out- Stephen Hawkings doesn't believe.
Though I agree with PiG in that it isn't black and white. Religion can support science if the religion encourages questioning minds, but of course it can also encourage close minded fatalism, so really it comes down more to a culture's philosophy than which god told who to do what.
If any.

I use Windings for my wobbles, Times New Roman for my sub basses, and generally Lucida Sans for my leads. Sometimes I mix it up and use Arial :)

Goddammit, NO, I stirred and cooked the soup.
Why else do you think I describe my beats as hot shit?

Sounds good =] Got FB's accappella just know, get 'em coming in guys!
At 4/30/12 10:10 PM, PiGPEN wrote: So how do you make beats in MSPaint, Tekk?
PiG I'm insulted. I use instagram for my drum parts, notepad for my synths and I mix it all down in Audacity (EURRRGHH, AUDACITY!)

Well you managed to tell me too late, brer. Time difference duncha know.
Personally I'd be surprised if you had any intention of letting me know beforehand but meh.
Hope y'all enjoy.
At 4/29/12 04:21 PM, NogginmenAnimations wrote: Ax, do we have an estimate what kinda time you'll have the beat up by?
Probs around 6 GMT, so that's around 1 PM for all the Amerifags I think.
At 4/28/12 08:06 PM, Wyze-Stingray wrote: Now I'm curious, what will you be doing with my part?
Well I figured, same as Obsideo you generally spit over classical style minor key stuff, but maybe with some 808 kicks and hat work as opposed to pure olskool drums.
It definitely doesn't have to sound "as old school as possible" for my part.
I like spitting on gangster-type shit basically, but I'd say just check my other tracks and you can see what I like in a beat.
Yeah, like ol skool bouncy drums and some smooth samples working unobtrusively sounds like your kinda thing, with minimum beat switch ups. (Correct me if I'm wrong) That'd really go with your place in the line up too.
At 4/28/12 05:41 PM, ByronTheRapper wrote: I'm not sure if you actually have ideas to tailor this thing to emcees, but Obsideo is part of this as well if that makes a difference.
Absolutely :) I figure as Obsideo tends to go for the Rama tracks, something ol school, orchestral/ jazz samples with well polished drums would fit well.
At 4/28/12 05:05 PM, Teqneek wrote: So are you customizing everyone's part to fit their style or something? If so, I really don't want to spit over the audio of a woman giving birth.
Yeah, but not majorly. Just 8 bar minor switch ups mostly. I was gonna keep it as olskool as possible on your part, I figured from your earlier comment that's what you''re feelin aight? :)
Just got back totally swaggerous from an awesome day out. Read posts and felt moved by the bro-ness of all you bros.

Oh SJD, you such a bro. Seriously though, dw, whether PiG is trolling or just speaking his mind, idc, it's all good. I got a couple fans, and as long as the general consensus is for an Ax beat, I'll do that shit. My ego's raging right now with a cocktail of awesome friends and getting off with a very beautiful girl who I've liked for a while. (Shu'up, I'm not a schoolboy with a crush) But my ego's all good :)
PiG, if you don't like ma shit, that's all cool, I'll do you something spesh. You like the big brass and the 808 kicks right? I can just get together something similar, or just sample your shit. All your call, I'm not about to get all emotional. This music shit's really just for shits n giggles, so s'all guuuuud.
ALSO: ANY SUGGESTIONS, please get them coming in. I'm hitting the studio on Monday and I'm gunning for a one day ass kicking beat. To do that I'm gonna start conceptualising this beat shit, thinking how it'll work. Want to make a decent memento of Clabtrap 2012, something everyone'll look back and laugh at, but do so tapping their foot.
At 4/28/12 04:02 AM, AKACCMIOF wrote: If you like I can sample yours for your section of the beat. Or just do something similar to the new tempo, I'm not petty.
That said, if y'all don't wanna rap over a beat I write and not just PiG give a shout, I don' wan be making this shit simply coz pity.
Shit, posting off my electronica alt by accident. Oh well, y'all know AKAC = Ax by now I figure.
At 4/27/12 03:26 PM, Teqneek wrote: Yeah I never knew until yesterday that the SJD beat was what we were actualy rolling with. I was always under the impression that Ax was making something for this.
I'm well up for making something, but I'll only be able to drop it on Monday. If you guys do your spitting to the SJD beat, though, I'm going to go with the same tempo so acappellas to that beat will still be good.
I was thinking gritty throughout, like old school crackly drums, some piano, and a few little variations possibly involving horns, a little synth and definitely piano. I was gonna throw in little nuances each eight to match the rappers idiomatic style (ie: less hi-hat on PiG, more hi-hat on Byron, a bit darker on FatBeats etc.)
If you guys are down with that, I'd like to stress I'd LOVE to do something special for clabtrap (inb4 gayyyy). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. FB, I was thinking of making this kinda like the verse beat for London 2220, but with less sitar. Taking requests.
Anyway, it's whatever, I'll roll with what the majority wants. I'll spit raps over the audio of a woman giving birth, sheeeeit.
Wow, well, it's gonna be a hard sample to find, but I did say I'd take requests......
*Samples grunts and screams to a dotted rhythmic pattern*
At 4/27/12 01:49 PM, PiGPEN wrote: Feel free to admit you like one of my beats and want to use it. I won't even ask for an apology since i know how salty you kids get.
Tanishi's pretty hawt. The horns and drums in Clockwork pretty good, but it kinda falls apart. I think you do your best kinda shit when you keep it down to the simple swag kinda rhythm.

Where the fuck is Ax with our beat?
Hahahahaha, so I'm doing this shit? If that's public consensus, I'm down with that. Only thing is that I'll only be able to have it up on Monday. Same for verse. If we want to get cooking with gas aight now, I say record to SJD's beat and I'll make a beat with an identical tempo. Or something.
If you guys want an Ax beat, I'm down with that and I'm flexible.
I love it. SJD and Gasmasq, two politically orientated rappers who think about the world but don't make pretentious bullshit, both serious about rapping, going from job to job get placed together in a rap battle. Previously, they've made jokes and even complimented their opponents, hell, even in the grudge matches Gas proclaimed himself "humbled" and SJD has declared that KillBill makes dope shit, maybe doper than his own.
So these two thoughtful, fun, charismatic personalities are probably against each other in the semis. What happens?
BITCH FEST.
Diggity down. If y'all like I could write a beat (if i write the right kinda shizzle) tailor made for that kinda format :)

Feel both of you on the girl problems front. My recent ex (previously of two years) is being really bipolar, switching between trying to be like best friends and trying to make me as jealous as physically possible. Fairly reminiscent of what was our relationship.
Fuck it, take me to France with you guys.

Good to see nothing's really changed on this thread. What do y'all think of this for a battle beat? I'm psyched for the producer comps, waaaayyyyyy cooler than the whole MC thing. Pshhh, you guys so square. Especially Scuare.
It's funny, I can't understand why anyone'd need 3 days, unless there are only certain days in the week you can get your verse on record. In fact, I don't get why anyone'd want it. After like 30 minutes of good lyricism, I just completely lose the aggression needed to write decent punches. I mean, I took three days to get a verse done with FB just because I can't get to recording equipment on the weekend, but me and Ob did our battle in 48 hours flat, and I'd say we hit dat thing hard.
How do you guys do your writing? Does anyone need 3 days for the lyrics?
Hey, since Sunra only entered as Raven for a joke, would ANYONE mind if we got to see Obsideo vs B-Serious? Everyone was upset Obsideo was denied that when Raven dropped out, and if Raven hadn't entered Obsideo could have skipped the pre-round anywho.
It'd be too much if B-Serious got to round 2 on the merits of being put against scorch and then noone. Tooo much, and the people of clabtrap deserve a good battle.

And yeah, same to you, Raven/Sunraw.
Some Brits say it, but generally only pikeys. Didn't go with the posh Southern accent you were pulling Sunra, I figured you were a posh kid trying to be a pikey :P
And I'm afraid this makes all the Raven disses I used in our battle obsolete, Obsideo. Dammit.
At 3/30/12 01:11 AM, Obsideo wrote: As much as I hate breaking up a good circle jerk...
Has anyone else here noticed that Sunraw kinda sounds like MC Raven just without the British accent? Anyone?
I see what you mean, but there's no chance in a million years a Canadian rapper who's never been to England could nail the South East coast suburb accent like that. It's far more likely that Raven merely copies Sunra. Besides, I know both fairly well, and Sunra is far too much of a douchebag, whereas Raven is kind hearted, though a somewhat conceited kinda guy.
Besides, half the subtle Brit references Raven drops into his rhymes aren't even noticed by North Americans, let alone be thought up by them. So

War-Spawn, this is exactly what SJD wanted. You get all pissy at him and say a bunch of stupid stuff, and now everyone thinks you're an egocentric better-than-thou prick. You should have really thought some more about a rapper who releases a B&Butthead styled hype track and then challenges KillBill to a grudge match. SJD knows how to make a name for himself, because he welcomes the fact people underestimate his rapping ability.
I'm just sayin'
Gahhhh, Edd was amazing :( He gave a nerdy child like myself so many chuckles. Rest in peace.
Wow, war-spawn, SJD be trolling and you spent the last two days feeding cake by request. Also-

Oh man, my two favourite MCs battle each other in the preround and NEITHER make it to the next battle. Obsideo, you fought the good fight, but FUCK YOU Raven I wanted to hear you kill B-Serious (Sadface)

Tv Johnny, Emrox, Scuare, DJ Future, Teqneek, Wyze, Soundbreaker, Alto, Kill Bill, RJA III and Rezzytip.
Not sure what to expect of your drawing of Gas. I mean, will he be all big and badass or will you have been sucked into the battle hate enough to just have drawn a big cock in a wizard outfit?
Also love how TV Johnny was the first one in the list. He must have been fun.

Well see as a lot of this gives other rappers ammunition, it can be classed an exception under rule 37 paragraph 6 subsect. 4.
