Granted, but given that the idea of self is transient and alters from moment to moment, "you" will never make a wish again, merely a different consciousness sharing your body.
Also you don't get to pull another self referential wish ever again.

Depends on the subject matter, where you're saying it etc etc. We're generally pretty cool though, I think.

Idk, I think we Europeans'd get our heads out our asses about America for a start, and mourn the loss of one of the most incredible (if not always right) nations in world history. Britain would probably try and take America's place on the world stage, and the increased revenue through the financial sector (London is, after all, second only to New York) would probably go some way towards not making that the absolute joke it sounds like now. The European Union would become an incredibly strong economic superpower, and would probably try and tie its constituents tighter together, probably prompting Britain to leave.
So, with China, the EU and Britain now the only serious contenders for superpowerdom I guess its inevitable that the rest of the world would do really fucking badly. The third world would be dealt a massive blow, and unless European intervention could bolster Israel sufficiently (doubtful) we'd have the mother of all clusterfucks in the middle east. English would probably stop being the world's first language, probably to be replaced by Spanish or Mandarin or some shit. Liberia would go fucking mental, as would Burma. There's a whole load of BS that would unload, I don't think much of it would be positive.

Actually couldn't agree more. It's one of those laws that isn't only about punishment or harm prevention though, it's a law people have put there to try and make their society one they want to be a part of (a little like weed, incest and gay marriage). Personally, I don't have any problem with a couple farmers getting the most out of their livestock, it's just a case of whether your society as a whole minds endorsing it.

Meh, I've just moved into dorms and I didn't bring the year old stack of periodicals I never read, otherwise I'd photo and timestamp a copy of Vidya. IQ's pretty meaningless anyway, I mean school grades give you more bragging rights and they don't mean shit. Out of curiosity though, what is your IQ? A lot of people are high enough for TNS but acknowledge that MENSA is more recognised and comes with more perks. The irony that it's more intelligent to be a MENSAn...

Without getting back into a giant BS argument, it's worth just mentioning how reductionist IQ is especially with something like religion. I know a lot of MENSAns who... aren't very theologically developed. Although as a TNSer I'm obliged to sneer at MENSAns I also know a lot of people who wouldn't make the IQ cutoff but know bullshit when they smell it.
Being a material atheist like you isn't about IQ. It's more about being honest with yourself, being introverted enough to give a fuck, not being so emotional as to be knocked by the thought and having a disregard for the thought of poetry and myth being enlightening beyond literal truth. To be all of that on the net you'd also have to be quite competitive and reasonably self important.
And lots of other stuff.

There's also the option of indefinite psychiatric care. Hell, if we're saying they've forfeit their right to life, I say we use them as Guinea pigs to advance psychiatric science, test out our new care methods on them. The death penalty just doesn't seem very productive.

That's how things have always worked tbh. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, they didn't become legends for reasons beyond a) their music sounding nice and b) them having influential patrons. They didn't have the hordes of fans you imagine them having either, going out to see music only really became a popular middle class thing in the late 19th century. They've always been favoured by the elite.

Oh Jesus Christ, you are so full of crap.
Also I used to really like rap and now it has gone to shit.
Lil Wayne, MC Hammer
MC Hammer... lol OK.
Rap music's only getting more intelligent though. More intelligent, more real and more goddamn catchy. You just don't seem to know hiphop.

So wait, do we keep any rights to our work or get any cash money? Right now it's kinda sounding like you want us to do a remix for you without us keeping any rights or getting any tangible reward, so that this remix might or might not get featured on your EP. Depending on whether or not you like it.
Surely we might as well just remix any song of yours and PM you it in the hope you use it? I kinda fail to see how this is a remix competition and not just you asking us to make you music that you may or may not use.

what makes this shutdown any different?
The problem I have with this logic is that a lot more has changed than just the presidents in charge. There are a lot of people working in the Executive Branch, and a lot of advisors who would be giving both presidents different advice. Moreover, I can imagine people in the Executive Branch now having a lot more cause for concern, thinking it will be a protracted shutdown. This really doesn't seem as clear cut as you make it out to be...

Lol np at all. Didn't see it was a proper old school rave track! Yeah, drop enough pills and mixing stops being such an issue haha, would have a great vibe to get mental too.

How is it done? Is there another synth (higher) synth playing on top of the bass?
How do i replicate it?

Sounds like a synthesized bass guitar underneath with a standard ravey sawtooth bass synth on top that's had it's low end filtered out.
Honestly though, the mixing on this track is... not great. You can do better than this.

But what if Baal exists, yo? He probably wouldn't have a problem with atheists really, but seeing as the followers of Yahweh completely decimated his people you can bet that Judaeo-Christians are getting some serious hellfire.

Yeah, I mean Steve you kinda just made the best post I've read in this thread lol would expect nothing else from a clabtrapper hahaha. I disagree with a few distinctions you make, and I think the majority of theists see stuff a lot more literally than your post would imply, but ultimately I think you damn well nailed it making the case that needed to be made and me being a pedantic lil bitch wouldn't really add a whole lot to the conversation.

I like your style of writing a lot, but I think it's worth noting: it'd be more accurate to say you found a non-descript object which you believe to be invisible unicorn poop.
It's like Anthony Flew said it, we're both walking round a beautiful garden and we're just divided on how it came to be. We can still enjoy the same beautiful garden. We can both still list mechanisms that would have cultivated the garden, and we can both call these systems "gardeners" even if they aren't literal gardeners, because they have produced beauty in the like a gardener would.
It's misleading to say you see a god and I do not, because we both see "god" we just disagree on its nature and mechanics. You probably see something closer to Yahweh and I see something closer to Buddha Ahmidta.
Atheists have a lot of strong arguments on their side, they shouldn't have to result to this. You got the entirety of science on your side. Math and such. Invisible unicorn arguments are just you being a dick.
Lol essentially yeah. That whole invisible unicorn bs is the result of flame wars and an antagonistic culture. We could work together better imho given that we're just using different stories to describe the same events.

Yeah, that's definitely how it's sounding to me. Hell, that's exactly how it would sound even if the President had shut down these places.
Korriken, if you have no evidence that the President is shutting down these places purposefully to get at Republicans, maybe you shouldn't state he is like it's fact. Shit, he might be and he guess you're right that he has something of a motive, I have no idea, but a claim like that DOES require some evidence.

Scientists have not verified that God does not exist.
Unicorns ARE mentioned in the bible and it is impossible to verify that a unicorn could not exist. All there is is an absence of evidence that they do exist. No evidence of unicorns is not evidence of no unicorns.
