You're ridiculous. America's done some fucked up racist shit, don't get me wrong, but you are ridiculous. I hate how you trendy leftier-than-thou cunts have to hyperbolise real issues like this and stop any meaningful discussion happening. The amount of racism right now is fucked up and stupid, but you and the way you discuss this shit bring nothing to the table.
Please, go back to Tumblr.

Some more clarification on that - the book being cited isn't primarily about Hinduism at all. It's a sourceless claim made in passing that is little more than hear-say, which is fine because that isn't really what the book's about.
Hinduism gets this a lot, especially on sexuality. A lot of Westerners have this image of anything east of the Mediterranean and south of the Caucasus as being some super exotic sexually liberated touchy-feely culture, and have often misrepresented works from these areas to ignorant Western audiences in order to put across their own agenda. The Karma Sutra was originally said to be a religious work lol, seriously take any Western interpretation of Hindu views on sexuality with a mighty big ol' pinch of salt.

That's actually very interesting, although I dare say it doesn't cover why American Christians are so much more homophobic than American Jews if Abrahamic tradition is the main culprit.
Don't know where you got that information from, but you're dead wrong.
From reading Hindu scripture and hanging out with Hindus, mainly lol
"Hindu views of homosexuality and, in general, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) issues, are diverse and different Hindu groups have distinct views. Homosexuality is regarded as one of the possible expressions of human desire. Although some Hindu dharmic texts contain injunctions against homosexuality, a number of Hindu mythic stories have portrayed homosexual experience as natural and joyful.[1] There are several Hindu temples which have carvings that depict both men and women engaging in homosexual sex.[2] Same-sex relations and gender variance have been represented within Hinduism from Vedic times through to the present day, in rituals, law books, religious or so-called mythical narratives, commentaries, paintings, and sculpture. The extent to which these representations embrace or reject homosexuality has been disputed within the religion as well as outside of it. In 2009, The United Kingdom Hindu Council issued a statement that 'Hinduism does not condemn homosexuality', subsequent to the decision of the Delhi High Court to legalise homosexuality in India.[3]"
From the Wikipedia page on "LGBT topics and Hinduism".
And now I'm going to show you why you shouldn't just quote wikipedia verbatim.
1st source gives zero examples in sutra or illustrations of sculptures. That citation is literally just someone who has no idea of Hinduism.
2nd source is a textbook for children, the first sentence of which in the relevant section is "there is nothing in the Hindu scriptures about homosexuality".
3rd source actually illustrates my point.
Check your sources, Hindus didn't give a shit about homosexuality until colonial times and if they did, they did so individually and certainly without basis in scripture.
[...] But is Christianity taking this position and running with it an excuse for it spewing out misogynistic beliefs in the modern world?
You make Christianity sound like some kind of super-villain. Christianity isn't really a force for misogyny in the world at all, and you'll find many Christian feminists and many Christian groups promoting women's rights in third world countries (ie: Christian Aid).
I'm willing to change my opinion on this however. The moment when people stop using the bible as an excuse to keep down [insert persecuted minority here] is the moment I shut the fuck up and never say a bad word against it.
Do you think that day will come any time soon?
Is that the day no Christian at all uses his/ her religion as an excuse to oppress others or the day that Christianity actually causes someone to oppress someone else? Whether or not you're a rational human being or an angsty prick depends heavily on your answer.

No probs at all homeslice, you'll be alright, you just might have to push yourself pretty hard. It'll only make you stronger though, and having the strength to be happy really is the most important thing in life.

I used to be pretty bad, so please understand that everything I'ma say I say with sympathy and understanding.
You seem to have a lot of outside locutions bro, try and realise that only you are capable of doing your shit, only you are capable of bringing yourself happiness. Every time you let yourself spiral into negativity and self abuse you are being weak. To get out of depression is tougher than a lot of people ever have to find out, but you have to do it, and do it now. Don't let yourself think weak thoughts. Clear your head whenever you start to spiral. When you can't find joy where you used to, try and sleep properly then do things that will give you self worth (learning more computer programming etc.).
Above all: Sleep properly. Minimum nine hours a day. Good sleep.
Don't drink, although weed is fine. Seriously, don't even worry about it. Try not to do it more than once a week to keep your tolerance low, and only smoke with friends, but if anything it helped me get over depression (gave me some great carefree times with my friends and made me feel more worthy, yano).
Make compulsive acts that you follow through with. Follow through with everything you decide is in your greatest interest. How well you follow through with these compulsive acts will determine how well you will be able to self realise - get good at this and you will be hella successful in life. Even just getting better will stop you feeling helpless.
Open up to people you love and care about. Try and be understanding of their emotions and form genuine bonds.
Play old video games.
Be happy and be the reason you're happy.

I have exactly that going on right now lol I don't tell her shit I do with others she doesn't tell me shit. While I care for her deeply I'm not really all that attached to her and dgaf how she gets her kicks. Works perfectly since I'm just out of a long term relationship and still trying to make the most of having zero responsibility.
Funny thing though, I couldn't have done the open relationship stuff with my ex. Would have broken my heart. Now I'm sleeping with other girls and she still sleeps with me I guess that's exactly what's happened though.
So yeah, I guess that I'm actually in two open relationships. Just trying to enjoy it while it lasts lol
Best part, is my fuckbud lives upstairs from me and has a wifi router, meaning I enjoy free wifi for my sexual services on some next juggalo shit. FUCK BITCHES GET WIFI

Yeah true, just like how it's just your opinion that I'm wrong. I just think you could be more cherishing and understanding is all, plus I think people see things through the perspective of race or sexual orientation way too often. I find it kinda funny how race is the most ill-defined concept we have and yet we pay it the most attention.

I just think it's interesting how we've had like three paragraphs about her blackness and jack shit about her as a person. No, actually, we have had a lot about her personality it's just all been attributed to her being black. I mean, tell me you don't imagine this guy seeing everything his gf does and being like "ZOMG black people like that?!?" rather than just appreciating her as an individual.
Idk though Zara always joked about my whiteness and shit, I'm not on some next PC tip. Just saying I find it immature and superficial.

Religion, particularly the Abrahamic religions, are chock full of homophobia and lots of other nasty shit. This nasty shit helps reinforce the beliefs of nasty people. And this is helped by all those lovely Christians who wouldn't hurt a fly by them holding up Christianity as the pinnacle or morals.
I think you're falsely attributing attitudes derived from tradition as being derived from religion. Huge difference. Take away a homophobic Christians faith, they're unlikely to suddenly become a beacon of tolerance and unconditional acceptance. I mean, a lot of Southern racists used to claim their hatred had a basis in Genesis, but as far as I was aware we all acknowledge just how irrelevant Christianity actually was to such attitudes.
I'm interested which other religions besides the Abrahamic ones you think are homophobic. The next biggest religion would be Hinduism, and despite a whooooole bunch of Hindu homophobes, Hinduism doesn't even mention homosexuality as existing.
Bad example. Because Christianity is quite clear on adultery (despite the fact it attributes much harsher punishments on females - but what else would one expect from a hugely misogynistic faith system?).
Seems unfair to blame misogyny on Christianity in that regard - women have always been punished more harshly for adultery than men (before we became civilised enough for egalitarianism at least). That much is just because humans naturally default to polygeny. The bible's just reflecting natural human morality in that regard. It is more that Jesus was waaay ahead of his time by saying to treat men and women equally in this regard and less that the older Jewish laws were just lagging behind.
If anything, I'd say the fact that Christians hold modern beliefs in this regard is evidence that they do not take their morals from their religion as you seem to be claiming.
The utilitarian in me digs the shit outta this, but I'm a little too idealistic all in all I think. I mean, we can't help the parents we're born to, you and I could just have easily been the grand children of lunatics. To purposefully punish someone for a crime they didn't commit shouldn't be how we do things imho
If America is the most hated country on the world it's undeserved. I think North Korea (deservedly) and Israel (perhaps less deservedly) are more hated than the USA though.

More like the ones that survived. I mean, since Ashoka, the biggest Darwinian advantage of modern day Buddhism is how well it blends with other ways of thought. Zen Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism, Sri Lankan Buddhism, Chinese Buddhism... all have mixed with the local philosophies and folklore. Interesting since Gautama was most likely just a proto-Hindu who was extra keen on ahimsa...

Plus, Afro- Caribbean women tend to be better at dancing than white women and generally listen to better music imho. Oh, and better at cooking. I mean, I really don't feel like there's any contest.

See this is where I think I disagree with you. If you went back to any of the old African kingdoms you could've made the same arguments. You know the Gold Coast (where most the slaves sent to America came from) was like a third slaves? Hell, going back to West Africa you hear soooo much fucking racism to other tribes, you may as well argue that any descendants of the Akhan are also oppressors having benefitted from the subjugation of other peoples.
The Maori of New Zealand would all be oppressors by virtue of having gotten rid of their rivals by genocide, giving their descendants more resources to inherit. Every person who benefitted from anyone in any previous generation's stupid misdeads is an oppressor by your logic. There is no distinction made based on a person's own actions, we are all fated to be oppressors.
Which is fine if you believe it, but renders the moniker "oppressor" worthless and lets the real oppressors off the hook.
Man, this trendy leftist cultural-relativist nihilism really pisses me off.

Just to say so: These images come clothed in fluency but aren't of its fabric. To evidence fluency with detached clauses is to feign nonchalance by sulking. And, withal, fluency's raison d'ĂȘtre is to clearly convey meaning in a manner coherent - I might say that, within the form-content dichotomy's paradigm, you seem pretty content with pretty form without forming content.

Think my first legal drink would've been at the office Christmas party then, in which case just a Guinness (pisswater imho but if all your coworkers are Irish it still needs doing)

Really though? By "existing" I'm oppressing people?
My family right up until the last generation were factory workers. The people who ran the East India Company were the same people who didn't care at all how my family were starving with no healthcare in shitty slums. The same people who came up with racist theories of intelligence applied those same theories to justify the poverty of poor white people, who they believed to also be genetically inferior.
Don't get me wrong, my family were never enslaved or forced to leave their home country and there is a whole load of BS about race I won't ever have to deal with, but you make some seriously broad generalisations about white people. We aren't and never were a homogenous group and the same white people who shat on you shat on some of us as well. White people didn't only oppress white people and black people weren't only oppressed by white people. There are problems that need to be sorted out but counter-racism isn't going to help anyone.
