Here's my problem with that - Life is a fragile system. It only takes one mistake, one event and you are permanently dead. Given that time is not finite, no matter how small the possibility of dying is, it is guaranteed to occur. And once it has, you might be able to replicate the old life but the last life is permanently dead.
It is genuinely impossible to cheat death, at least by immortality. Cheating it by resurrection might not be.
