Actually, since I've found breaking to work with motion I'm going to use that to my advantage. Instead of the text moving off screen I'm going to have each individual letter fly off in a different direction. In the end, I geuss this will make my Flash movie better, lol. Thanx for your help anyways.

Response to: Moving Text Posted November 24th, 2005 in Game Development

Exactly! I don't see a problem either! Like I said, I've used this exact same method countless times before and its worked fine. I've fucked around with this for hours now but to no avail. When I break the text, motion works fine but then I have to move every single letter and in perfect unison (which I reeeeallly dont want to do, its so time consuming). There must be some stupid small glitch somewhere that I'm overlooking...

Response to: Moving Text Posted November 24th, 2005 in Game Development

Both textboxes are MC's. You don't see the problem? Niether do I, lol. I'll try not converting the textboxes to MC's and just using a shape tween.

Response to: Moving Text Posted November 24th, 2005 in Game Development

Hmmm....ok. I'll try that in a bit. Any ideas regarding my problems with the moving text?

Response to: Moving Text Posted November 24th, 2005 in Game Development

Breaking the text? What would that do...and if I did would I do that specifically to the text box or to the MC containing the text box?

Moving Text Posted November 24th, 2005 in Game Development

Aaargh! I'm trying to do some moving text for an upcoming Flash Submission of mine but for some reason it wont work. Here's what I have:

Two pieces of text are on seperate layers. Each textbox has been converted to an MC and thirty frames ahead on the timeline I have inserted a keyframe on both layers where they're off screen. For the 28 frames in between the two keyframes I have created a motion tween (once again on both layers).

I've used this method many times before and it's worked. For some reason though, this is time Flash is being stubborn and wont do it. Now that I think about it, it hasnt been letting me fade MC's out either. What could possibly be the problem?

Exactly. Youre jealous and inexperienced. hey, im jealous too. everytime i go into the DnB page of the AP and see ParagonX9's music im so damn jealous that he has so many fans and so many good songs...but i respect him. it takes pure skill to make that music, whether you press buttons with your dick or your finger. and just because im jealous doesnt mean that im going to criticize all his music and his chosen genre like an arrogant dickhead who thinks he knows everything. my point is, we all know your jealous so stop making excuses like "DnB isnt really music" just so you say something bad at an incredible genre of music. And secondly, unless your Slash, Eddie Van Halen, Tony Iommi or any other rock god and/or music idol who actually knows what he's talking about when it comes to music...stfu.

I started working on some more dance music, but I got so distracted by this piano duet that I had to finish it before I did anything else.

Grey Skies

A piano solo I wrote over the weekend. Written in A Minor and inspired by Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata". Feedback is appreciated, as this is a new direction in my music.

I've been putting some last minute changes on this one since I announced my 9th song release earlier today. Enjoy!

Response to: 10 years from now.. Posted November 19th, 2005 in Audio

lol, thats not what i meant. im applying to a program for 9th grade (im in 8th) and from then on i might not be dealing with audio at all.

Response to: 10 years from now.. Posted November 19th, 2005 in Audio

dont think ill be doing anything audio wise. im applying to an advanced mathematics and computer science program at some highschool and from then on i think ill be dealing heavily with programming.

lol, 10 years from now (if newgrounds is still up) well be long gone but our music will still live on!
