I dunno, this style seems unique in itself, I got different feedbacks on other places as to what it might come close to. But in the meantime I named it drumstyle, though there are some drum n bass elements in there.
hi there, as the title suggests, I'd like to request that the soundcloud player be enabled for direct play from the link.
The reason being that it would be conveniant to have a quick access song for instance in signatures or in the "review" section or any other of those high traffic forums where seeing so many MAY discourage one from checking all of them out.
I also think it would be neat, because to begin with the audio section has less than the movies and games section (voting doesn't bring your level up, and music generally has less attention than the two others). It'll help a lot of us promote ourselves and have plays transfered.
Especially since it is councelled NOT to post everything we've got on here.
I am aware of all the counter points but eh.=, it'd be innovative and helpful for a lot of us.
It's not like I'm re-inventing the wheel, but I have a peculiar kind of drumstep/Drum n bass that I've been making for the last chunk of sounds. So I call it Drumstyle for convenince's sake.
Here's the first sample.
aaand the song that goes with it :D Let Me Dream!

I tried to make it DnB, it's got the drums alright. But I can't seem to stick to the structure, ever, I end up kinda making my own little thing, sounds a bit jumbled up but, it is getting more coherent.
the high frequency at the beginning, I'm aware of em.
But I ANYWHO, at the moment, whatever drumstyle I make, I wanna input more audio into it to sorta tell a story (not like I could get someone to sing over it)...I'll upgrade the song later.
I'd like some feedback when it comes to what I could do precisely to help structure this piece (but NOT to be exactly like dnb or drumstep ... just, as it is on its own)

In fact, even audio advertising...I would totally not mind having threads STARTED by people wanting to promote their music with some feedback by those interested and talking about it,Yeah, good idea. Let's clog up the audio forum with millions of threads that get bumbed every few seconds. :/
I'm saying that there isn't quite as much in the audio forum that makes it participation worthy, and it is one of many millions of user's opinions
also...a--durr...well, maybe through enough users requesting it, they might change it eventually
also, fuck, sorry for that double post, my internet gets weird
whatcha mean "we can only"?? it's not like they can't change it, the fact that we don't gain anything brings much less motivation to actually review or rate songs...or get any attention towards them for that matter...
Even if one were to just come out and say "if you don't like it...*insert useless sassy snappy couunter*, I still want to point out that no matter how you look at it, having a level up/experiance point does add to the fun of participation...why would music and art be allowed if so many aspects are limited?
In fact, even audio advertising...I would totally not mind having threads STARTED by people wanting to promote their music with some feedback by those interested and talking about it, rather than a million page long thread (proof of that being I check those locked up topics from those who don't know the rules yet, seeing as they take the time to make it nice n cosy before the thread gets locked up) -_-, rather than jut technical stuff that's borderline boring to participate in D:.

For me, Knowing the theory WOULD make the difference between taking 5 minutes to create the note sequence I want...and taking 30 seconds (instead of looking for the note on the piano roll, I'd just clickety it then know instently which one to click next...then get creative with it knowing that certain combinations are meant to work together like that for certain feels)

Hating on someone for no reason other then the fact he's big. Obviously only listened to one track of his.
Tell me how in a million years this, sounds anything like this or this.
...seems to me like you picked that one sentence and didn't read the rest ._. ... there is reason behind it, in fact.
Ah, yeah, also...let's all admit here that we're hating on skrillex (yes, I do it too) cuze he's mainstream and everywhere...when I first heard his song "I want to kill everybody in the world" and that bayonneta dubstep...I was like "this fuckin' man...is a genious, and he doesn't label himself a dubstep artist, he doesn't know the fuck he makes, he just makes it"
then I heard his music 100s of times EVERYWHERE...and started spotting some repetition in his synth usage and started getting a little antsy
then I heard it 100s more times and realized by then that even while the composition was good, his sound eally clear...his shit was clogging up my ears and his shit started to all sound the same to me, drops after drops afte drops...and that the drums just weren't cool, just regular 4/4 drum beat with a liiiiiittle fast but clear tutuTAM every now in then.
then afterwards I got sick of his shit, period, didnt wanna know who or what or when, and when I heard it I'd get irritated cuze there was a lack of variety in american music :{

oh, if someone could drop off some youtube links for whatever way to correct some errors you may want to point out, that'd be swell
Alright Step you make perfectly valid point, I guess it really was never that big a deal to begin with xp.
This thread was actually a really good idea, I don't think it'd clog up your portal that hard to input stuff that'd work, since people come on here and want to listen to the type of music they can really think they'd enjoy/know about.
Trap is prominant
Mombathon is VERY prominant in every club and lounges, even moreso in europe (Afrojack does mombathon in some of his songs...bangduck)
Bro you don't even have an "Experimental" Electronic section for all those who fancy they'd want one genre, but don't want to be stuck with one thing only
Hardstyle/Hardcore is SO prominant atm o.o
and yet...you have one called "chipstep"...I won't even try to pretend that "if I don't know it, it's not prominent"...it might be...buuuut liiiiike x_x, I'd bet that's a sub-type of Chiptune o_o.
all that being said (I just didn't like how the other user got shut down like that), a proposition for your portal would be to let people pick one of your genres...but also have, in every genre an "other: PLEASE SPECIFY" section...just to make it easier on everyone, and to save time, because your options are very limited o.o.
ah yeah, guys, one more thing, a sugestion rather, there should most deffo be an option to see download counts for songs!!!

I take for fucking ever to make a song, but they all have their own unique soundscapes. Then again, Trancecrafter does something similar and he NEVER finishes anything but I think he's just a perfectionist.
lol at the first paragraph XD
I have a friend like that, he did manage to finish ONE song though..............AAANNNNNNNNNND as I was fetching the link, it got blocked on youtube for copyright bullshit...I thought remixes didn't get blocked so long as the singer was credited -_-
I always start with templates...only thing is when I make House/Electro, I have specific massive sounds i created that I modify afterwards to be different than the last song I used it in ^_^, that's easier
there is this one song I won't really put on newgrounds, but I think I'd like to get known one day, just cuze I'm not sure what to cathegorize it, but it does mesh well together :D
then a dance song that's got a bass I like that I just uploaded : ]
