Haha! Very true, also wouldn't you like having a turkey with a Santa hat drinking a pint with pico? I was also wondering about the problem of possibly sending someone an Xmas card who doesn't celebrate xmas :/ I'll definitely be keeping mine "generic holiday" or include references to a bunch of religions/holiday stuff so it works with whoever.

This is great, really cool idea ReNaeNae! I'm definitely down for this, I just have a quick question: When you give us the random address, do we know who the card we send is going out to? It's pretty cool if it's just a random address, but if we know the user we can make the card a bit more personalized. I think either way will be fun, just curious.

Flippin' sweet looking so far! This is really a great idea for a project Vero, and it showcases your cartoon-style in a way I haven't seen before. While it is still sketchy, it is done in a very clean fashion, which is very pleasing to the eye. A heaping pile of thanks to you for including me in there, I really like the design and never thought of my username looking like that! XD

Finished product is going to be so incredibly badass, I think it will make for a killer desktop wallpaper when it's done, so keep at it my friend!

Okay, throwing in my 2 cents before voting is over:

1 - To Blam and Protect - J-qb made some phenomenal line work, really creating a great atmosphere and setting, and M-Vero's coloring gave it an impressive super-hero feel to it. I love the glowing force field, the premise and idea behind it, and depth given to the piece by the close up bird. Well done guys!

2 - Betty Bouffant - The Rise of Madam Dread - ReNaeNae and Temariix really came together well with this one. The idea of hair-doo based characters is quirky and fun, I bet some other bad guys would have had some nasty beards or something! Nae's linework and character is just as clean as ever, and Tem's evil character really makes for a creepy baddy, and is also done very well. I really like how the Betty is done in red, and Madam dread is dark green, great complimentary colors to add to the difference between them! Sweet deal ladies!

3 - Manray and The Dirty Bubble idiot-monarch provided a great setup and goofily awesome characters, while Nekow's coloring is brilliant like always. They just look SO evil, I can almost hear the maniacal laughter going on. I really like the light source coming from Bikini Bottom too, makes it kinda spooky

- - - - -
(in no order)

Zanroth and Knocturne - I like the perspective you were going for, but I think it could have focused on the characters a bit more. I also don't really know what is going on with the huge black side-bar. The coloring is good, I really like how the sky was done, and the decrepit feeling of the building.

Crypto-Deadcorpse - Pretty cool style how they are drawn out, I just think the coloring could have been a bit more dynamic than 2 shades of each color. The zombie-esque feel of it is nice, although I don't really know if it is "super-hero" like. The crazy eyes really freak me out too, creepy! :p

Mecha Boobs - Freakin' hilarious! I laughed pretty hard the first time I saw this, I really wish you and Flashy could have gotten together on this, I bet it would have been epic! The idea behind it is sheer genius, and I salute you for following through in light of your partner having potential rabies (you're in our thoughts Gregory)

Pop- Princess and the Soloist - The idea is cool, and I really enjoy the perspective of the characters, and how cleanly they were drawn out. Good colors and character designs as well. I really want one of those flaming guitars!

I Think You're Ash, Man - Props to Kreu-Zung for getting this done, and even ashman for making something in time. Cool concept with the fire starters, but It would have been nice to have some more differences between the characters. The coloring is pretty well done too, very smooth looking, almost like a clay figure, I would love to see more stuff colored and shaded like that!
- - - - - - - - -

Well done, Teams! Voting closes in two hours, I'll post the winner on my userpage or something as well as in here, since i dont know if It warrants a whole new thread. Doubles 10 is delayed for a bit, so go participate in some cool stuff going on around the forum instead!

You've come a hell of a long way Snake, I must say I'm liking these new pieces, you are starting to grasp some really good techniques. Definitely keep working on human poses/faces, but also use your creativity as well. I really like that demon one you just posted, it reminds me of a sticker or something.

Basically just keep at it, you are only going to improve by leaps and bounds from now on the more and more you draw/paint. Everything doesn't have to be a finished piece either, try out just sketching whatever comes to mind and if its no good just start over until you get something you would like to work with more. The beauty of digital art is that nothing needs to be permanent, it's not like you need to re-gesso a canvas or start totally over, control-Z is your best friend as a digital artist.

I don't know why I'm giving you random tips, perhaps because you remind me of myself when I first started out, but anyways keep up the good work old friend!

Me and the Nougat give you. . ..

Perfect Storm

Two badass crazy energy powered ladies, with a taste for violence. They wield sharp weapons and even sharper ego's. These girls won't give you a second chance to re-think dumping them, trust me.

We didn't really give them individual names though did we? Meh. Mines on the left, Nouggie's is on the right, and I threw together the sloppy filter raped background and text.

Props to Nougat for a GREAT idea, color scheme, title, and artistry. I had a lot of fun with this round, and I hope you all did too!

Please view the Higher Res. version in the portal!

4 Hours left, then voting begins! I'm thinking we should hold off on Doubles 10 as well, there are plenty of great threads going on to join up in, and if we take a break it will probably bring in a larger/newer crowd when its up again. Probably a month or so. If you are totally against this lemme know, because I have no problem hosting it for you guys/gals, I just think it might be time for a snooze.

Wow! Very well done ladies! That's some quality super-heroine justice right there, I'm gonna have to order a copy for sure! I really like how you put it on a DVD box as well, gives it a nice creative touch. Please tell me the first episode is titled "Bad Hair Day."

Arghh, well -10 cool points for Gassy, but it's cool that you are going to try and finish it on your own. If you are feeling like you need some vengeance, why not make Gassy the bad guy :p

So we've got about two and a half days left, I know me and Nougat are coming along nicely and I hope the other teams are as well, lets get this rolling!

Pertaining the Doubles 10 - I don't know if there will still be as much interest in it, with the game collab in the works and the XMAS thread up, so if not too many people seem to be wanting it I may just leave it for a bit. Otherwise I have no problem hosting and sorting and such, but I won't be participating so I can get some work into said events. Let me know what you guys want to do if you can!

Definitely agree, I think going for a badass type of level rather than silly would be much better.

It's kinda hard to get a solid understanding of making the realistic looking machines, but that website that MC provided in the game thread is pretty helpful, I feel like I am getting it more the more I draw, so here's a few rough starts to grasping our topic, nothing special, just want to see if I am moving in the right direction.

Sweet teams! I just got a read through BoM's game layout page, and it sounds like it's going to be very well done. Once you assign team-leaders, I think it might be a good idea to dedicate a part of their user-page for team communication.

Or maybe we can just get an "ArtForumShmup" account made, with different news posts for each level, that way it's basically like a mini-forum for everyone involved.

This really is very exciting though, it will definitely be the most elaborate and legendary thing to have come from the art forum!

Sadly that's not what sucho is talking about. While Cintiq's are freaking awesome (I got to use one for my junior and senior years of college) they are not portable in the sense that they still need a computer and operating system to function. You can't just take the tablet around with you and be able to draw, it needs power.

I definitely believe that wacom or some big company like microsoft or apple will come out with an on-screen tablet PC that is specifically geared for digital artists in the future though. If you could just pack up one of those Cintiq's and pop on the power and draw away in photoshop outside, or on the plane or a car ride that would be sweet. I know there are tablet PC's out there, but none that I know of with the functionality and preciseness of a wacom.

Holy crap, way too much bitching in here.

Look, if you and your partner are being fussy, PLEASE do it through PMs, the rest of us don't need to be involved in your quarrel. It is without a doubt possible that teammates won't get along, but try and work through it; learn to look past the stupid things and just get progress towards your goal.

I also understand that lack of communication can be frustrating, especially when you really want to participate, but not everyone's schedules are perfect so, just give them a chance.

I hope the rest of the teams are coming up with some slick ideas for this!
