There has been a rumor going around that I like this girl. Normally I wouldn't really care, but the only problem is that this rumor is true. I haven't asked her out because I didn't want people to find out that I liked her and frankly I didn't think I had a chance with her. Circumstances are different now so my approach to the situation should also be different. Friends of mine have said it was just obvious by the way I acted that I liked this chick. I don't know whether I can ask her out because I've never asked out a chick before and I would probably fail epically at it. Mutual friends say that she doesn't know, but she has been acting strangely around me lately so she might. Then again, I fail at analyzing people.

So, from a purely tactical standpoint, and I do put it in those terms because I am a fucking narcissist, what should I do? How do I respond when people ask me to confirm/deny the rumor, and should I just go for it and ask her out?
