I like how the .gif can look like it's either facing upwards with its arm towards the heavens or facing downwards, with its arms towards the ground.

I'm going to vote boy.

I agree with the points FrostedMonkeyFlakes has made. Another way to make it look less flat is to play around with her shadow. Try lowering it and not making it directly behind her. Play around with the size of the shadow, long, short, wide, skinny. The shadow itself can have different tones of gray. To see how a shadow falls, you can look at other anime work to use as a guide (obviously not copy the exact work, just use it as a reference). Other than that, I think you're off to a good start :)

Oh! Those are very beautiful! It's so hard for me sometimes to let go and do really quick 30 second gestures. I get too picky about the way they look and then get frustrated lol. But yeah, those are very nice :) Thank you for sharing :D

Oh yeah! I forgot to mention. Feel free to submit your own figure drawing too! I love looking at other people's artwork :)

Yeah, the lines are a bit rough. I've been told that my drawings are "eerie" or "creepy" because I put a lot of emotion into them. Other people say I have a very organic style, I honestly don't feel comfortable drawing smooth lines, it's just not me and I try to do what seems natural haha. I agree, it is a bit hard to make out what consists of the bottom half of the body, I'll have to be more aware of that when I draw sitting poses. And these are a mix of recent drawings as well as drawings from the summer.

I've never really had an art class until a figure drawing class I took this past summer, so I'm not superb at it or anything. Anyways, here some lovely drawings of nude models-

p.s Please excuse me if I come off as a n00b because I am new to this whole forum posting thing.

Enjoy!

Response to: Tell me what you think (Drawings) Posted January 10th, 2012 in Art

I believe that the face of this human like creature is very interesting. But, I agree with the other posts. It looks unfinished. I would love to see the rest of the body, or if you really just wanted to focus on the head/face, blow it up (what I mean is make it larger...) So you could draw a larger face and add more detail to it. I think you're off to a good start though :)
