I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The BC is failing in it's stated purpose, and I would say that's because of a few reasons:

1) too many freaking members! It's next to impossible to discipline 600 odd members (those are valid complaints from the BC admins that I am using here)

2) The club was formed for the wrong reasons: MI4 simply formed this club to get really popular and have people kiss his ass, not that I'm saying thats whats going on but that's why he started it.

3) Some adminastrative incompetence: This comes back to the discipline thing, some adminastrators in the BC seem like they're to busy worrying about their public image and recruitting more people, then with weeding out the bad members.

ECWMark, you have no right to say that about our leader! MI4 organizes sessions, helps other members, and is extremely reasonable! He didn't do it for popularity!

If you wanna argue, at least know about the topic.

I stand by what I said, and I will give you my reasons why, and I apologize for not doing so earlier, your right, if I want to argue, I must make my argument clear.

My main reasoning is how M14 came into the thread where Strawberry Clock was basicly raging about how stupid everybody was wondering where he had been for those two years. M14 came in and just wrote a stupid post trying to "reform" Strawberry Clock and the obvious intent was so that he could claim himself as "the man who reformed Strawberry Clock and the Clock Crew" Pathetic.

As per your arguments, what you think the guy is gonna treat you like shit? You wanna get popular you gotta work for it. I'm not saying he dosen't believe in blamming bad movies, but he set this club up as a way to make himself look like a fucking genius for starting it...I'm also curious as to why if he is such a great leader (and your actually the only BC member I know of who has called him such) he hasn't come in here to answer to any of the charges that EZ3 or myself or any of the other posters have leveled, I've heard from many upper levels of the BC which ranged from actual discussions with me about policy and procedure, to just flat-out ignoring this thread. To those who responded, I think those are the people who truly believe in the BC...to those who ignored it, well I guess we know how deeply your convictions run now don't we?

I guess just trying to kind of have something where people can get together, talk bitch, voice concerns, maybe say like "gee this movie is bad, we should blam it" or like "gee this movie is good, but the scores are low" something to try and benefit the site, I've been kind of big on that for awhile, I don't think people have enough fun around here sometimes you know? I've thought part of the problem was groups dividing people, and maybe there's some validity to that, so I figured well maybe here's a way to bring folks together, and maybe counter some of the more rotten things that get done by some of the people in BC and CC and whatnot.

Yeah, I've been getting errors on just about everything I try to do for the last couple of days. I haven't been able to deposit experience in two days because of all the damn errors when I voting and I just give up in frustration.

I've been thinking lately about forming some kind of a new group, after watching the mistakes of things like the Clock Crew and the BC...I think maybe it's time to try and combine some of the best ideas from all the groups on NG and try to use them towards some kind of positive good...anyway I know this is something of a deviation from the topic, but I'd like to hear what people think about that, and maybe I'll make some kind of official post about it if there's any interest.

I agree that there should be more moderation but i dont think that normal users should get the power because they would be Bias to the topics they delete and lock since they either dont like the author or the topic idea the moderators should be the people working at NG but should come check more often

Um, I'm still not sure why people think we need mods...like I say don't like spammers? Ignore them when they try and spam a topic and they go the hell away. Don't like fighting? Stay out of threads that will promote it (and those types of threads are quite obvious to even the most dim-witted folks).

If people follow this, we're fine...besides like Wade says only about 1% of the total "population" for lack of a better term actually uses this BBS. For the most part, I think it's the best users (with some minor exceptions) we can police ourselves, everybody should be old enough and mature enough to do so...and the fact is if mods were elected it would probably be users not folks working for NG, because a) NG is understaffed right now and adding more folks to work here could possibly cost more money and b) Tom and Wade to avoid this or some other thing, seem content to rely upon users to handle certain aspects of the site (like contacting the BC or gen pop NG to handle blamming of movies which cheat).

So my point is, it WOULD wind up being NG users working as our mods, and it seems to be pretty unanimous we don't want that...so I would say as cryptic so eloquently put it, stfu, we can police ourselves, this topic is irrelavant.

I think the idea of havings moderators is a good idea. The bbs would be much more orderly, and there wouldn't be any topics such as spam or something hateful like racism. I would be a good mod and I would be more then happy to become one if asked.

Here's an interesting trend I noticed: seems like the only people agreeing with the idea of mods...want to become mods themselves...that's really interesting.

Mods will just create more problems...because the first time somebody gets their topic deleted their going to try to rally the whole BBS against the mods...and pretty soon it'll be BBS vs. Mods (I've seen it happen before). Mods are unnecessary, spammers aren't that out of control, the fighting isn't that out of control (don't wanna fight? Don't post in those threads).

Now if we're serious about going with mods, I say Wade should pick 'em and SHOULD NOT pick people who are campaigning for the job, because if they're campaigning to get it, then I think they obviously want it for all the wrong reasons, and that's what will lead to the aforementioned BBS vs. Mods scenario I forsee...we don't need mods...leave things the way they are, I think everybody is mature enough to post to a BBS with the kind of freedoms this one has...and if not, well then they should be ignored or leave. Now I've said before when you get to be like you know, our levels 7 and up, I think you now have more of a responsibility to rack up experience points by voting on five DIFFERENT movies everyday, voting in the top fifty to rack up experience points is just stupid to me. It's not just the BC's job to clean up bad movies on NG it's everybodys job...I agree there should be another blamming threshold (maybe even two or three more) but I also think something should be done about users who only vote on the same movies over and over, every day.

Yeah, I know my pics probably look bad, but all I got is fucking paint, and I try to make them look as good as I possibly can, plus I like to be original and not use the same kind of stuff that other people keep recycling (like the aforementioned cup of shut the fuck up) anyway, this is the newest one I did, and contained the least amount of work, I touched up my sandman one so hopefully that looks a little better...and the ECW logos remain unchanged.

I think that's a good idea, but I'd also like to interject this:

Now I've said before when you get to be like you know, our levels 7 and up, I think you now have more of a responsibility to rack up experience points by voting on five DIFFERENT movies everyday, voting in the top fifty to rack up experience points is just stupid to me. It's not just the BC's job to clean up bad movies on NG it's everybodys job...I agree there should be another blamming threshold (maybe even two or three more) but I also think something should be done about users who only vote on the same movies over and over, every day.

yeah, I mean I get what you're saying here, we're acting like the world should stop (well some of us anyway).
