I hear what you're saying, any preference towards writers? I know some people really are starting to get down on him, but Geoff Johns is still probably the best super hero comics writer out there write now, he's really done a great job of fixing the mistakes DC made with the JSA, but still not really contradicting the events of the stories previously.

That's a tough call, I think I'm probably digging Alex Maleev the most, but he needs to be on the right project for his style to really be appreciated. Clayton Craine's art really took me by surprise in Ghost Rider, guy just seemed to come out of nowhere. But sadly, I think I usually wind up paying more attention to who's writing the book vs. who's drawing it.
This has been done many, many, times before.

Going to check it now.
Actually SDG, Psycho IS based on a true story, the story of a serial killer named Eddie Gein, he was also one of the models for Buffalo Bill in Silence Of The Lambs.
We don't allow that sort of thing on here, see our rules regarding sites like Outwar.
You need rules for a club, you also need to just generally make it look like a club not just "I like this thing, who else does too?"

Yeah, they'll figure out a way to get it changed and promoted, TNA has some really good teams, it's gonna be fun to see them work with Team 3D
At 9/21/05 08:13 PM, Outlaw88 wrote: but what about their names? Last I heard, WWE owned the rights to the names The Dudley Boyz, Bubba Ray, and D-Von. Will they have to go by new names?
From what D-Von has said, Vince can't take his name, since Devon Hughes is his real name. I think that in this case Vince is only claiming a trademark on the name "Dudley" I'm not sure how much further it extends in their case, but I know in the case of Matt Hysen (Spike Dudley) he's been blocked from using any iteration of his original name. I assume they'll call themselves "Team 3D" as they been on the indies for awhile now, and honestly, TNA will have plenty of oppurtunity to get their faces out there with the change to their name, and the smart thing to do would be to do that immediately, as this is a huge signing for them.

Please join me in congratulating the former Dudley Boyz on their multi-year TNA contracts that they've just signed. Way to go boys!!! Can't wait to get to watch them in action again, in a company that will use them right.

I can't remember what the buyrate was on it, but it's definitely happening again, rumored to be the same format. Vince as you know dosen't give up on the concepts he really likes (look at how he keeps trying get that Narcissist gimmick over), no matter how unprofitable they may become.

Psssh, I'm sure you have many friends on the BBS. But yeah, Psycho is excellent excellent work. The thing is though, is that some people wouldn't classify it as horror, they'd classify it as more of a thriller, which I can see. But I can also see the arguement for it being horror, what do you think? And by You I don't just mean SDG, I'm opening this up to anybody who has ever seen the movie.
Something bad will happen to her eventually, Karma is a bitch that way, if you however would like to be responsible for her fucking, here's what you do:
Call up the customer service number for Mcdonald's (you can have a friend go in and buy something so you can get the number off a receipt or something), and tell the higher up's that she just cost that store customers because of some grudge that she has against you, they'll fire her ass, and you'll be unbanned. Much hot guy looking at shall ensue. At least, I think that'd work.

It's not really about being a good runner or a bad runner, it's that you just physically can't get passed a certain barrier because your airways are closing off...was great when they said asthmatics didn't have to do the mile anymore, it's embarrassing as hell when you're the last kid to finish because you've gotta walk the last bit of the way :(
I'm expecting to do around a 6 min. mile by the end of the month.
Awesomeness, good luck with that.

Anyway I have been running a lot lately. A lot. I actually did a nonstop 5.5 mile today along with a 1.75 mile warmup, and some resistance strength training aka pushups. I'm definitely getting into shape by the end of September, I already have improved my mile time by over 1 minute in only two weeks. (6:29 is my mile time in case you want to know.)
I got tired just reading about that, I could never run very well, asthma and all. To do your sort of runnage would be lethal to me.

I have another morning tommorow, 9-6 shift, so if I could trouble the folks reading tonight, if they're here tommorow between those times, and see her post, to let her know that I'm working. I would appreciate it muchly.

At 9/20/05 10:18 PM, BareNakedMike wrote: How come the guy who plays Jason isnt really publicly known like Robert Englund is?
Because three guys have played Jason, most notably Kain Haudder (sp?). Kain's a stuntman though, not a real actor per se, he makes a cameo in Daredevil (you'll find him sitting next to Fallin during the fight Battlin Murdock was supposed to lose). Englund is a great character actor who's done a lot of good films outside of Freddy (included The Mangler, which has Ted Levine, who played Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs, in the lead role). Not to mention Kain is a bit of a dick from what I understand. An old friend of mine's former brother in law does some indy film, has for a few years (nothing I think anybody here would have ever heard of, Charles Chickens was one, and I forget what the other one or two were), anyway, he knows a lot of people through doing this (like George Romero). Anyway, he went to a signing that Haudder was doing, got an autograph (which I think he paid like 30 bucks for) and then because he needed some cash, decided to sell it on ebay. Damn near got sued by Haudder over the whole thing, because Haudder didn't like what he saw as money taken out of his pocket, which I can see what he's saying here, but the fact is that the autograph was paid for, so it's property of the seller.
I know the guy in Freddy vs. Jason is a new dude they got for this flick, can't remember his name. But I think that's why Englund is more well-known, you can't have Freddy without Englund, and as the series went along, he was actually doing more and more of his own stunts, because they just couldn't get a stunt man who could pull the stuff off and not be an obvious switch from Englund.

I heard that too, if you listen to the commentary for the flick, at the end, Robert Englund (Freddy) runs down the three big rumors at the time, and how far they were from fruition:
Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash (from the Evil Dead trilogy): Was batted around, not much seriously said though. Did hear that they had gone as far as asking Sam Raimi for permission to use the character (since Sam owns that stuff) and he supposedly signed off, Bruce Campbell was also supposedly contacted, but I think it may have died out after that.
Freddy's origin: A movie which would have covered Freddy's life and end with his death in the boiler room. A movie that was almost greenlit to hear Englund talk about it. Conversations were had, and he was ready and raring to go, but looks like it's pissed out.
I think the last was just another Freddy vs. Jason, which was basically just another that had been batted about, almost greenlit, but not sure what the status of any of these projects are right now.

Ok? Ok. Looks like everyone saying Hardy will lose are indeed right, as Edge is right now in the promotional commercials for Taboo Tuesday, although these things are done well in advance, so there's always the slim chance this means nothing.

Bischoff has no interest in winning the thing, he'd win it, then give it to his "boy" Angle, that's how these sorts of storylines go.

On the budget it was made on? It'd work. You hear the horrors sorrounding making it? Yes. The problem is that it made a lot of money, even first released, this was not one of those movies that bombed in theater, but found it's audience later (which is what usually makes a cult film a cult film). So I think that's why you can't call Elm Street cult, that and all the sequels and the way Freddy has become so iconic. Oh, and don't let Elm Street 2 put you off watching the others, 2 isn't one of the strongest of the bunch:
Good Elm Streets: 1, 3, 4 (most critics hate this one, but I think it's a pretty fun movie, and it worked for me), 5, 7 (Wes Craven's New Nightmare)
Not so good, but still better then most Jason and Michael Myers flicks: 2 and 6 (Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare)
I also thought Freddy vs. Jason is pretty good and fun for what it is.
Give with a source, because I watched the news earlier and heard nothing like this.
Tough call, I guess just tell her how you feel, but don't become "the other guy" if she says she feels the same and will date you, make sure she breaks up with the boyfriend first.

Fat chance, but hey...
I think there's a possibility he'll win with Angle's interference, but that Vince will then come out, overturn it, make himself the ref, screw Bischoff over, and then knock his on his ass.
