I have found an intuos2 tablet that my mom lost the pen to years ago. With replacement pens so expensive, I could just upgrade to a bamboo without spend much more money than I would buying a pen.

So my question: would upgrading from the intuos2 to the bamboo be a good choice?

Look up flixel. If you're making pixel games, thats the best (and free) way to go.

You have to ask right before exams...Why?

lol

But yeah, i could do it. I'm pretty good with pixel art and FbF.

What you want to do is put a line of reference for its feet hit like This. It's a little choppy because I slowed it down to 12 frames instead of the 24 it was made at so you could see it better, but whatever :P

Reading through this, Chillyphilly is completely right. The kid just wanted some feedback, not to be told by some pretentious A-hole 14 year old (Mikey ;o) how he'll never make in the world of animation because he isn't doing perfect stretches and skews.

Maybe he doesn't want to be the best animator ever born. MAYBE he just wants to make some little cartoons to show his friends, improving in the process. I think some of you guys are taking this WAAY to seriously, treating a website that is pretty much a place where COCK JOKES gather as a high-class snob fest.

It might also help if you guys made real suggestions instead just copy and pasting things from The Animator's survival Kit (It's a fantastic book, but you reference it like a bible).

tl;dr- Some people can be dicks.

/end rant.

Anyways....OP, just keep practicing. You'll find something that works if you keep at it. Thats probably one of the things you'll actually take away from HDXmicheal's response.

Good way to import movie. Posted October 29th, 2009 in Game Development

So I made a small movie in flash for school. What would be a good way to get it watchable on my teachers computer?

I can't use Youtube, and I don't know if he can watch a straight up .swf on his computer. Does windows media player play .flv's? But then again, I'm not sure if he has the media player either.

anyways, help would be appreciated.

Response to: Need pixel artist for new game Posted October 13th, 2009 in Game Development

Hey, I'd love to do art for you. I already drew up some sprites in different styles, just to get an idea of what your looking for at Here. For some other stuff, just look down.

I made this for a friend

A zombie game I'm working on

My first game. It was never finished due to lack of programming ability :(

A chainsaw the Children DEMAKE.

A Beat 'um up game I plan on making

I have more stuff thats not pixel art that can actually show my animating skills. Just ask if you want to see.

It's a "demake" like howGang Garrison 2 is a demake to Team Fortress 2, if that answers your question.

My thoughts exactly.

The plan was to basically "demake" the game, so in that way, I appreciated the comments.

But if you're just here to insult, and not actually help ( either through collaboration or explaining why the art is so unappealing), then I would appreciate if you didn't even respond.

So I drew up some Chainsaw the children sprites one day during the summer, and I think That it would made for a good remark game. I put together a little loop HERE. I guess just respond if you want to collaborate.

Nevermind, I found a programmer.

Po3 Programmer needed Posted June 2nd, 2009 in Game Development

Hey, I'm looking for a programmer for Po3. I've already got a musician(LiquidOoze), and i'll be doing the art, but we're missing the last piece of the puzzle.

The idea is to make a homage to the"The Lost Vikings" game. If you haven't heard of it, the game has you control three characters to solve puzzles and such. For a better picture, look it up on youtube.

Anyways, I made a quick concept flash to show the characters which can be seen here- http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/020609/5 2779_Lost_bots_concept.php

I'm open to other ideas too, and would love to hear them.

That looks pretty cool. If you tell me what kind of music you would like to have, tell me so I can start already :)

Well, I'm not to sure if anyone will be programming, so I wouldn't you to make music for naught.:(

Why do you need a programmer, just use that engine.

Duh

I would use the engine if it could easily switch through three characters and use all of their abilities. I definitely don't have the know-how to do something like that, so I need a a programmer.

Alright, so I have a good(at least I think so) idea for a power of three game. It's a homage to
"The Lost Vikings" game. If you haven't heard of it, the game has you control three characters to solve puzzles and such. For a better picture, look it up on youtube.

Note that the art in that is just quick concept stuff, so it's not my best.

So if any musicians or programmers would like to team up, that would be great.

Response to: AS2 help Posted April 19th, 2009 in Game Development

Okay, so I tried it, but the debug said that the '&&' needed an operand after it.

On another note, how do you like the game so far?
