Response to: Paid Jobs for Flash ?? Posted May 16th, 2011 in Game Development

In my personal experience, the best way to get work is to make awesome work on your own. When you have something like that under your belt, it's easy finding paying jobs.

haa.

Response to: Good books to read? Posted May 16th, 2011 in General

My favorite novel I recommend to everyone is Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. If you're looking for a good candy-read, I love David Sedaris. Right now I'm thumbing through Glass Castle and it's pretty alright.

I also like Ben Lee's acoustic version.

He was only about 12 when he wrote that song. Now he has a solo career.

You guys can go ahead and submit until 4am (Central GMT-6) because of my lateness getting started.

And I love that morse code game, so cool! Can't wait to see it finished.

It's in Flash 8, soooo, it would be really nice if someone would convert it for AS3 users.

What about black or white?

You can only use three colors: red, yellow and blue.

I don't recognise the team name. Did you mean: Team DistantSun?
So kind of like the character walks on the walls kind of deal? Or the whole screen actually moves?

Yeah, Team DistantSun lol. I think you posted that revision immediately after this thread was created.

You should cause the player to have to do this (or at least want to do that). They don't literally have to spin their monitor, but maybe they will have to cock their heads in the heat of gameplay.

It will be hindering your game's aesthetic value more than gameplay. If you use it right, you can make everything pop real well.

Response to: ACT Scores!? Posted April 3rd, 2011 in General

I got a really low score but still managed to get a lot of scholarship money. It does hold you back a lot, though. It'd probably be in a very different place if I had a higher score.

Team Radio
Programmer: potatopower
Artist: OOGIDIBA

Musician: HalcyonicFalconX
Theme: Goths climbing slimey butchers.

Team Rude Boy
Programmer: PaggosIchor
Artist: Keith

It was first come, first serve, but looks like anyone who wasn't a programmer made it in. (Sorry guys, there is a pretty unfair programmer/artist ratio here.) I suggest that all the programmers get together and make a sick programming collaboration.

Good luck guys, kick some ass!

Response to: Game Jam #2 Submission Thread Posted December 31st, 2010 in Game Development

Anything submitted after this point is late to the party! Congrats on a great jam, guys.

If you didn't get your game finished on time, you should go ahead and finish and submit it because it will still be added to the collection, and will overall be awesome for everyone.

Edmund McMillen and Tom Fulp will be judging the winners this next week!

Also, I'm going to be creating a blacklist of all the people who decided not to show up. If you got a name, PM it to me, please.
