What about the conept of making some type of collaboration with iTunes as well. Who knows, maybe even some of the local NG artist will get picked up and make their big break.

There are a lot of good artists in the audio portal and witnessing their interjection into the industry would be nice. Besides, we could use some new performers in the charts. Just a thought. ;D

Thanks Kirk. That sounds about the kind of answer I was looking for. Now I can move forward with my infrastructure and design for gameplay.

Yes/No: Is it possible to make a flash game that accepts inputs from two different inputs that can be seperated by variable IP addresses for a multiplayer functionality? (e.g. Two-Player Online multiplayer)

I'm sure there are plenty of places to go perfrom collaborations. NG is a good place to get a decent start either way. But sometimes you've got to expect some artists to get all pre-madonna on you so you've got to make sure you give them an idea with plenty of things to run off of.

If you're looking to make a centralized concept, try giving a set level of guidlines and make sure you communicate what level of quality you're looking for.

I just finished working in a collab today (I hope) and the nice thing was that it was pretty open to what the artists could do. But I think now I'll be looking to involve myself in projects that will make me push my limits. That way I can make new ones.

Who know collabs could be so much work, right? lol

This has a lot of potential. A lot of potential.

I've got a couple of suggestions so take it a along the constructive deptartment...

1. Don't forget the basics.
2. Characters: Make sure you get some good character development in there. It'll allow your artists to create a more personalized environment and give the opportunity for each characters diferent aspects to be more apparent in everything from what they wear to how they react to everything.
3. Writers (and brainstoring): Once you get your team assembled get together and flesh out everything in writing. Let's face it, you dealing with a bunch of creative minds. Once you put them all together you can make something truly amazing.
4. You're the boss: You've got the final say but that also means that whatever you choose that ultimtately affects everything. Don't forget to give feedback.
5. Don't forget your people: Don't forget that little pat-on-the-back. It helps boost morale and lets those people that you are paying attention and that you appreciate the work.

Don't forget to have fun.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Take a second to step back from everything about the project as a whole.

After you've accomplished that, move on to the basic elements of what makes a hero. Even if that means the basic elements of the hero. How the individual has been influenced as a person and style.

Are they more of a fighter? A protector of those around them?

Start with the basics and go from there.

Just checked it. Ohs-well. It was really inconsequential to the point as a whole.

I'm just (finally) starting to use flash myself and am going through these similar growing pains. Trying to implement measures that will smooth out the process. Sure I've got over 6 years invested in Photoshop and Illustrator but this still has it's own learning curve.

I looked at both "Alice Beats" and "Circuit Scene 2" and noticed you've got the concept of only 'changing what actually changes' down which is fantastic. But one thing that will help make you get a better feeling for what your putting together in the whole scene is a couple of more in-between frames that smooth out the motion.

This may sound silly but you should try going to the book store and reading in on animation techniques that are used to blend motions or add the additional illusion of motion. But at least you're farther into this than I. I'm still waiting for my pen tablet to come in so for now most of my work is done by heavily relying on paths.

The only flash I've work on so far is just this guy, my 01 - Static Head, which I treated it more like a classroom assignment. But all of it uses two tweens and some minor frame-by-frame. Sometimes keeping it simple works at times.

I'd say look at Chluaids page. (a.k.a. Bitey Castle). He's got a video series up that you might find instructional and inspiring.
