So far I've got:
Badfish - Sublime
Love Reign O'er Me - The Who
The Ocean - Led Zeppelin
Ocean Man - Ween
Octopus's Garden - The Beatles
The Rain - Yusuf Islam
The Rain Song - Led Zeppelin
Wouldn't it be Nice - The Beach Boys
Yellow Submarine - The Beatles
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! It doesn't matter if it doesn't lyrically refer to water/oceans/rain, as long as the music and melody itself are suggestive of it is good enough.
As far as this strategy is concerned, it will alienate the hardcore Christian groups the Republican Party needs to survive and will be the subject of ridicule by many, many liberals (like me!).
From the article: "Eugene H. Krabs, the Owner of Krusty Krab Restaurant ... is known for being extremely cheap ... is the perfect example of the small businessman that these children will eventually work for."
it's nice to know that Republicans want children to work for greedy businessmen.
The thing about Republicans is that the US is on the brink of collapse. All of Wall St is destroyed, and has been for quite some time, and regardless of your personal political position the US is heading towards socialism. To some that's good, to Republicans, that's terrible!
Obama is a social democrat, no doubt about it: he wants free health care and a tighter, more regulated economy. However Republicans are overcompensating in their response. The US is in dire need of health reform, but instead of putting their own ideas into the act, most Republicans are trying to halt reform completely in fear that drastic reform will follow if this first step is passed. This is just one of many examples of what is really paranoia the Republicans have.
awesome design, awesome features, I'm really speechless...
the only thing bad with it is when I open a couple of movies, my browser starts lagging... if you could perhaps make the player a little lighter...
good luck
I'm just wondering what fellow NG'ers think about this:
What really did the world gain in the G20? There was no new monetary theory, it was all just the same old stuff they churn out, Obama with public spending, France pointing fingers, etc. Not only this but a wave of unprecedented violence shook London; there are dozens of videos of people trashing windows and destroying property.
Not only this but the huge story of the First Couple meeting the Queen has fed up most, Obama gives the Queen an iPod, Michelle Obama breaks victorian code, I really don't give a damn about the small and little stories that somehow cover most of my morning paper...
And finally, I think most countries walked away from the G20 bitter as ever. Now, the G20 was a planned event that had to take place, but, really, they could have at least tried to make it more interesting and argumentative (France saying it would leave if their demands were not met is probably the most stubborn thing any diplomat has ever said, especially considering the circumstances).
this is why people hate the monarchy, because it just fills up the papers with shit about all the gossip that should be only seen in cheap tabloids, not in the ny post..
many people i know say "learn chinese, they're gonna take over the world soon, chinese will be the new english" but frankly, I think it's a load of bullshit.
first of all, chinese are in a very industrial phase, to have global supremacy, they need to take over on things like commerce and services (something the USSR never learned, and was one of the many many things that caused the downfall)
you may say that China has tall buildings, used for office and commerce, designed by prominent architects like I.M. Pei, Frank Gehry or Rem Koolhaas, but they are saturated in three cities, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Beijing.. they need to revitalize the whole country...
thirdly, the EU is gaining enourmous power, and will soon takeover and buy most US-based and US-owned companies, starting with the purchase of Anheuser-Busch to Brazilian/Belgian Giant InBev...
to solve poverty, humans must become humble
to solve war, humans must become tolerant
human kind is founded on greed and supremacy, even against itself
They don't need to close down bases, just revoke the diplomatic inmunity US soldiers have. simple.
btw, have you seen the family guy episode in which peter discovers his house is not in the US, therefore founds "Petoria" (peterland was taken by a gay club).......? deals with diplomatic inmunity.....

agree! sex is natural, jet li chopping off a chinese guy's head with his foot is not natural....
however, war movies i find incredibly rewarding, in both matureness and entertainment, in fact, I would encourage my kids to watch violent war movies......

sure, they are #1 producers of CO2, but they have 2.3 billion fuckers!!!! per capita that works out to very little CO2 output.... the problem is the US and Europe, their per capita outcome is huge, and if we lowered their output, the world would be greener....
HOWEVER!!!!!!! china is destroying forests, which is bad..... but encourages tree planting, which is good....
in my opinion you need to know your kid, for example, if you give a 5 year old grand theft auto, he might develop criminal patterns, might. but if you know your 5 year old is mature enough to know stealing is bad, let him play and suffice his need to do dirty deeds, therefore he is less violent (has an outlet), learns about the justice system and knows if he gets caught in real life stealing, he is fucked up...
indian reservations where made to neglect these people, not to give them freedom or anything, and I think if they are coming down to this the situation must be bad. For example, do you hear any puerto ricans complaining they're the us's bitch? no, because puerto ricans enjoy a vastly superior lifestlye than most americans (just think about it, no federal tax, good educational system, etc. what else do you want?)
japanese dudes are crazy, a friend of mine used to live there, he says that all of them are crazy.
i don't mean to be offensive to any japanese out there, but remember, this is the same country that told it's own soldiers in WWII to kill themselves by crashing into Allied warships in the Pacific... very nice, huh?
today, july 15th at 1:54 pm, freddie and fannie lost over 20% of stock value in just 4 hours.
this is nothing compared to the near 80% downfall this month
This means if you bought freddie and fannie in February, you are really fucked up now.
if you have bloomberg, watch it, the fight congress has against paulson is worth watching....

you have a very interesting poitn here. same goes for cigarettes, they are available to 100% of adults, yet only 25% smoke them (and the number is decreasing rapidly). same goes for other substances.
effectively, by legalizing, you are controlling and protecting, both the health of the consumer (you think cocaine or is clean?) and a very unprotected market such as children.
However, i believe it has some consequences:
-drug cartels will fight to the last man to avoid this: if it's legalized, they lose. this means violence, a lot of violence....
-there are some moral issues which you cannot evade
-some substances should not be made legal because of their dangerous effects, for example, someone could put ecstasy in your drink in a bar to rape you (if you're a woman) or to loot you (if you are a rich guy who drove in with a brand new bmw)
-drug-tourism, like in holland, destroying the local economy, there are a lot of articles about this, but i'm too lazy to link to them...
in conclusion, i say legalize coke, pot, opium and all of the un-refined beauty God gave us, because he gave us the plants, y'know. however, i say no to refined drugs because that's juts too much...

besides, both countries know Mugabe will fall shortly, he either dies or is deposed

-What would the consequences of a failure of these institutions be?
freddie mac and fannie mae? well, they are the biggest mortgage loaners in the US, that means if they fail, the housing sector fails, and so do thousands of Americans.
-Why does the government promise to back Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? Is there legislation saying the must do so, or is it in the best interests that they do so?
yes, both are gov't sponsored and therefore must back freddie and fannie
-If there is no legislation specifically stating that the government must back Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, how would Congress go about allocating the money legally?
there is, don't worry....
if you still have doubts, search in wikipedia....

I agree that it is a right that must not be infringed, but just that it shouldn't be that easy to get a gun. People should also have a maximum number of guns, therefore decreasing the chances kids get them and shoot each other, among others.

interesting theory.......
oh, and btw, a hobo might be earning more than you!
Just think of it, a hobo gets 25 cents (a quarter) average from passer-bys. Supposing the hobo got 12 donations every hour on average, Mr. Hobo is getting $3 an hour, for a "work" shift of about 12 hours (9 to 9) every day (84 hours per week), Mr. Hobo is earning 3x84= 252 (rounded to $250) per week, around $1000 USD every month. Doubt a McSlave (no offence to anyone who is a McSlave) earns that much....
we must remember Mr. Hobo does not pay rent or any commodities of any sort.
This is untrue, because you are extracting certain phrases that within context are fine and dandy but when alone are quite controversial. Has anyone seen "Homer Badman"?? The Rock Bottom Edit from the episode??? same thing here....

Doubt it, republicans aren't just in DC, they're everywhere!!! so are the kkk
but on the other.... the patriot act is legislation, and can't be "destroyed", but it can be retired or whatever by a congress. To put it another way, if someone nuked the UN Building, that doesn't mean the UN is destroyed, it only means the building is destroyed, PERIOD.
but, yeah, could be a chance at a clean slate, but, of course, with a very costly price.

The US wants to put pressure on Mugabe, using its position as current Head of the Security Council. Bush and Rice want stronger, newer sanctions.
Three London-based companies have faced enourmous pressure because of their planned transactions in Zimbabwe
It looks as if Robert won't last long. I think it won't be long until a foreign journalist is killed and the UN sends in peacekeeping troops. Right now, everybody is against Zimbabwe. The African Union calls the election "rigged" and completely "un-democratic"
So, how long 'till Mugabe is thrown out of office and killed by the angry, angry Zimbabweans?
