I'm reviving this topic because I'm still looking for a composer. I've released the trailer of Zodiac Legacy, which had music with permission of XGM-Zeth and Moogerman from here, and Dev from Overclocked Remix.
But I'd like someone to create all-new music for the game.
Is anyone willing?
I couldn't figure out how to load memorytester, crypt.
I've transferred most of my files onto my desktop, and emailed Macromedia.
Here's hoping they get back to me with something that solves the problem. Until then, I'll work on the desktop.
It'll do the performed illegal operation without anything loaded.
It's a two-year-old Toshiba Satellite with 100 gigs of space. I'm not sure how much RAM it is, nor how to check.
Alright, here's the deal. I'm using Windows XP, and Flash...well, might as well start at the beginning.
Using Flash MX 2004. Works fine. Then, allofasudden, it does the illegal operation bit. Fine. No problem. Close it, load it back up. It does it about 10 minutes into it. Er...ok. Close it, load it back up. Now, 2 seconds into it. WTF? Reboot computer. Load Flash. Works fine for about 2 minutes, then, BAM, illegal operation.
Decide to download a trial of Flash 8 Professional. Install it. Load it. Flash has performed an illegal operation...
By this time, I've called my dad who works at a college in the computer division (computer security, to be exact - hackers watch out! :P) and asked him to bring me a copy of Flash to try reinstalling it. what does he bring me?...old MX. 2002 or whatever. Nonetheless, I install it, load it...and an illegal operation occurs.
Now, is my computer just anti-Flash, or what? I'm in the middle of a project, here, and while I guess I could move to my desktop (I'm using a laptop ATM), much of my work is on this laptop...so...uh...any ideas on how to stop Flash doing the illegal thing?
I've drawn a large shape in Flash, and am trying to fill it in. Short story short, it isn't filling. What's the deal? It's closed...
And this would record what's on the monitor? I know how to record video to the computer, that is, from an outside source of an outside thing; the problem is recording what's on the screen itself! :S
I meant what program to use to record the video. I don't have the file made, yet.
I'd like to make a movie of something on my computer to import into Flash. Problem is, I don't have any programs to do it with. That is, record the movie. Any suggestions?
If this is in the wrong forum, sorry in advance. I was thinking maybe general but it does have to do with Flash...
Ok, I know that you're probably sick and tired of people saying, "GIVE ME ART PLZKTHXBAI", and then whisking away without another word. I'm creating a Flash preview of my video game, and, well...
The fact is, the Flash is almost done.
All it needs are the character images.
Aside from your art being featured (and credited) in the Flash, I'm willing to put your art on the website as well, if you're willing to let me.
This is NOT one of those 'do it or die' art demands. If you don't want to, then don't. There's no obligation. Just a simple request from a girl who'd like some varied art in her preview.
I have some money, as well, and am willing to commission the art (or even a full set of the characters!) if your prices are reasonable and you're decently skilled. While I welcome any and all art attempts, I have to say I'm probably not going to use stick figures or 5-minute doodles. I'd like some quality work, which, as I said, is why I'm willing to pay for it.
Nonetheless, please post a sample of your work.
Right, so I'm working on making a 'play again' button. Here's what I'm using:
on (release) {
gotoAndPlay("2,1");
}
Thing is, it goes to the first scene rather than the second like I want it to. How do I fix this?

Haha, great pic.
And yea, Quist is right. It's in the EU (Expanded Universe) novels.
Ok, here's the deal. I'm trying to start a song in Flash about ten seconds later than it starts, because that first ten seconds is just introduction and I don't want that. Do I have to manually edit the sound, or is there a way to skip those ten seconds and launch immediatly to the other part of the song?
Well, Skywalkers had to start somewhere, ne? Shmi had to have had a mother, and for all we know, the Skywalker name was a prolific one until they all mysteriously died. I blame the Jawas, myself.
And afterwards, with Ben (since Jacen and Jaina were Solos), maybe he had kids. And they had kids. And they had kids...and the Skywalker name once again became a prolific one.
Oh, and I'd like to use Padawan Xiza Hewet as my name. She's an RP character of mine...
Sorry for double-posting.
In order to make the text not scroll so fast as to be unreadable, I need the 'intro' part to be at least 60 seconds.
Hey there.
I need a narrator voice, male or female. I'm not sure which would work best at this point. The lines here - the introduction. It's for the preview flash I plan on making for the game.
And yes, I asked for voice actors a while back. Shock_Dingo, and anyone else who I confirmed it with, if you're still interested in voicing for the game, please let me know! I know I've been a bad person taking a hiatus, but I'm back in action! :)
I'd be happy for any and all pieces. Right now, though, I'm looking for a piece that I can use for my flash preview that will be released before the demo. I'll try to describe what I want as best I can, but I don't want to restrict anyone's artistic ability. If you feel that you can create something - go for it! Even if I don't use it, I'll put you in the credits, and plus you'll have a piece of music that someone else might use.
Essentially, the beginning is similar to the game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night's select screen. That is, with the choir. This is when the 'legend' of the game will be spoken. Then, after a brief pause, the characters will be flashed on the screen along with a little clip for one of their parts in the game, along with a piece of art of them. I'm hoping for some epic music here, so Zeth, this may fit your style perfectly. After this is another 'calm' part.
The piece I have sort of been using is Kingdom Heart's 'Another Side', although in the past I used the Legend of Legaia's introductory music. Maybe a sort of mixture of the two? Or, better yet, something completely original. :)
I'll see how quickly I can have a demo out, then.

I believe I linked to the website (Click 'Zodiac Legacy' up there). But anyway, it's at http://www.geocities.com/zodiac_legacy/
Hey there. Would anyone be interested in composing music for a video game I'm making? MIDI or MP3, doesn't matter what format. I'm willing to credit, of course, along with putting a cameo in the demo.
The game is called 'Zodiac Legacy'. Hit me up on my AIM SN (Zodiac Legacy), or email me and we'll talk. :)
Hey there! I'd post my info, but sadly, my wifi connection isn't too hot. :( Nonetheless, I will bravely attempt to be a part of this club without joining the wifi community!...much to my sadness. Mwaaaaaah. ;_;
Nonetheless. Did ya'all know that if you send your towns' fruit to one of your residents, they'll (usually) send back a different fruit in return? It's how I got a peach! Now I have peaches, pears (thanks to Mom), and cherries!
And what size house does everyone have? I'm on my third upgrade, and I'm half paid off. Only 300k left to pay...but having so many different fruits, it goes pretty quickly, believe it or not.
Hey there, me again with another question. I'm trying to make my movie automatically play when it's finished loading rather than using a loadbar and button. What would be the actionscript for this?
That did it, thanks!
Is there any way to make it not a pop-up window, though? It's not too important, but I'd like to know nonetheless.
Right, so I'm making a flash. And it has this button at the end that when you click it, leads you to the main website. Problem is, I'm getting an error;
---
**Error** Scene=Scene 3, layer=Layer 1, frame=1:Line 1: ')' or ',' expected
getURL(http://tidesofconflict.com/index.ph
p);
Total ActionScript Errors: 1 Reported Errors: 1
---
Now. To stop the flash from restarting itself, I've added stop(); to the frame. I'm wondering; does this have anything to do with the error?
Let me know! <3
All of those who haven't gotten a reply from me yet, please email me again.
Only the first four are written, true. Mostly because they're the main ones I've fleshed out. As I progress, I'll fill in the other 8.
I'll be looking over things this weekend.
I did, I just haven't decided which one yet. ^^;
I wasn't thinking of animation at all. :) I understand that you're a busy dude and that you may've turned down other people. Just drawings, or even sketches would be awesome.
