I just googled what that show was - and to be honest - if you're going for that look - just look at any kind of generic anime. It's all the same. You'd probably be best off drawing with the line tool and just giving the objects flat colours - and then a streak of a lighter shade of the same colour for highlights.

You may also want to look at Dexters Lab. Although highly styalised it's the same idea of simple shapes and lighting.

Keep the pallette in the greys and blues for that metalic look.

that king of tech like i said i really havent drawn on paper in a long time so i don't know how caroded it would look and how do u do lighting stuff that i would need a tutorial for any way cause im not good at lighting fixtures

caroded?

Anyway - if you can't draw; practice.
It's not like you'll suddenly have talent after watching a tutorial.

There's not going to be a tutorial for this.

You say you're not very good at drawing in flash so plan it out on paper then copy that. It's sometimes easier if you draw all the objects sepearatly as symbols and then just drag them into place in the stage where you want them. How much your character interacts with the background will change how suitable this method is, too.

As for designing it - don't look for tutorials. Look for actual science labs. Do some research. Look at scientific equipment and what's common on them - safety buttons, tubes, cables, etc, etc and carry that over into the style of the room.

If your project is set in a certain time period - research conventions of the architecture and what not of that period to make the scene more believable.

Secondly, think of the atmosphere - if you want it to look sinister - use alot of dentistry and old fashioned medical tools - they'll have appropriate spikes and clamps. If you're going for the oposite - make sure everything is symetrical and avoid corners - think of apple designs. Everything is white, rounded and neat.

In short - you wont find a tutorial as specific as you're looking for.

However, learning perspective may help with the over all drawing of it.

Not really? Just a collection of multiplayer arcadeish games.

do you mean convert the file to swf? or put it inside a flash file?

I'm sure there's a program for the former.

For the latter, just open a black document (or the one you want the video in) and hit File > import or (ctrl + R)

The flash forum is for discussion of the program itself and not games/movies in the portal. For discussion like that go to the general or Wi/Ht forum. This topic belongs more in the former, I guess.

However - for such an old game I'm sure what you just typed up has already been discussed before. Try searching for it.

You could also try posting in the Stick RPG forum on Xgen's website.

Rayman Raving Rabbids.

Just watched an advert/trailer thing of it on joystiq. I know the games are shovelware and pretty bad. But this video is actually pretty awesome.

As in - it's like a nice little cartoon. The characters moves really nice and the joke isn't half bad. I was giggling the whole way through.

There's not really much we can say. Sure, it's smooth. But that's about it. It's just a line.

I don't really know what kind of criticism you're looking for, here. There's no staging, timing, characters or anything.

It's a nice test. But you probably shouldn't have spent a week on a test.

Easier than you think bud. Just throw some tits in there and you've probably got a flash to get past the submission phase.

Alot of the guys who spam the portal are actually pretty decent in the program. They just chose to upload crap - because it's fun to break the system!

And they're really only to stir up controvosy like this thread - getting all riled up about it is feeding the troll - It's a self fulfilling prophecy and all that.

Just ignore them. They're not actually hurting anybody.

Haha - no. It's more like this.

1. Submit a decent animation - which wont struggle to pass.
2. Once it's passed, swap the file. Due to there not being a whistle system for flashes past judgement.

Also - the protagonist must be a really laid back guy.

He's been sent through time by a man in shiney armour - been probed by all sorts of machines and told to rescue someone by a woman on a screen.

He then gets sent off to the civil war.

And yet - not a single word of confusion or fear. He just goes along with it.

I played it - I didn't enjoy it.

The Indian part was fun enough. Until it felt like the game was just waiting for me to die. But then you get the part with the lady on the screen.

Some weird design choice to have it only focus on her eyes and she's the worst voice actor in the world. Ever.

Then I get to play a tutorial. Which explains alot of the stuff I already know having faught the Indians.

Civil war stuff was alright once I could move about. I understand they wanted you to move with your platoon like the real soldiers did. But it felt really restricting. Especially because it disabled movement for the most part.

I died after I got the assult rifle thing and didn't feel like starting it up again.

The character models are really rough around the edges.
Lip syncing is non existant and it's like i'm fighting in an platoon made up of the same man.
Against the same man.

Go into edit neighbour hood and move the sims in - then you can play as both.

The 'new game' is so you can play as one family without the other ageing and losing their wishes.

It seems really out of proportion.

Either the pilot and the tracks are too big - or the chasis is too small.
Also, the turret seems a little bit on the stubby side.

Apart from being a time traveling FPS I really can't see any other connections.

It looks pretty basic to me. The story is a nice change but the gameplay just looks like every other FPS.

The story is nice but it's not a big enough hook for me.

1 - You're better off asking for flash artists in the flash forum.

2 - DO NOT post this in the flash forum. I doubt you'll find anyone willing to collaberate with you. Nearly every flash artist on newgrounds is independant and so has their own projects to work on.

If you're not going to offer any kind of reward (money) then you'll be very very VERY lucky if you find someone, willing to put aside their own work, to work with you. All you've told us so far is "It's a really weird idea".

the "Ideas person" Is not a valid part of a team.
