the same is sort of happening to me but I find myself buying in less to newer games because I don't see anything out available that looks amazing recently because of all the mixed reviews ,bad let's plays screwing up my judgement on quality that I even bother to listening to it's soundtrack on youtube right after the game has been realeased.

It's not the same like playing with a actual controller in hand with a console on the side but I think it's a lot less of a hassle to play the games in High Defination.

My friend and I are both around level 19, a level 35-40 will join our game and kill everything so fast, we hardly get any XP, and it just ruins it.

You can close your lobby and make all slots on it private, that's what we ended up doing. I'd recommend that, and just play with friends, or keep one open slot for a random, and have the rest be private.

So there's no way you can kill a another human being in this game with a higher level? It's not particularly far they're raking up all of the experiance themself's without sharing.
