Yeah, that's why I said there's no way I'd understand it. Anyways, thanks for the tips, guys.

Oh yes, since this is a platform shooter, I need to know how to make him jump and have gravity pull him down.

AS noob tutorial? Posted August 30th, 2006 in Game Development

I'm completely new to actionscript, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a tutorial that would be of use for making a platform shooter? This would be really helpful. The big things that I'd like to cover are:

How to make and animate moveable character
How to make fireable weapons
How to make area-effect weapons (explosions)
How to make moving targets
How to make the targets fire back

A tutorial that covers these subjects would be really great.

Also, I'd like to know how to turn a stick figure into a ragdoll. But I'm sure I wouldn't understand the instructions... hehe.

It kicks ass. Download it somewhere. (Note: This is not referring to piracy, don't ban me again, Luis. Please?)

I dont have sound editing software, so I can't chop it. I was hoping someone else could do that. Whatever. Fuck it. Lock the thread, it was a shitty idea anyways.

Well, you people have no sense of anticipation. I was hoping I could start up a collab on Battle of Evermore, and there's no point if nobody's heard it. There you go.

This question is relevant, by the way. You'll see.

Who here has heard the song "Battle of Evermore" by Zeppelin?

And not a very good way to start your flash career. Also Mx isn't bad.

Did I say Illegally acquired? I meant bought. Honest.

Dude, Snubby, Don't put it out on the portal yet. Let me get my part in. I can finish it in under 2 weeks. You'll be pleasantly surprised. I'm pretty sure I can get it done within one week, but you can never be sure. Just wait, it'll be amazing. You should let more people into the collab, too. The more, the merrier.

Response to: Stand Up Comdey Collaboration! Posted August 5th, 2006 in Game Development

Didn't you see Snubby's post awhile back about it being MINIMUM 45 seconds? Well now you know.

Now I know :\

Yay! Wait, no! Posted August 5th, 2006 in Game Development

I got the first blam of the day! Is that something to be proud of?

Response to: Hold on a sec.. Posted August 4th, 2006 in Game Development

Shit, I illegally downloaded the wrong one!

Is flash 8 the most recent flash thing, or is flash MX?

Response to: Stand Up Comdey Collaboration! Posted August 4th, 2006 in Game Development

Okay, I think it should be at LEAST 45 seconds. There should be anywhere from 45 seconds to 2 minutes. As an actual comedian, I think I should be the one to matter-of-factly inform you that stand-up is a sophisticated art... Now that I'm done acting like a rich english prick, is there any chance that we could actually get up to 2 minutes?

I hate having to wait 3 minutes to vote on something that took me 1/6 the time to watch, so I downvote them.

Yeah, I don't know how to do that.

I'm running 24 FPS. I wasn't thinking about lag affecting synchronization when I put it at 24.

Export to MC Hammer.

Response to: Ffs! Posted August 4th, 2006 in Game Development

I can't synchronize events (like appearing words and stuff) to music without it being affected by lag! and I can only post one more post for the next 30 minutes! HELP! I thought I wasn't a total noob anymore! I remind me of Jamrock... "Why isn't it animating my script?" At least my problem isn't as retarded.

Oh, override sound settings...That's the one. Thanks a lot. Now it's a reasonable 500K. Now if only I could get it to synchronize properly in HTML...

How do I put a song in my flash without it taking up all my fuckin space?

Ffs! Posted August 4th, 2006 in Game Development

I can't submit any flashes! They're all above 5 megs! No matter how much I add, or how much I take out, they always seem to be 5556 Kbs! What the FUCK is going on!

Response to: Racist Comment? Posted August 4th, 2006 in General

Don't be so sensitive. People say 'wtf' when I say I'm from Michigan. He's not racist. Probably. And even if he is, you were prejudiced too by assuming he was american. Maybe he's palestinian. Even if he is racist, why do you even care? People call me a scrawny-ass cracker. I don't give a shit, because I know I am a scrawny-ass cracker. You don't need to complain. It's not like he called you a durka or anything. grow up.

Collab Petition Posted August 4th, 2006 in General

I say we should have a petition to make a forum specifically for notices for upcoming collabs! I'm sick of finding out about them too late! We need a better system! You might tell me if I want it that bad, I could've just asked, but NO! My e-mail sucks ass! It doesn't work! Someone else ask! EVERYONE WHO WANTS A NEW COLLAB FORUM SAY AYE!

Response to: Untitled Collab Posted August 4th, 2006 in Game Development

aah! we need more time! I just saw the notice today, 6 days before it's set to be finished!
