3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsDo you guys make the same kind of music you listen to recreationally?
I certainly don't. I submit techno to NG but basically everything in my iTunes library is metal/hard rock from the 80s (AC/DC, Accept, Britny Fox, Cinderella, Def Leppard, Dokken, Judas Priest, Kix, L.A. Guns, Ratt, etc). Despite this I think sometimes this music does give me a little inspiration for my techno songs.
So how does your NG music differ from your recreational listening?
Currently listening to Mr. Scary by Dokken.
When is the deadline for this contest? I didn't see anything about a deadline in the rules.
I wanted Anthon, but that was taken so I had to change the o to a 0. Pretty lame.
Metal from around 25 years ago was great, nowadays it's mostly just screaming with barely any melody. Anyone here besides me like Dokken, Def Leppard, Ratt, Autograph, Kix, Judas Priest, Britny Fox, Cinderella, Accept, L.A. Guns, or Y & T?
Ok, I guess since it's meant for kids the word "sucks" isn't allowed. Which kinda sucks, because technically "sucks" can refer to sucks on a lollipop or something. The idea that "suck" always means "suck on a man's penis" is a logical fallacy. I brought it up because the song I'm working on may have the word "sucks" in it, so my question is would that be allowed?
Fact: Soda is bad for you, and studies have attributed diet soda to even more weight gain than regular soda. I drink water and only water, water is the only real beverage. Bevtastic!

It's like a combination of computer science and electrical engineering. Yeah!

I assume humor is not a valid emotion? Because if it was then I may have something soon although I obviously wouldn't win.
I remember getting in trouble by visiting the "Assassin" part of the portal about 11 years ago when I was in third grade.

Without giving it away, it's in the title and it's the name of a character from a very famous sci-fi book.
Is it Ender?
I think it is WAY overdiagnosed, I was diagnosed at one point and for five years I was absolutely convinced I had it. What was really the case was that I was a sugar addict, and eating sugary stuff all the time was causing my attention to suffer greatly. Took me a while to figure that out, since no "professional" ever bothered to even bring up the possibility.
After discontinuing the consumption of so many unhealthy and sugary products, I feel totally normal and will never need medication again. Seriously, being in good health is underrated.
Don't worry, in society being tall is an advantage. I'm a 19 year old male who is 5'5", and being so short is an extreme nuisance. I always feel happy on the rare occasion I see a guy at my college who is shorter than I am.

I agree, maybe with like 3 submissions allowed per person. I'd totally be up for that.
1. Be taller.
Thanks for reminding me. I'm 19 years old and 5'5."

Believe it or not, Steve quit the show because he didn't want the kids to see him going bald. Now he's in a band, no lie. Look it up for yourself.
Get some music by Ratt, they're awesome. Their earlier albums, especially.
I make techno. Whether it's cool or not is debatable.
I got in trouble with my parents for going on NG back in 97 or 98 when I was in third grade. Decided to sign up in 06, mainly to submit music.

Why is there a restriction to BPM?
Oops, forgot to show the instruments.

honestly.
Don't worry, you're not alone. Here's my most recent submission Competitor.
Hey guys, I just enabled ASIO drivers in FL and my song sounds way louder now within the program, but when I export it then it's the same volume as it used to be. How can I make the volumes match up?
Are you speaking mainly of kicks? What I usually do is take two different-sounding kicks and overlap them with each other. There's two particular ones that I like to overlap; one has more of an "oomph" sound and the other has more of a "knock" sound. Combined, they sound heavier and fuller.
It was a link to "Soulja Boy Tell 'Em - Crank That."
I'm having a difficult time classifying some of my songs. Can you guys give me some opinions as to what you think are characteristics of techno vs dance?
Bjra, I've been wondering the same thing. I'm in the US too, and my guess is that Europeans get to have dance music as part of their culture, whereas we Americans get this. So after listening to more dance music they can naturally make their own dance music better.
