Happened to me once and couldn't get it out. Was stuck in there for a few days. When it finally came out, it was black and smelled really bad.

Response to: Anyone remember the '80s? Posted June 18th, 2009 in General

I was born in 89, wish I was born early enough to fully experience the 80s.

It was when all the coolest technologies were emerging (NES, Commodore 64, etc.) plus the music from that decade is AWESOME. Metal was actually popular back then!

They'll make Bing the default search engine for Internet Explorer. That way noobs will end up using Bing whether they know it or not.

I think it would be cool if for your favorited flash/audio artists, it would give you a notification when they submitted something new. Who agrees with me?

If you're either a college graduate, a current full-time/part-time student, or a recent high-school graduate who plans on attending college, state the college or university you attend and what field of study in which you are going for.

I'm at State University of New York at Buffalo (more commonly University at Buffalo, or just Buffalo, or UB). I'm currently heading into my sophomore year in the field of Computer Engineering.

I just finished my sophomore year in computer engineering at a high-ranked engineering school. Realized I'm not cut out for it, I got raped up the butt with the workload, and I'm not used to working super hard. So I switched to computer science. Computer engineering is just electrical engineering + computer science and electrical engineering sucks anyway.

Happy music peaked in the 80s. Then Nirvana came along in 1991 and made music a depressionfest.

Response to: Percussion Packs Posted June 9th, 2009 in Audio

Link to thread plz? Or anyone else got ideas? I'm bumping this.

I had this one percussion pack years ago that was really good but now I no longer have it. Here are examples of songs with the old and new percussions:

Old percussion
New percussion

As you can hear, the old percussion sounds way better.

Use lots of reverb! Orchestral hits are good too.

Anyone know of any good percussion packs for techno/dance music? The one I currently have is pretty lackluster.

NOOOOOO THAT'S TOTALLY WRONG!!!!!

The general trend seems to be that the most popular artists sound generic. But because their songs have high production quality, the work sound professional. Dimrain47 isn't original. Sure he has fast notes playing all over the place, giving the illusion of a high-quality song, but once you get past the fast notes you'll realize that the core melody is extremely generic. Hope I'm making sense.

Believe it or not, it has changed over the years. It still does come with preset loops, but also has plenty of tools for making your own stuff. Someone I know who is quite good with the software is Haxxy. He doesn't use the preset loops.

Anyone agree?

I disagree. Just listen to a song yourself to determine how good it is. Plus the gold/platinum encouraged people to spam download their own songs.

Can't recall a particular instance for myself, but I do remember in my 8th grade gym class some jock kid usually assisted the gym teacher in demonstrations. So it was pretty funny when he had raging boner during one such demonstration.

Response to: tattoo stories Posted March 25th, 2009 in General

There really isn't any logical reason to get a tattoo, IMO. Eventually you'll likely end up not wanting it anymore, so it'll end up being a waste of money, PLUS additional money if you want to have it removed.

Response to: Ask your FruityLoops questions here Posted March 23rd, 2009 in Audio

I'm trying to link a volume control to a peak controller for a sidechain effect, which I've done successfully. The only problem is my bass (the thing I sidechained with a kick) is stuck at 125% volume up until the kick comes in, which is when the sidechaining takes effect. Even when I do "init song at this position" for 100% volume, the song inits at 100% volume but then immediately jumps to 125%. Can I fix this somehow?

Believe me the albums worth it.

What I'm saying is that fans of yours will probably think it's worth it, but to bring in a wider audience it's best to make it cheap. I'm no marketing expert but that's my theory. Especially if this is your first album.

Response to: Concerned about cholesterol? Posted March 13th, 2009 in General

The effect of dietary cholesterol on blood cholesterol is actually not certain, so don't worry about it. Eggs are a natural food so they're good for you. If you really want to gain weight, eat more sugar and white grains and drink soda. Not only will the excess sugar be stored as fat but you'll develop resistance to leptin, the appetite-controlling hormone. So you'll have a larger appetite and therefore will eat more food and gain weight.

By the way, I extremely recommend not following the above advice unless you want to be fat (but that's still gaining weight, right?). If you want to gain weight in a healthy manner just build more muscle!

Response to: To my fellow conservatives... Posted March 11th, 2009 in Politics

Democrats and Republicans are basically the same. People are realizing that Republicans love big government despite preaching fiscal conservatism and personal responsibility. Sure they oppose big spending now, but they sure didn't in the Bush years. So no one trusts them anymore.

Libertarians are the real conservatives, IMO.
