that looks more cyber punk then post post-apocalyptic.

think post-apocalyptic, a wasteland, after a major disaster or nukeular war.
there is no electric, no government, not much in the way of clean water or food.
only machinery is crude gas powered things, like engines and hand cranked devices.

Weapons are guns and improvised explosives.
Basic planes and modified vehicles .

try to think what it would be like if most every one you knew was gone, you had no technology and you had to build things to survive and defeand your self.
things humans can do with out complex machines or technicians.

madmax style sounds good to me.
i worry about if we mech to much, we may cross over to the steam punk style, so we need stay away from that as much as possible.

but thats for our leader to decide

Here is a short flash i was going make a few months back.
It was about GSP (Gorge St Perrer) when he started filming his Gatorade commercial ad.

Instead of blue or green sweat like in the commercials he was going to have a color substance put on him by his trainers.that glowedlike sperm under a black light (if ppl remember the whole BJ Penn Grease gate)

Its really almost a inside joke, and i just ran out of time to do it, and now i dont think its funny anymore

also, if you want to go for a more realistic piece, you may want to be sure to not draw the eyes and eyebrows over the hair. the hair should cover them

if its a background or none moving, you can just use photoshop or any image manipulating program.
just do them in the program, then import the image into flash.

if its something your animating, you probably want to do it fbf.

you can also try playing with masks over the same image.

Ok funny part, I did a parody of M1-Affliction. a MMA promo.

Well i lost my my job, and Affliction MMA folded all in teh same 1-2 week span. Meaning both events wont happen.

I think its a funny coincidence

I think before you start getting into painting and all that, you could seriously benefit from some special F/X, like latex and some hard forming gells.

most all costume shops will have liquid latex you can purchase. most places have year round costume shops so wil just have to look one up in your area

The great thing about liquid latex is you can simply paint it on and trys relativly fast.
it is also very durable and you can paint on it afterwords with just about any kind of none oil paint. (not that you would use oil base paints for something like that anyways)

Also if since you are not using this on skin, you can ask them if they have any old liquid latex laying around, and you can get it for cheap or even free if your lucky.

Im not saying do the whole thing in latex, but some good detailed areas.
try looking online for neet little tricks you can achieve with latex and things you find around the house.(cotton, Paper towels etc)

either way, great start, cant wait see it finished.

its not your composition, its the face.
Your eyes eyebrow and mouth should be the most important part.
no matter how good a piece is, if the face is off, the whole thing suffers

Just work on your eyes mostly, Think of it like...what do you want to express.

also have the pupils look at you for a personal feel, or have them look in the opposite direct the head is turned for a more dynamic look

either way your entry's are good, just need work on the making the face more expressive and less "shocked" look

unless you are airbrushing or spraying it on, i wouldn't really worry about primer.
I was going to go that route but decided to hand paint it.
after doing it with acrylics, i noticed that primer really didn't matter.

just my experience though.
