Use Photoshop. It gives you more options. Or just reduce the number of colors that go into your image. GIF's are much better with flat colors.
Done.

Thanks...But yours inspired me to do it in the first place.
Here's what I have so far. I'll be coloring it.
I think I'll take 52 if no one else is doing it.

He looks like he could be a member of Rammstein :P
Haha, the funny thing is that the song I picked for that flash was a Rammstein song.
And I stuck this picture in for a second or so--look even more familiar? (It actually wasn't intentional)
Oops, I just realized 23 was already taken. I think I'll just change that to 37 instead. It's not too different.
Done.

The only thing discouraging me now is having to deal with compression issues.
Yes, what about movie clips? Is there any way of having them not appear in two places in your movie?
Could you be more specific about how to use groups?
Ja, most of the objects in the library are graphics or movie clips. I was told using movie clips or graphics (if it's just one frame) was supposed to save space.
So I've tried optimizing the vectors in my flash, and it went down from 12.9 MB to 10.7 MB. It's not even finished; only half of the frames are drawn and colored out completely; the rest is just lineart. Would it be expected that a flash movie this detailed be of this size?

I just took a part of the movie out so that it would load faster.
I'm kind of worried because while I know there are movies here around 20MB or so, they're usually almost an hour in length, and mine is not even 5 minutes.
I should also say the colors are better than this as well. I forgot to notice the picture I uploaded was a .gif and had fewer colors.
Well the art style looks pretty much like this. Although the window is slightly more square. I don't think I made it too big either.
I've been making a flash movie from some time ago, but had to give up because I couldn't find any way to make it smaller. It's already 12.9 MB, even though I've optimized the sound, and haven't used any bitmaps--everything is done using vectors.
So I was wondering--if I were to compress the layers in my animation so that all the frame-by-frame stuff animating animated at one layer, would that help reduce the file size?
Instead of having the lineart change on one layer, and the coloring and shading change on one layer, and the other lighting change on a separate layer, if they all changed frame-by-frame on one layer, would that reduce the file size?
Your lines need more variation. You can usually tell how to do it because they correspond with the lighting. Pay attention to it.
DA is good if you're a subscriber. If you're not, you can't break the rules, and you'll have to deal with whatever hypocrisy they throw at you.
Even if you did get abusive reviews, that's no way to get corrosive. Particularly because it's not really offensive to be insulted by random strangers you don't even know.
I don't do the dark art thing that much.

I'd like to have a voice actor for the flash movie I'm making. It won't be much though, because there's no dialogue; I just need fight sounds and a few screams maybe, since I can't seem to find the ones I want. I can't do much more than put your name on the credits to whoever takes it though. The voice is for the character in the picture below. I'd prefer someone with a deep voice.
If you're interested, send me a PM.
If people considered nose picking more disgusting than picking your ears, it's probably because your ears are on the side of your face, and not right there in the center. Otherwise, I have no idea.
It's only "wrong" for people who can't stand the sight of it.
It's probably because people get bored of seeing your old hair, so when they see something new (and it isn't horrible), they'll probably compliment on it. I barely notice these things though. Unless you dyed your hair pink.
Just wanted to see other people share how they do their movies. I'll start so you get the idea.
I usually draw a storyboard, and then try to follow it closely. Sometimes I don't. I draw animations first by putting keyframes every 5 frames or so or add tweens and go through the entire movie this way before putting in all the details. Then afterwards, I add in more keyframes to make animations smoother, add some sounds, and color it last. I sometimes add sounds earlier for timing purposes though.
So do you make your flash movies this way, or do you do all the details at the same time you do an animation?
Latin
The lyrics to certain songs in certain video games were in Latin, and I thought it was just cool. That, and English is already 65% Latin. Actually, most Indo-European languages are.
German
I played Zelda 64 in German because I already beat it in English and got bored. I found I could read it more easily than I thought, and picked up quite a few words and grammar along the way. So I played other games in German, including Phoenix Wright. Now I read just about anything in German as an algebra exercise.
The above strategy can be used on almost any language, provided there are video games or other media in those languages.
I was very pleased with most of the comments on my previous flash, and as I said, I would be making a sequel to it. I am in the process of making it right now, and the first part is more or less done. However, people have pointed out that I have problems with rhythm, as certain scenes are too long. I would like some advice with what I have so far. The final version will have smoother animations and I will add more sounds.
But I'm not sure whether or not to make those drawing scenes shorter. Should I?
No, I've been using the same FPS throughout the entire movie. If I didn't, it would be quite obvious in the preview.
I'm going to try sticking all the movie clips in one movie clip and see if that works.
Thanks for all the advice.
I've tried putting all the movieclips in one scene, but it doesn't work because when I stick in the last few frames, they appear blank, even though there's something in it, and whenever I try to edit it, the program freezes up.
However, removing the first few scenes entirely fixes the problem, and putting all the scenes into a movieclip removes the speeding up problem, but when I get to that scene, it replays it again.
