This is true, too. The 360 and PS3 are pretty much the same, except for the exclusives (and the games that got "ported" so badly that they may as well have been exclusive, but that doesn't happen much). And there aren't that many exclusive games to begin with, and some of the better games aren't exclusives.

Saying "lol I can play FF13 using a single disc" doesn't really mean anything. Wait, it does mean something. It means that if you find this to be a massive difference, you are a lazy fuck that is too fucking lazy to even swap the damn disc

I don't know about online since the only online I do on my 360 is buying from XBLA so I don't really care about that myself, but I think PS3 lets you play online without having to pay any subscription. That, IMO, makes it better than Live.

This topic would've been good.

But then you, OP, had to go and make it a random mess of random words. I can't even understand what the FUCK you are saying.

So basically, you're an hypocrite, sir.

Oh, it's so fucking perfect. No it fucking isn't. I should slap you around for a bit and make you stare at it to see the truth.

Oh man, I forgot to mention those in my post. Megaman 9/10 has to be the most retarded thing that Capcom (which is one of my favorite companies, probably my favorite Japanese company) has ever done.

Capcom do play around with fan-service to the point they are kinda like the japanese Valve or something, but making a whole new game that feels, plays and looks exactly as a DAMN OLD GAME is NOT cool, at all.

"THEY'RE FUN BECAUSE THEY'RE CHALLENGING" some say. I beg to differ. It feels like fake difficulty at most. That's more of a problem with the whole franchise than these 2 games, however. But yeah. It's kinda like CoD: WaW in Veteran difficulty. It's hard because the enemy has an infinite amount of grenades which they throw your way, specially when you are even remotely hidden behind cover. Then you see so many grenade warnings that you can't even count them and die because of this cheap bullshit, fake difficulty.

Anyway, this is a pretty valid point that Blaze-Heatnix makes. Why do some enjoy a game ONLY because of it's "retro feel"? I personally enjoy the retro feel in games like Half-Minute Hero, mostly because it's a parody and it just works well. I doubt that the retro feel would take away from it's pretty fun and crazy gameplay, however. And if a game's gameplay is good, then it doesn't really matter too much how it looks like. Unless it's one of those "movie games" (MGS, Indigo Prophecy) or "interactive digital novels" (Phoenix Wright) in which graphics matter a tad more than they normally do.

Also, a I've seen some of the nostalgia peoples complain when new games look like PS1 or N64 games. Why? Don't you like the "goooooood times ooooof ooooooooooooooooold"? :P

Questions of the Day
1. Where is your stance on nostalgia?

I don't really give a fuck about it, and prefer newer games generally. I don't really feel nostalgic for games, I only remember what fun or frustration I had with some games. But not to the point where I will have fun or will be frustrated by an old game when I play it again.

It has already happened to me that I find an old game that frustrated me a LOT to be fun when I play it again, probably because I didn't really understand what was going on when I was younger. And it has also happened to me that I remember having fun with a game, try to play it again and just get bored by it, probably because there are newer and superior games in the genre.

If I was nostalgic, I would still play Pokemon. But I don't. I don't really like the newer designs, and don't really like the gameplay anymore. I do plan to play SoulSilver sometime. I have played a bit, but it hasn't made me feel nostalgic and the gameplay feels too slow for me now, so I decide to play a faster and more fun RPG. Like Resonance of Fate, or something. Whatever.

And Platinum and friends was a piece of shit. It felt like it was on slow-mo. I've read that it's because it's using the new technology and crap and it ends up running at half the framerate. I don't know if this is true or not, but if it is, then the developer clearly sucks dick. I mean, the framerate the game is running at shouldn't matter (specially on a mostly 2D one) if you optimize it for the specific framerate.

2. Where do you stand on puddinn64's opinion?

I like it, dawg.

3. Where do you stand on Im-A-Pirate's opinion?

Opinions aren't facts, dawg.

4. What do you think of Sonic the Hedgehog 4?

It seems like Sega's attempt to please the whiners. I don't really like the whole idea, because the Sonic fanbase is the most annoying and whiny thing ever. They complain about whatever little bit of info we do have about Sonic 4 so far, even about something as stupid as "IT'S USING SONIC'S NEW DESIGN AND NOT THE OLD FAT FUCK ONE!" or something silly like that.

Personally, if I was Sega, I would grab a shotgun and kill the entire fanbase for sucking so much.

Personally, my favorite Sonic game is Unleashed. My love for Beat 'em ups made me enjoy the Werehog parts. You know, the parts that a lot of people whine and bitch about so much, even going as far as to say that it completely ruined the game.

5. What is your favorite NES game?

Super Mario Bros 3

6. What is your favorite XBOX 360 game?

Can't really decide. It has a lot of games I really love. Like Fallout 3, Resonance of Fate, Army of TWO, Way of the Samurai 3 and so on and so forth.

It would be cool, but I so doubt that even being possible, ha.

I would like if they ported the Way of the Samurai 1 & 2 to Xbox 360. WotS 1 could be a XBLA game! WotS2 can maybe be a XBLA game too. I know that the original WotS was like 700mbs, so yeah.

That would be pretty cool.

This is old, and fan-art.

And also, this just proves that Japan is full of idiots that only like women with massive tits and a doll face. I'm actually surprised she kept her clothes in the art too, the author was probably too lazy to just give her some very small clothes that barely covers her nipples and pussy.

Also, this version of the fan-art is better.

I still prefer the original.

Don't the japanese hate how they look? I dunno but there are probably less mirrors in Japan too.

The game is first person too, so it doesn't matter. Specially because Faith looks "younger" in the animated cutscenes.

Response to: Emotionally Engaging Characters Posted August 5th, 2010 in Video Games

Well, I just started Dead To Rights: Retribution.

When, early games spoilers ahead, Frank died, it felt like a quite emotive scene. Specially because Jack had been a "badass" most of the time. Seeing Jack screaming and trying to keep his dad alive so desperately was quite emotive. Then Jack being angry and beating the triad until almost killing him.

Awesome stuff, really.

I wonder, do hospitalized really enjoy playing with the toys and stuff they are given? I mean, I personally feel like complete shit when sick and don't even want to play with anything. I feel that sleeping is a better solution if you are in pain and stuff. It makes you heal faster, and you stop feeling the pain if you do manage to sleep.

Personally, I don't think this is a completely stupid charity or something like that, but I do think that there are probably more important charities to donate to.

Just saying.

I dunno, but I bet it will die eventually, thanks to Nintendo being pricks.

They closed PokeNet or whatever it was called. I did not really play that much, but it was fine. I did, however, translate a lot of text of it into spanish. Then Nintendo pulled a C&D out of their ass and everything was lost.

FUN TIMES!

Ok then, I change my vote.

Yes, the old top-down view ones.

My favorites are Metal Gear Solid, Rayman 2 (I must have replayed that like 10 times when I was still a kid. I know it was more than 7 replays, at least) and Team Buddies.

Response to: Impact of Gamer-Score on Gaming Posted August 4th, 2010 in Video Games

Achievements had replay value and makes us do stuff we wouldn't normally do in games.

Like I borrowed Modern Warfare from a friend, and since I had already played it on PC way back then, I decided to just run through it on veteran and give it back to my friend.

That was masochistic, man. Really. But there was something joyful about seeing the achievement notice pop-up after I managed to actually complete the part that I was stuck in.

I also like getting achievements for replaying games that I like. Like Army of TWO: The 40th Day, because I love that game and I need to replay it for achievements. Tho I would replay it without achievements too, because I really like that game.

The one achievement that I really did and didn't want to do was Fallout 3's Nuka-Cola Challenge. But since I had already done all the other achievements (counting the DLC's), I just felt the need to get it. Achievements made me a better person. If it wasn't for the achievement, I would've probably killed the girl that gives me the quest and then raped her corpse in front of the dude that loves her. But the achievement made me do the quest... before actually doing the whole murdering and corpse raping thing.

It just is weird, but I wouldn't play a game just because it doesn't have achievements. It's just that I wouldn't do the stupid stuff that an achievement would have me do.

Shinjiro from Persona 3. Mainly because he died thanks to Ken. And I fucking hate that bastard. I mean, it didn't make me sad, but made me mad that he died in such a stupid way thanks to the most annoying and unlikeable character in the whole game. Fuck you Ken, seriously.

No other really come to mind. I would say James from Fallout 3, but all the killing and dying that goes around (a big part thanks to me too!) in the Wasteland made me not care about his dead that much.

Response to: Free good fun MMO. Posted August 1st, 2010 in Video Games

Shin Megami Tensei: IMAGINE (Megaten: IMAGINE) is a pretty good MMORPG for a while. It had me hooked for about 2 weeks, until I became bored with the grinding and my clan died and all that sucky stuff. And my character build probably sucks too, so I decided to just quit.

It's fun because you can use guns, swords and magic. And you can also have demon companions that level up by themselves. You can fuse the demons to make a new demon that inherits abilities from the parent demons. It's really fun, and if you work with fusing you can end up with some cool stuff.

I have a Jack Frost that has fire abilities, IIRC. And Jack Frost is a snowman in this game. So I had made a snowman that shoots fire.

I've been trying to get back into it, but I haven't because I don't find it fun enough to take time from playing actual RPGs or something, but if you REALLY only want a MMORPG, you should give it a try.

The only stuff that REALLY sucks about it are that you need to grind a lot. And farming too. It's fun if you have friends to grind with, obviously.

It has a cash shop, as most MMORPGs do. But the items they have in it aren't all completely necessary. You can buy the items from people in-game, anyway. Most of them is just fanservice for the Megaten series, so if you aren't a Megaten fan you will probably just not care about most of it.
