Every generation tries to shock the last.
In the 50's parents were shocked by Elvis' moving hips.
funny the "sexual revolution basicly started there"
In the 60's parents were shocked by the Beatle's long hair.
In the 70's late 60's parents were shocked by the hippie generation and the sexual revolution.
"the hippies were like dieing out in the 70s it was drugs like cocaine and the end of the 70s when peopel started getting aids"
The in the 80's it was heavy metal and punk, people blamed suicides on it yada yada.
uhm that happend like in the 70s way to be wiht things like the rolling stones black sabbath and even the beatles
Then in the 90's it was Gansta rap "Cop Killer" was a big controversy at one time. Then there was Marilyn Manson and other shock rockers...
the 90s? well there was a little of eveything first gangsta rap dint catch on so much in suburban cuture but some cool kids dug it it was like an undergound thing for white kids and really the news only cares about white kids
So how is our kids going to top us? I mean, like they'd have to do something like saw their limbs off for a stage act. Although even that, we'd be like "well we watched beheadings on the internet, been there seen that." When even goatse no longer shocks us, how are our kids going to upstage us? Is it over, I mean is there anything kids can do anymore to make us seem lame as many parents are when we're in our 40's? It seems to me we're stuck in a perpetual 90's. I haven't seen a new style come about since the mid 90's and that was 10 years ago! Kids are all still skaters, wiggers, goth, preps, punks etc. Yeah if you want you can dig back even further and dress like a hippie, but it's all been done man. What else can we do?
