The only architecture that holds my attention is Baroque. And the "crazy" architecture with non-Euclidean geometry that looks like it comes out of an HP Lovecraft novel.

Anyway, here's an interior of St. Louis City Museum, made out of recycled junk. It's really quite beautiful on the inside.

Topic: What's with all the wikipedia hate?

Posted: 11/08/09 03:44 AM

Forum: General

Wikipedia is a quick fix for knowledge about things that don't really matter.

Like say, one time I was wondering how nougat was made, so I looked it up.

As you get more technical, like say, particle physics, you might not want to rely on something that any bonehead can edit. Some of the people editing use outdated sources, or are heavily biased, so you can't really trust exactly what they say. It's a good point of reference for things you are just wondering about, but if you want to do real research, you got to put in the work.

Honestly I would just pick Obama. I hate to be a trendwhore, but I do think he's rather articulate. And I think we'd have a lot more in common than anyone else. The others would probably just stare at me listlessly. And then Michelle Obama should take me shopping.

Topic: Cut Vs Uncut Penis? Sex Thread

Posted: 10/31/09 04:59 AM

Forum: General

Not that it's of vital importance, but I find that cut seems desensitized because the head is more exposed. Foreskin has a purpose, and that is to protect the sensitive head. I don't like looking at the part where flesh was ripped from the penis, it's kind of unsettling. I guess it's different if you're used to seeing a ton of uncut dicks or whatever. There is no difference in pleasure to the female.

They don't even do famous people right.

A Beautiful Mind, for example. Bitch didn't even have visual hallucinations, he just heard voices sometimes. And they conveniently left out the part where he has gay sex. And the part where he abandons a girl he got pregnant, or the part where he gets divorced.

I think people should just be happy. It's entirely possible to feel completely fulfilled while not being attached to someone else.

You shouldn't need other people to validate you. Also, if you are dependent on your significant other for happiness, and they break up with you, you'll have the shittiest time ever. And instead of moving on, you'll angst about how you will never be happy again.

Not very often. It's fairly obvious that I am Asian. Some people ask about the specific country though. I'm Chinese/Japanese. When I'm in China, people ask me if I'm Korean a lot.

The other situation is when a weeaboo is really interested in the small percentage Japanese I am, and they ask me about anime and J-rock and shit, and completely disregard the Chinese part.

I remember making this younger boy eat grass and I thought it was hysterical. I was maybe nine and the boy six. When his mom came and told my mom about it I convinced them both that he was lying.

When I was playing with barbies, all of them always had sex with each other. When I was at my friends' houses all of our barbies would have massive orgies. It wasn't based on porn because we didn't know what real sex looked like. I don't ever remember playing normal barbies, like them going shopping or dress up because they were mostly always naked. We would cut their hair and dye them with markers and give them fake tattoos.

Well, the details look really good so you don't have to worry about that. Next time when you start a drawing you may want to do a template. If you are using photoshop you can put it on a layer below your lines.

please, please stop abusing dodge and burn. You really cannot use those for shading. Dodge and burn have their purposes, but you should not make your highlights and shading using those tools. Use them sparingly.

I like the fabric shading. The head proportions of the victim seem to be wrong. You might want to make a template before drawing the features. The back of the head looks to big. The legs look kind of short. Take a look at this http://www.portrait-artist.org/misc/prop ortion.html

If you are going for more cartoonish proportions then make sure they are balanced. The limb segments should be the same length, etc.

Topic: atheists should read the bible

Posted: 10/17/09 02:14 PM

Forum: General

I've read the Old Testament a few times. I've read the New Testament. I've also read the Bhagavad Gita, and the Tao Te Ching, and all of those have been better reads than the bible.

The bible says when I have my period I am unclean and have to be put apart for seven days. Ho ho, instead of just sticking a pad in my pants, everything I touch turns to shit, apparently.

Oral sex and anal sex = sodomy. So blow jobs are apparently evil. And I can't sleep with other women either. Sounds like the bible wants to ban good sex.

So, all in all, sure there may be some tidbits of whatever common sense already told me, for example, not to steal. But most of it : Do not want. If I were to follow all of the advice in it instead of relying on my own morals and conscience, I would be a walking contradiction.

A. You didnt have 4 submissions till recently
B. you forgot to tag your submissions as "public" so that they would be included in the art portal. Public images are the only ones that count towards the 4 you need to be scouted. I marked them public for you, with the hopes that I would scout you, but someone beat me to it.

A) I didn't have a fourth until recently, but the other three have been up for a considerable time.
B) I thought I did, I don't know how I missed that. If it was a mistake on my part then I apologize.

Children are still growing and BMI is really just for adults. BMI is a 19th century measurement formulated for population studies, not individual diagnosis, as it is hard to tell whether an individual is overweight or obese just from their BMI. A better measurement for body fat would be to use Skinfold Calipers, or the "pinch test." This assesses the individual's body fat, where as BMI only goes by weight, which is not indicative of actual body fat.

Also, proper nutrition education is important in tandem with physical education. You can't have kids running five miles and then also drinking soda and eating greasy cafeteria pizzas and bags of Doritos all day.

The sad fact of the matter is that many schools do not have the funds for a healthy lunch. I was listening to a radio interview with a school lunch lady, who said that they get only about $1 per lunch per student to actually make the lunch. Can you imagine the crap they have to put in lunches to only spend $1 per lunch? And to finance their lunch programs, they are forced to stick vending machines in their cafeterias, usually stocked with sodas, candy bars, and chips.

He is a public figure, and also the leader of our country. Of course he should be held to a higher standard of both character and decorum than the average citizen. He represents the United States on a world stage. When he chose to run for this office, he very well knew that everything he said and did was going to be in the spotlight.

No, I don't want to see Obama show up for a peace talk with foreign leaders in some grungy boxers with cheeto stains and a five o'clock shadow, picking his nose and farting at the audience at press conferences. I don't want to see him spout his personal beliefs and call people assholes. He's the freaking president, and should act like one.

I disagree that if you just put up some art, someone will eventually see it. I have had submissions up for three months and still have not been scouted. The reason being that I lurk around a lot and I am not particularly active. I don't see how you can get discovered if you don't know any other artists on the portal. If you aren't buddies with people already up there, then there is little to no chance to get scouted.

I think punishing scouters for the behavior of others discourages them from scouting artwork. I think the judgment they make is on the quality of the particular piece they scout, not the behavior of the other user, which is impossible to predict, especially over the internet.
