Strange as it may be, I actually feel okay about doing this now.
Good. :)
Thanks for the forum advice, I'll keep tha t in mind, it actually sounds like a pretty good idea. Myself, I would have no influence there as a new member, but I bet I could find a few people who would. My rationalization for stealing members isn't just an excuse, thinking about it, large-scale companies do that all the time, I'm assuming that when they do it, it's just in a more professional manner but pretty much the same thing.
Exactly the same thing. New customers come from the competition's failing points.
As far as the pre-existing community goes, I think you've got it right. Let them be how they are with only internal moderation and focus on making sure you've got new images up.
My pointless moral hangups have to do with my heavily religious background. While I'm not so religious myself, I still carry the same morals and values, and it's sad to say but I couldn't kill a fly without feeling bad about it. Perhaps it was just the irony that was stopping me, bah, money is money.
Not wanting to kill flies isn't pointless, it shows appreciation for life. It's pretty good to be able to look at a bug and see it as someone with a life that you shouldn't interfere with. Now, on the other hand, pretending that none of us have sex is pretty silly.
Now, just one last question, would it be unethical to take all of the content of my first would-be-competitor and put it on my site as start-up content, basically picking up where he left off? Of course, I'd fix all the problems with it as well, my gut tells me to do it, it just doesn't seem like a nice thing to do. It'd be like if Tom took a vacation for 6 months and came back to find a Newgrounds2.com, featuring all of the original NG content and then some.
Well, I'd make your own layout and all that, but if the images are free the images are free. I'd say you should collect all the free porn you can from as many sites as you can.
