You are as wrong as it is possible to be.

I went to the MX launch seminar a couple of days ago and it's unbelievable. It's been totally rewritten with over 1000 new features and fixes.

Wow, I only just saw this post, I never knew you guys cared :)

Happy to say that rumours of my demise have been grossly exaggerated, I just decided to throw myself back into the real world for a while and try to improve my situation.

However, I soon discovered the real world sucks too much so I might just go back to wasting my time playing computer games and hanging out here...

Response to: Ed Wilkinson Email mE!! Posted November 27th, 2001 in General

I got that too, I think Ed needs a new virus checker. This is a real bad one too, it's embedded into the email so that it activates without even opening the attachment. It only works on some versions of Outlook Express 5 apparently so the chances are if you got it you're infected already.

It includes a trojan that logs keystrokes and sends them to the virus writer, so be careful with your passwords kids...

Might help if you gave some more details.

What scripting language are you using? PHP? Perl?

Which errors are you getting exactly?

Go to http://www.mysql.com and do some reading about basic syntax

Ok here is what I think about XP
I don’t know where to start but ill try
Well… in the beginning XP was called whistler
Its was supposed to move away from the name windows
But y go back???
In the early version of XP it mysteriously crashed and the only thing they could figure out was it was the Y2K bug
The Y2K bug could only happen in 9X (suspicious)
So …
One theory I’ve heard is about the XP takeover
XP is very expensive and again to upgrade your pc
So…
This “Y2K” bug could have something to do with it
If a lot of PCs have XP
They could launch the bug and get loads of money from people to “fix it”
But first he would need almost all PC’s to have XP
A lot (practically all) of new pc’s come out with XP on them
And when 2000 & ME came out 98 still could come on new pc’s
So that’s how Microsoft get all XP
How much money does bill gates have
Oh
20M
whoa he could by his own country (or tack total control of businesses every where)
ill just leave u with that then

Idiot

I know everyone loves looking at old NG layouts so go check out this site, they have it archived back to 1998 in various forms:

It doesn't always work as their server is real busy but keep trying, it's amazing. Try it on other sites too, it'll keep you busy for days...

Reformatting is unlikely to fix a hardware problem.

BACE is right about the quick boot thing, mine took about 10 minutes to check the RAM when I upgraded to 256MB.

The problem might be that the new chip is incompatible with your existing RAM. Have you just added to your old RAM or replaced it completely? Your computer might accept it OK but there could be a conflict with your old RAM
