So, what's the original thread? The OP really seems to be trying hard to be some sort of troll.

Well, tbf, there are a million and one threads like this every week it could be any. Its so obviously a parody though, I must say it did make me chuckle. It's not like the OP's offending anyone.

Meh, I have friends all over the place at my school, everyone kinda does. There are geeky crowds, predominately Muslim crowds, slightly sportier crowds etc, but there seems to be a lot of osmosis between them. But, I'm a newgroundser, what do I know about society?

Response to: Your opinion Posted March 18th, 2012 in General

Electronica of all varieties, though I love hip hop, jazz, minimalism, Lady Gaga, metal of all kinds and classic rock (by the likes of Zep specifically).

So really, all of them and more.

As a Buddhist, this sounds to me to be the most fulfilling (you also get a spiritual connection with the whole universe, and a genuine chance to help others).

Though no Venusaur means me no choosy Jedi.

Pasta a l'Arrabiata, with extra olives and spices. Cheap, tasty, satisfying and healthy. You know it makes sense.

Well she thinks that the devil is controlling the music industry and that the Illuminati K-Pop artists sold their soul to the devil in exchange for popularity and are now using mind control to subvert the masses. So I guess hating Hinduism isn't that much of a stretch.

Yeah, when you say it like that, randomly despising other cultures seems like something she could do with tea and biscuits. Actually, they're probably satanic too though...

I know what you're getting at but I don't think that caste systems are very "nice".

Yeah, and then there's all the psuedo science, homophobia and misogyny that seems to be inherent to pretty much every theistic religion (possible exception of quakers). Ahhh, tbf I did say nice relatively.

Response to: My family telling me what to do. Posted March 18th, 2012 in General

Just stay true to yourself. It'll be hard, but you have to let them know that you can't do all they're asking you to. Be helpful, civil, a caring family member, but nothing they can give you is worth more than your integrity.

And yes, my Mum and Step Dad were like this to me, though more about me breaking up with my girlfriend and a whole lot of stupid stuff. It hurt a lot, but I told them I had to be true to myself and I couldn't do that doing as they said. They cut me off, and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. I have more self respect and integrity than I ever did before.

No one will respect you properly until you respect yourself enough to draw the lines.

Good news: There are 7 billion people in the world. Only around 2 billion are Christian, so only around 5 million should be batshit crazies. Collectively, we, the sane, outnumber them.

Although I'm massively baffled how she can hate on Hinduism. Hinduism is the nicest of the theistics, many Hindus even adopt Jesus Christ as an avatar of Vishnu (allegedly there's actually some talk about Jesus in the Vedas, but my conspiracy theorist Hare Krishna friend said that, so I would take it with a pinch of salt).

A lot of people posting here are forgetting bald eagles are no longer endangered. It's like any other animal sacrifice, and while kind of iffy morally speaking, is no more so then going out hunting.

If dating feels like how things should be, what's the harm in asking? Worst case scenario, its awkward for five minutes and things go back to usual. I'm sure you've already thought of the best case scenario :)

Response to: People Posted March 17th, 2012 in General

Serious post: I've thought for a long time that the universe is kinda fractal, like every smaller part of the universe bears some of the qualities of the full picture, and that every system withing the universe also bears some qualities of its parts. I think if you look at the solar system kinda picture, you see that picture repeated all over the universe because the conditions to create it arise everywhere. Similarly, that system even occurs on the tiniest subatomic level.

Like, far out maaaaaaannnnnnn

I'm not so hot on Kony 2012 either anymore. I think the ICC needs to get a unit of elites from NATO who can go in and get their most wanted, because in the long term, America can't be enforcing International law alone. We need to think sustainable reform rather than knee jerk throw troops at it I think, though their proposals may have some merit.
