And you're saying you learnt this life lesson AFTER VTR? o.O Nah, I'm not reaaally biased against you, just strongly inclined towards thinking you're not being remotely serious when you use this side of NG. Same as Suddle and Rav really, 'cept part of your NG persona is trolling. Which suits rap battling BTW, seeing as good rap battling is just effectively trolling your opponent in such a way that the audience laugh with you.

Bloc Party sample.... sounds real to me but idk how they got it.

Oooooohhhh, do you remember which song? I gotta get me some better horns samples. I don't like relying on synthesising horns and guitars and stuff.

I remember when noone took anything PiG said remotely serious.

Oh wait, no, people were never that sensible.

Damn Rampant. This some serious swag. This satire is bordering on Jarvis Cocker territory, but not rhyming as much.

Dude, post the acappella, I'll do a dubstep remix of that shit.

Y'know what, I think Teq's not had such a bad idea. MadFleX just agreed to be on a track with him, which'll get him more publicity, and even if he loses he'll be in the same league as Cynic, Gas and Nimbus.

PLUS we all get another battle with Flex.

True story: I had an anxiety fit applying for Clabtrap that I'd get put against MadFlex and pre-emptively wrote 24 bars of material, even though I think the guy's an insane rapper.

Then I got put against Fat Beats. And lost.

ALSO: SJD is right. What we're working is should actually turn out to be something rather special. Ditto me and Kill Bill. Looking for more rappers on this mixtape. JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON GUIZ.

Need someone on this track who can handle a seriously gritty beat and make shit catchy: http://soundcloud.com/iammoonburn/a-trip-too-far-moonburn

Wow, you and I must have been listening to a different ClabTrap. Each of those battles (with the exception of Byron v Flip) were really close, and a voter's judgement came down to what you thought mattered most in terms of lyrics and flow.

Good battles are always divisive. Even when FB bodied me, people were still voting for me, and even when I bodied Mao people were still voting for him. We all listen for different things in rap, hence why there isn't a homogenous opinion on many battles. With SJD and Gas the battle was INSANE. I think it came down to which style of rap you preferred more than anything, because both had great flow, hard hitting punches and insane technical skills.

ALSO just successfully baked 12 melt in the middle chocolate cupcakes. Until anyone takes it from my cold dead hands, I'm announcing myself the best rapper/ producer/ baker in this thread.

Anyone looking to change that will have to win a baking themed rap battle with me.

Ahhhh man, with all those consecutive battles I can feel THAT. What really impresses me is that Kill Bill and SJD are always doing other shit as well as the battles and still bring so much energy. I mean, this week SJD has TWO top four tracks, TWO, Bill's almost certainly doing a load of shit off newgrounds and yet they're still bringing heat.

Dat stamina.

Those lyrics aren't bad for battles, don't get me wrong, but they can't compare to some of the stuff that was said last year, and keep in mind that I'm not even talking about just Flex, the entire Top 4 last year just brought more clever wittiness to the battles.

Hmmmm... IDK, relistening to it it didn't seem as on point or full of in jokes as this year (Just look at PiG vs Teq, you couldn't count the injoke references on two hands) but that could be just because I don't get them. And to be honest, it sounds like everyone who competed last year has improved a lot since last year (Emergency> QSik). Really all last year seems heavy on empty threats, whilst this year is full of career disses which seem more substantial. Hmmmm, what do you think were the best lyrics last year? I might just not get them.

There was gonna be a different top 4 regardless.

With Flex. There were some great rhymes last year, don't get me wrong, but I think really this year's just got generally better rappers with perhaps a couple of exceptions. I think in any case, what it does show is the quality of the new blood in Clabtrap with SJD, KillBill and Scuare being totally new additions.

Also Emergency, didn't you laugh at the lines "So get angry at yourself for making verse that's so dreadful/ And get angry at your parents for letting you think that you were special" or "I hear your god gied so let me spit some Jigga shit for fun/ I got 99 problems but your bitch ain't one"?

Gas vs SJD, Suddle vs RJA, PiG vs Teq and yourself vs Scuare were all pretty fucking badass. PLUS we got the one sided ass whoopings we always love: JoeyKeys vs Gasmasq, SJD vs Future, PiG vs Maverick, Scuare vs Byron (sorry Byron, but I did expect better) and KillBill vs That Guy With The Whiney Voice.

Pretty good comp so far IMHO.

Also Rampant vs Blest and Scuare vs TVJohnny were just plain fucking hilarious.

Essentially where I stand on this. I won't have access to a mic after July really, so I won't be able to battle as much but I don't get why people'd quit battling otherwise (unless they just don't have time).

Also, it's odd but I always like my opponents way more after I've battled them. Anyone else find this?
