I DID IT!!!! By using a variable that added every time I pressed space

if(Key.isDown(Key.SPACE)){
	if(thing < 1){
	addstuff();
	thing += 1
	}
	}
if(!Key.isDown(Key.SPACE)){
	thing = 0
}
}

} (the ! means isnt.)
