I dunno. I enjoyed Lucky Star.

I enjoyed it in much the same was as I enjoy something like How I Met Your Mother. It occasionally made me laugh out loud, but it was mostly inoffensive and very easy to watch. Plus it displayed the typical KyoAni high production values, so it was very easy on the eyes.

And the comic shop owner was hilarious.

Of course I can see the problem that some people have with it.

Response to: Super Mario Bros the movie?! Posted May 30th, 2010 in General

It's awful.

It was awful when I watched back when I was five years old, and I'm sure it's awful now.

And, that's saying something. Because I liked a lot of shitty movies when I was five.

/no caps Posted May 30th, 2010 in General

I see this phrase, or some variant, at the end of a post written in large quantities of capital letters.

LIKE I AM DOING RIGHT NOW.

I know this is a way to smartarse your way around the 'no posting in all capitals' rule that I believe is on the rules list.

Not going into the fact that attempting to smartarse your way around the rules is against the rules, I am curious as to whether people think this works.

If a mod was going to ban you for posting in all caps, I'm willing to bet that they're unlikely to suddenly change their mind when they see six letters at the bottom in lower case letters.

I JUST THINK THAT IT IS RIDICULOUS.

Are people ever even banned for ALL CAPS posting? Is there anyone who has saved themselves from said bans because of their smartarse coda? Are they banned anyway, if the mod in question is so inclined to enforce said rule?

Not that anybody would know if they had saved themselves.

I HAVE USED SOME CAPITAL LETTERS IN THIS POST.

Just because your character can die doesn't mean that it's canon that he or she does die.

What would probably disqualify it from having any factual basis is the fact that there are motherfucking ghosts in it. Ghosts that hate cameras.

I'm halfway through it atm, it's one of the funniest things i've watched in ages but it's the same sort of stuff as the first ep so you probably wouldn't dig it.

Well, with me I got out the first DVD and hated it. And then I got back to it a couple of years later and I started liking it. Either it got more interesting after those episodes, or my tastes changed.

I liked the show. It wasn't exactly sidesplitting, but it was a bit of fun to watch. I would describe it as 'enjoyable'. It's relaxing.

Well, there's the new Mario Galaxy game.

It's pretty good. Not a big improvement over the original, but I liked the original.

I've gotten 60 stars in it, but I've decided to put it on hold while I play Zack and Wiki and No More Heroes 2.

Response to: Feedback on my comics Posted May 29th, 2010 in Art

Oh wow, when you said 'like Explosm' you really weren't kidding.

My advice would be to stop trying to be like Cyanide and Happiness. Not only is that comic bad (YMMV, of course), but it also already exists. Nobody is in need of another Cyanide and Happiness, because they already have Cyanide and Happiness.

On top of that, your comic is even worse than C&H. The art is terrible and the jokes are a mix between non-existent and extremely over done. It reads like a parody of bad webcomics, but without any cleverness to it.

Also, you need to attach a picture in the first post of a thread in the Art forum.

I'd say it's more like putting a German flag up across the road from the battlefield where that person's grandfather died.

Response to: T-shirt design Posted May 28th, 2010 in Art

While the concept is extremely overdone now, this particular take is done pretty well.

The big problem I have with it is the outline. I'm guessing it's supposed to be as if someone has thrown a rock at your chest and your chest has smashed like a window, but the lines used don't make it particularly believable and the idea that a t-shirt is able to smash is a little bit ridiculous. It just doesn't fit onto the t-shirt very well, which really brings down the quality.

Perhaps if you had made it look more like the front of the t-shirt was ripped off, rather than smashed through, it would look better.

Well, ofttimes a still from an anime series used to punctuate a certain statement can add a certain tone that is not possible with simple text. So they are not always unrelated.

And their ability to make reading certain posts more interesting leads me to believe that they are not inherently a bad thing.
