Man, that shit is expensive.
Why would you spend as much money as you have to to buy a DVD of a series that you might not even like?
I say rent them. If you really like the series after watching it then buy it, I guess?
In any case, I went a rather dull route and ordered one with a picture I drew on it. I'm not sure how well it will turn out given the rather low contrast of most of it.

Why don't you guys just ignore this guy? All he's saying is complete nonsense.
No idea, really.
I'm not a good judge of male attractiveness, and I've not had any feedback from anyone else on the issue.
I'll just sit around being blissful in my ignorance.
Finished off Soul Eater, in record time.
I need to stop finding ways to procrastinate from work.
It was pretty good. It dropped in quality a bit in the last 10 or 15 episodes when the pacing went a bit haywire, but I'm still reasonably satisfied.
I do have a large problem with the final episodes. I'm not going to spoil anything in this paragraph, but suffice it to say they try to cram too many ideas into a short space of time which leaves all of them under developed.
As an example:
SPOILER:
In the final episode where we find out that Maka can also change into a weapon. Then the bad guy says "Oh, you can change into a weapon? That's cool, but that can't beat me either." Then she stops being a weapon and no more mention is made of this ability. It feels like that's something that should have been developed.
ALSO SPOILER:
Also the Black Star warrior path/demon path thing, which came out of nowhere and ended out of nowhere.
END SPOILERS
They also try to cram in a bunch of stuff that I didn't care about, which often enough took up too much time.
SPOILER:
The RPG-esque magic item hunt felt a little forced. And then it didn't really end up amounting to anything.
END SPOILER
My opinions of the series went basically in this order:
"Sub-par anime series"
"Good anime series"
"Great anime series"
"Good anime series"
"Pretty good anime series"
I read that somewhere around the 35th episode the anime departed from the manga, which might explain the drop in quality. Of course I'm not going to pursue the manga because I can't stand reading action scenes in black and white.
I'd like them to make another season of it some time. There were a lot of questions left unanswered, plots left unresolved, and a lot of room for development in all of the characters.
It doesn't really matter, does it?
If you're uploading at a peak time, you'll get views from the larger number of people online, but also there will be more people submitting so your flash will more quickly go down the page.
If you're uploading at an off-peak time, you'll get fewer views per minute (or whatever), but due to the smaller number of people submitting your flash will stay on the page for longer.
So it will generally even out whenever you submit it.
Yeah, I'll have another go.

Pagans, just wondering what you're doing on Yule-tide this year. You know, that day you stole from the Romans.

I'm not complaining, I am critiquing.
And I'd feel weird about the idea of reviewing a flash that I am co-authored to.
The collab turned out pretty well.
I have to say, though, that the voice work was a little bit iffy.
Whoever it was that did it really needs to learn about enjambment. Not every poem is supposed to be read out line to line. In many poems, you are supposed to stop when you get to the end of a sentence, not when you get to the end of a line.
And I would understand if the poems were being read in an entirely monotone voice, or if they were being read with a full range of emotions. But with the voicework whoever did it is just flipping between tone and monotone in the middle of poems without any consistency, which just ends up sounding awkward.
Also, the voice changer was really cheesy, and the sound quality was rather low, at least on some of them.
Anyway, other than that, good job everyone.
It's definitely not the 'worst' episode, per se, but it's my least favourite:
The one where Principal Skinner turns out to be some criminal who stole the real Skinner's identity.
That's the one that marked the decline of the series for me. Where they just decided to screw with the characters for no reason.
Eh, why not stop the dumb charade and try to make something of this thread. A Blockhead fanart thread, if you will.
Here's one.
Animation geek.
I am in love with animation as a medium. Every time the film festival rolls around, I make sure to see every animated movie.
Unfortunately, given the majority of the West's belief that animation is a kids medium, if I want to find animated television shows that I can enjoy I usually have to look to anime. It's not unfortunate that I have to watch anime, because I do enjoy watching a good anime, but it's unfortunate that I don't have much of a choice with the animated shows of other countries.

I'm sure that's not much of an issue for you.
Oh wow that was immature.
Anyway, is this like choosing your sex, then going back in time to your birth? If not, I'm not sure that as a foetus I was capable of thinking things like this through.
If it was, then why not just choose the opposite sex? I've already experienced 19 years of what it's like being a dude, and 0 years of being not a dude. Maybe it would be interesting to mix things up a little; find out what my life would be like if I was born without a penis.

Why would graphics mean nothing?
RPGs are, to some degree, about getting lost in a world. The better a world looks, the more you'd want to get lost in it.
Sign up date doesn't mean a thing.
The act of going to Newgrounds a bunch of times doesn't make you a better poster. It doesn't make you more intelligent or witty. People who have been around longer have just been around longer.
I haven't posted anything in this thread for a while so here's something new.
It's basically my first real attempt at drawing anything with pens. I usually make some dumb mistake and throw whatever I'm drawing away.
Anyway, the linework in this is sloppy, the proportions are weird, and the perspective is right out. But despite all that, for some reason I still like it.

That's a really dumb comparison. Their films aren't similar in any way, other than the fact that they're animated.
If I had to compare him with someone, I'd go with Satoshi Kon is the David Lynch of anime, or something like that. Maybe a cross between David Lynch and Alfred Hitchcock.

Not caring about others doesn't make you a narcissist.
A narcissist is someone that is in love with themselves. And from what I read in that first post, you do seem to have elements of this.

Of course the argument in this thread is about as sophisticated as an inbred tadpole.
