Excuse me?
Light was a cold, crazy, megalomaniacal arsehole. He manipulated everyone he met. His methods for delivering justice were 'kill all criminals indiscriminately'.
The things he was doing were terrible.

ATASHI IS FOR WOMEN. IT IS GENERALLY VERY POLITE.
I'd just like to point out that 'boku' isn't 'polite'. 'Boku' is relatively informal and casual.
Similarly, 'atashi' isn't 'polite' either. They're both relatively informal pronouns. 'Atashi' is kinda cutesy.

Which characters are likable?
As far as I remember, most of the characters were either evil, or kinda annoying.
The only characters I liked were Light's dad, and L.

She assents to legislation, acts as a figurehead for the United Kingdom, and gives an annual speech.
Watched 5 episodes of Wolf's Rain now, and honestly I'm finding it pretty boring.
I'm really trying to see the show that I've seen praised countless times, but I just can't find it. All I can see is a show with a ridiculous premise, dull characters, and generally nothing interesting happening.
Even when a giant robot showed up, it still managed to be pretty dull.
Does this show get better? Or am I wasting my time?
As an aside, I really think the whole wolf/human thing is underused. They should really show the characters as wolves more often, i.e. when it makes sense for them to be wolves rather than people. For example, there was a shot where the youngest one was licking the wound of the white haired one. It looked ridiculous with them both being people. Another example is when they're running through the snow. I just kept thinking "why do they still look like people?". Also when they were eating a deer.

At least in a concert now one cares and ain't judging :|
Are people judging you when you go to the cinema alone?
It's fairly dark and people are usually concentrating on, you know, the movie screen.

I thought K-On! had funny dialogue when I watched it. I don't care for the more 'moe' aspects of the show.

It's a great show for the first 15 episodes or so. Then it goes a bit downhill towards the end. I really didn't like the ending.
Still good overall, though. Definitely worth watching.
By the way. This club has 60,000 posts.

Oh shit, seriously?
I better stop watching anime. I don't want to watch something that sucks.
I've been watching Wolf's Rain, albeit very slowly. I've only been through the first three episodes.
I'm not particularly impressed so far, but it's enjoyable enough for me to keep watching. I really hate the character design of the white haired wolf-guy.

My pictures at the start of this thread were kinda just five minute drawings I did to test out my tablet. I know I shouldn't criticise a compliment, but I also feel that my artistic abilities from two months ago should not be judged on those drawings.
In any case, the smoother lines is because I have been using pens for the last few drawings in this thread. I find them easier to control than my tablet, as I assume most people do.
Anyway, here's another quick drawing. I don't like it much, but hey this thread is pretty empty.

Not really.
When Final Fantasy did it, they were quite successful. Same with Dragon Quest.
Well, New Zealand has already had two female prime ministers in the last 13 years or so.
I want the most qualified person to be the head of the country. If that person is a woman, or is homoesexual, or both, I don't see why that should matter.

No?
Because good voice acting makes cutscenes more interesting to watch. It also tends to add more personality to the characters.
I don't think that Zelda needs voice acting per se, but I think that the story could be more involving because of it. You say that boxes of text can sometimes convey more emotions, but I don't think I have ever seen a video game where I would think "yes, these dialogue text boxes are more emotive than the human voice".
At 8/4/10 10:01 PM, Maverick-Alex wrote: So voice acting makes everything deeper? I NEED TO HEAR THEM TALK SO I CAN EMPATHIZE WITH THEM!!
Please, never read a fucking book.
Uh.
Your arguments are, uh, kinda dumb.
Books can't have voice acting because they're books. They are text on pages. There is no room for sound.
Video games, on the other hand, can have voice acting. That is something that is possible in a video game. Not only is it possible, it has become the standard.
Why not have voice acting? How do simple text boxes make the game better?
Sure bad voice acting has ruined games in the past, but good voice acting has also made games better. Take Mass Effect for example. Or Uncharted.
Nintendo has the resources to hire good voice actors, and they should.
I don't understand.
Is this a prediction that in the future we'll all start thinking that cyberpunk geeks are fashionable?
