What constitutes a 'profit'? When they move just beyond breaking even?

You can get a Wacom Bamboo on Amazon for $60 right now. My first tablet was the slightly larger version of that (Bamboo Fun), which is $107. Either of those are good first tablets, and well worth their asking price.

The better ones are more expensive, but you only really need to move onto those when you've got a handle on how to use a tablet (unless you have a lot of spare cash around), at which point I think they're worth the extra money. A Bamboo would be fine when you're just starting out.

If you're going to be doing flash work I'd recommend at the very least buying a cheap tablet, like a Wacom Bamboo. It will make a big difference in the ease of making art on the computer.

Who are you trying to convince here?

Making excuses isn't going to improve your ability to make art.

I don't know, maybe buy me photoshop, then I can give it some pretty colors and some decent lettering, well, I guess I could do the lettering on paint......

Just upload the larger sized pages on imgur and link them in your posts.

Whitmalkin

Herodotus, the father of history, alleged the only good is knowledge, and the only evil is ignorance. But Herodotus was also the father of lies.

There exists a force beyond ignorance, and beyond evil.

That is the Whitmalkin.

That's dumb, there are plenty of specific rules and concepts about art that can be taught by teachers.

Skill is more important initially, but when you have it imagination is definitely going to set you apart amongst other people with skill.

Response to: Doesnt say i cant do this.. but? Posted June 15th, 2012 in Art

It does say you can't do that, in the art guidelines.

"Photography is not allowed in either public or private galleries. We prefer to keep the spotlight on hand-made works. Photographs of sculptures, paintings or other hand-made items are acceptable."

Response to: A lot of help on my art skills.. Posted June 15th, 2012 in Art

Really the only thing you're doing right is drawing in the first place.

Practice everything. Practice drawing real people, practice drawing individual body parts, practice smooth lines, practice colouring, practice shading, etc. There isn't much else I can tell you.
