I use a combo... in general I use frame by frame for stuff that I want to look really cool, and I tween for slow motion effects. Or use 3d, but that's a whole nother program...

the NG sprite master eh? I thought that was randy solem...

Well, the paintbrush tool can produce a varying line effect, but you can't really control it too easy

I want to start making flash films and movies. So do you think it's wise that I buy flash if i'm younger than most artists? Or should I wait a little while? (I have made some crappy skateboarding films and about half of a tank game with the trial so I at least know the basics)

I'm not sure if the trial has everything... but it has more than enough to make a quality movie. Obviously you've already used flash so only you can judge how good you are at it and if it's worth your time. However, unless you have a lot saved up, you probably can't afford flash- it's five hundred dollars. I used the trial extensively. But I not only use it for movies, but to make games, design my site, import video for stop motion animation, among other things. So I ended up buying it to take full advantage of the features.

If it was done in flash why did you upload it as a jpg?

anyways... yeah.. needs some work...

smooth the lines, draw more carefully. shading helps too. Stay away from gradients though

Topic: how do you use sprites in movies?

Posted: 07/31/03 11:18 PM

Forum: Flash

get them from a site. if they don't have what you want make your own:

find a rom of the game you want them from. take a screenshot. paste it into flash. break it apart, and cut the sprite out

Topic: Zooming in

Posted: 07/31/03 11:15 PM

Forum: Flash

Um, well, see, flash doesn't really have a zoom in command or anything. you essentially just make stuff bigger.

for example draw a background. make a keyframe later on. scale it to a larger size. then make your tween.

there's your "zoom in"

I completely agree. No animation, not funny. he could animate a pile of shit with a speedy voice and it would get a flat 5.00 out of 5.00

Yeah, and how often do you see illwill in the bbs? the chat? writing a review? caring in general?

That's funny, I've felt the same way about illwill since his first movie...

Will's got some talent I guess but I hate everyone single one of those foamy/germaine movies.

sorry...

And on a lighter note, I really enjoyed "The Most Dangerous Game"
Funny stuff really. I wasn't too crazy about either of the endings though. the alien guy should have died.

But you have to realize, Flash can be used for so many things.. from animations to full length games, to creating full blow websites. Believe me, flash has incredibly advanced features, in animation and programming.

Of course tom doesn't pay for it... he probably bought a copy of flash 3 back in the day, and I can almost guarantee macromedia give tom free/discounted copies for the advertisement of their product.

Ok, so many people steal it, but still....

more like I actually forked over 500$ and I'm holding the manual right now :p

Honestly I did buy it though because I plan on making a full flash site and something like that brings a lot of attention... figured I'd play it safe...
