Response to: Making Longer Songs Posted February 21st, 2011 in Audio

At 2/20/11 02:42 PM, RedFuelTank wrote: I'm having trouble making longer songs.

I have trouble continuing songs after I finish composing about 3-4 measures for all instruments.

- Do you guys work on each instrument one at a time throughout the whole song? Or do you do what I do as well?

I have this notion that every second of each song has to be interesting in some way.

- That's not true is it? Techniques to prolong songs can have positive effects on the listener as well, right?

---------------------------------

Any tips and tricks to shorten work time would be greatly appreciated.

There is a one really simple trick. Listen tons of different songs. Im sure you will get ideas to make your songs longer too=)

Response to: People don't care about melodies?? Posted February 15th, 2011 in Audio

At 2/15/11 12:12 PM, SBB wrote: You're too close-minded. There is more to music than melodies. There are also different rhythms, timbres, playing styles, themes, words, the property of the song sounding badass, etc, that makes up a song and makes it unique etc blablabla.

In some songs, certain aspects are more important than others and so you have songs centered around great melodies and you also have songs centered around interesting rhythms and you also have songs based on a theme or story and then you have the songs that are made purely to sound badass.

You are exactly right! I mean really... There cant be limitless amount of awesome melodies in the world. And you really need to listen to the song. not the melody. Then you got to focus on smaller things like melody and bass and variations etc.
Im sorry if i said something that someone said before:D

Response to: Zerovoting and Exposure. Posted February 2nd, 2011 in Audio

It's not a DAW, but it's definitely a music making program. As for the sounds being fake, a reminder that playback isn't the final goal of Sibelius. It's made for musicians who intend to have their works played live or musicians who want sheet music to their compositions.

Its composing and notation program not music making.

Only..

Is there more to DJing or making mixes then cross fading songs?
I mean you don't need to be a producer in order to be a DJ correct?
You just need to be familiar with the software and you'll be fine.
Am i right?

DJ is the guy who plays the music in clubs or parties lawl

Response to: Best program? Posted January 29th, 2011 in Audio

Btw I have used mixcraft and i can say a few words about it.. ITS AWfUL! its way more useless than GarageBand. I mean its laggy and confusing. Only good thing is that its free or atleast damn cheap.

Response to: Best program? Posted January 29th, 2011 in Audio

I think you should try logic if you have mac and money but if you dont have i recommend you to try cubase or fl studio. ok you may think that fl studio is not so good to classical but you should give it a shot:)

Response to: Software vs Samples Posted December 7th, 2010 in Audio

In my opinion software wins. There are many causes but the most important is that software synths are more versatile. I mean you may need dozens of samples but you also may only need one good synthesizer which is capable to give you any sound what you need maybe. But your music style of choice also judges that which is more useful to you, i mean how many good orchestral sound synthesizer you know...
