I think it's getting a bad rap right now because people don't have enough of an attention span to listen for more than 30 seconds, when it finally starts the Brinstar melody >.>. That or the zero-voters are out as always. Either way, any rating/feedback is much appreciated! I'll return the favor.

Normally I wouldn't bother advertising, but one, single zero-voter has caused almost no one to notice it. I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing that on these forums, but I still don't understand for the life of me how we should be content with the current system. I don't care about scores, but I do care about getting actual feedback.
Hey, sure enough, you're right...now if only I didn't have 1/10 of the voting power of the downrater <.< .
o_O really? I must've encountered a bug of some sort then, I'll go try again. If this is actually true, they may have gotten it right this time around....sort of. Everyone will continually rate their own submissions highly, while others come in and give them 0's, and not a single person has an accurate rating. Oh well.
It sure seems that way...if you ask me, the best way to deal with the problem is just single out the obvious pattern and consider it abuse--posting audio, then giving high-rated audio several 0's in a row. Much easier to ban the violators than try to shape the entire system around them, and then with them gone, restore the 1 vote for 1 person system.
The redesign was definitely a valiant effort...but so far, it seems to be worse than before. My newest submission was getting straight 5's from people with almost no experience (me included), while a single downrater had enough experience to completely throw off the balance,...I figured I could even things out with another vote today...but the annoying "you have already voted on this submission today" messages are back from the last iteration of the AP! If we can't vote every day, at least get rid of that message and stop raising my hopes for nothing >.<.
To make things worse, that 0-rater knocked me off of the front page of the genre....and I can't find any way of navigating to the next page! Either that has been implemented yet or the interface is very unclear...and that's no good for anyone who isn't consistently on the first page.

It's kind of an eclectic mix of genres at this point, since I can't manage to stay with one band or project for more than a few months at a time. Any ratings/reviews/comments are appreciated :).
I love ska...but classify here...are we talking about actual ska or new third-wave stuff? I like both but there is a big difference.
I have multiple songs that are 3.00+ actually...usually I get one or two downraters and enough people rating fairly to keep my score...but this time the vote count was so low that I can tell that I got a 5, a 3, and two 0's.
So yeah, maybe I wasn't too clear on that part, but I'm not new to the audio portal at all--it's usually people treat my submissions more fairly.
Haha, I'm a veteran of other forums, so I know how it goes. Of course, now I look like even more of a n00b because I don't know how to close this topic, but oh well.

I know that downrating exists, I just wanted to know if that was the case with my submission, but alright, I posted in the other thread, so I guess I'll be closing this now...
A version of the SMB1 theme recorded with all real instruments except for the drums...please, rate/review it honestly.
Am I losing my mind, or does it seem like most users just spam 0's whenever possible to knock artists out of the rankings? I just posted a new song, and whether people appreciate it or not, I feel like the quality and effort alone would at least merit a 1 (and I consider that an understatement, but I don't expect everyone to feel the same way I do), yet the only ratings I've gotten other than my own have been two 0's (if not more by the time I'm finished typing this).
I hope I'm not breaking the TOS by saying this, but if a few users reading this could just listen to my newest song (it's a version of the Mario Theme done with all real instruments except for the drums) and tell me if there's anything so bad about it, I'd really appreciate it, since none of the users giving me 0's have the decency to actually review it.
