In Australia we occasionally get an option "Are you Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander?", but that's it...
I think all of this "Who had it hardest several hundred years ago" maybe straying from the topic a bit...
I've always found the idea of dedicating an entire month to any race pretty stupid. First of all, it IS seperating blacks, it implies that the rest of the year doesn't appreciate blacks. Second of all, why do black people get this month at all, what acheivements is it celebrating? It's celebrating some people having higher melanin counts that other people? Yes, I realize some black people have done great things (So have people from every race), but some black people are utterly unremarkable, just normal people, so why have a month for these people?
I think somebody said something earlier in this thread about a civil rights month, why not have that, that celebrates people who have actually done something worthy of having a month dedicated to, regardless of race.

You must be sarcastic.
Or a sick, sick, sick bastard, lol.
Also, another thing to take into consideration is that a majority of people are not racist. Sure, there are nutjobs like the KKK. But these guys are hated by most decent people and receive no support. You can't base your opinions of other races on extremist bastards.

Recognizing the top black actors and actresses may be seen as racism to some, but to many black people that identify themselves as black instead of American see it as awarding the good actors and actresses of their culture.
It's weird that people who were born, raised and continue to live in America wouldn't consider themselves American...
It also seems kind of weird that it needs to be a certain month for people to learn about those who've contributed to their country, why can't you just be multi-cultural throughout the whole year? Why do you need to make certain months revolve around certain ethicities?
Yanks are weird... In Australia, it's not optional to vote, it's illegal not to unless you've got a bloody good excuse. Mind you, because of this we got a whole bunch of idiots who just donkey vote.

You can't please everyone, some people are just wankers who will complain about things.

we have the most retarded president
Oh that's right... you're not obsessed with Australia and therefore don't have any reason to focus all of your attention on their leader.
I am Australian and if your referring to John Howard, who recently lost the federal election, he WAS a retarded dickhead... Kevin Rudd on the other hand, has been a really good Prime Minister so far.
Why can't you just be happy that lots of people around you like the same things you like?
I read all of that... and kind of regret it now... it wasn't really worth reading, lol.
Oh no... My eyes are ruined! I understood all of that!
