Topic: I'm back

Posted: 01/29/07 01:40 PM

Forum: Audio

I know the forum isn't for these types of posts, but I figured I had enough of a fan base to let people know I've decided to come back and start submitting songs to NG again. I'm also waiting for the "I've never heard of you" in response to the "fan base" thing.

Anyway, I hope this time isn't as drama driven and horrid as things used to be when I left. Does anyone remember me?

Its good to be back.

Wow, that reads like a 16 year old wrote it. Horrible "spoilers" too, the way its written makes me not even believe any of it.

Questioning

Topic: What makes a good guitar player?

Posted: 05/29/06 05:10 AM

Forum: Audio

What do you think makes a good guitar player? The ability to play a million notes a second or being able to play something that sounds beautiful, no matter the speed?

I'm not impressed when I hear someone shred or watch them do it, am I alone in this? I'd much rather hear a solo that just sounds fantastic rather than a thousand notes mashed into a few seconds or minutes of super-fast playing.

So, is it the ability to play something that sounds good, or the ability to play a million notes a second? Feel free to add what you think makes a great guitar player.

Also, I should learn how to do multiple quotes in a single reply too, sorry. Ok, last post for a while.

Well, to be exact. Those kind of topics aren't even allowed.

It's fucked up that another good man leaves. Since a bunch of dickheads constantly voted his stuff down, thats no wonder. Most of his covers are better then a bunch of other crap in the AP.

Thanks for the kind words man, I appreciate em, but I'm not leaving because the 0 votes, I'm just leaving to focus more time on my own website with my covers on it, and concentrate on my own songs too. I'll be back.

Its fake. If his music is released on CDs that means he has a contract, no record label in their right mind would let him release stuff without them collecting off of it.

I'm done with Newgrounds for a while. I've got my own site that I haven't been paying attention to as much as I should because I've been submitting everything here because of the review feature, but no one reviews (by review I mean REVIEW and not "OMG THIS SUCKS/I LOVE THIS!") anyway. I'm taking a little break from the AP for a while. It was fun while it lasted, and I got to see the demise of Stage 3-1, which was fun. I'll be back sometime, but not for a while, even tho no one cares, I figured I'd say goodbye. Later.

My Samick sounds better than most guitars I've ever heard. Have you even played one? Most guitars nowadays you're just paying for the name, and Samicks and other "no-name" guitars have the EXACT same hardware in them. Most cock-rock douchebag shredding people play Jacksons is all I'm saying, going by generalizations.

Did you just make your account to post this question? Anyway, if you're going to be using them for mastering tracks, get monitors. Mastering songs thru headphones causes a lot of volume problems. Get a nice set of studio monitors.

Hey everyone! I'm bending over! Come on Paragon, the shot's all yours!

Sick of these little fanboys posting "OMG WHEREZ PARAGONX9!?!!" Like their lives are nothing without his mediocre tracks. Not sayin I could do any better, just saying there's much better songs out there than most of his.

How about instead of whining where he is, look at all the other artists on the AP?

Absynth 3 has some good leads, Steinberg's "The Grand 2" for a good piano sound (although I just mic mine), Groove Agent for drums, Guitar Rig 2/Amplitube for guitar people, Steinberg's "Hypersonic 2" kick's Reaktor's ASS, Sonic Synth 2 is also good. Spectrasonics makes a good one called "Atmosphere." Hell, I have too many VST(i)'s... All the ones I mentioned cost money tho, can't help with free ones. But then again, everything's free from the right merchant.

I've been here for a while and I'm used to all the 0'voting and don't whine about it anymore. But this is out of hand now. I upped a song about an hour ago, and its already had so many 0 votes. It was @ 1.00/5.00 a second ago, and since I never vote on my own stuff, I gave it a 5, and it raised it to 1.70/5.00 ! It sucks but at the same time it doesn't matter, lol. I love how I even made a thread about it.

That's what I'm using now, just recentley got it and I'm in love with it. All the songs I'm working on sound so much better than when I did the 1/4" to 1/8" running to soundcard setup. Plus it doubles as a MIDI controller and can have audio from your OS and apps sent thru its headphone jack so yuo can listen on speakers if you live w/ ppl and can't be loud at night.
