Response to: Online dating works. Posted July 4th, 2014 in General

Here's my problem with online dating.

The way you normally start to date people is by striking up conversation somewhere that you both happen to be, typically because of a shared interest, at a time in both of your lives when you feel ready to do so.

Both at Starbucks? Hey, you both like overpriced but awesome coffee.

Meet a B&N? You're both avid readers, or possibly board game players. Great.

Meet at a strip club? You're both desperate for something. It works out.

But I find that most people on online dating websites don't feel "ready" to date. They feel forced to date. They feel the need to actively seek out a partner, whether it's because a friend or family member pestered them to do so, or they have some stupid social shame for being single for too long, or they just feel lonely. None of these are great mutual reasons to hook up with someone.

Response to: Are Sports Overrated? Posted July 2nd, 2014 in General

Sports are just as over rated as movies and TV shows.

At the end of the day you're still just watching someone perform a skill.

With that said... I watch eSports regularly and love it. And I'm sure most people who condemn sports as entertainment are in approximately the same boat as me.

We all have a little Whitman in us.

It's funny. But I really do think NG is the last man standing. Now that I think about it, NG is pretty damn special. I used to visit a few others back in the day but they're all gone.

However I always watch videos through to the end before voting on them. As a former art student I understand entirely how indifferent participation can be insulting.
90% of my in-class critiques were filled with "i liek it" and "u did good job" and "buzz word buzz word I'm too wasted to make a real comment".

For some reason Im curious who you guys are like.
Meh answer:
Straight all tho I have nothing against gays.
Smart
Jock
sorta well talented

1. Neither you bigoted shit
2. Dumb - you don't have to contemplate the issues of life or understand that you are constantly being screwed over by every possible party in your life. You get to just live in a drunken stupor and die with a smile on your face and bent over with your pants around your ankles, just the way the government wants you to.
3. Jock - in combination with #2, you get to also be the center of attention in the years where stroking your ego is most important.
4. Talented - if you can manage to be dumb AND talented, you'll be set. You can make money with little effort and have fun doing it.

Response to: How you usually look for attention? Posted June 18th, 2014 in General

Gotta agree that just "being yourself" is the best way to communicate and keep someone's attention. It's cliche and oversaid, but it's true. When you try being something you're not, you give off a douchey vibe. Plus when you eventually get tired of acting you completely ruin any friendship or relationship you had with the person.

You'd be surprised at how easy it is to just walk up to someone and say hi. Ask if you can join their activity, conversation, etc. (oh, are you guys talking about x? Goddayum hoes, I love x!)... Or just strike up conversation.

Even if you are a little nervous at first, most people understand and won't be dicks about it. They'll probably find it flattering that you're breaking out of your personality to try to actually talk to them. And if they are dicks about it, they aren't the kind of people you really want to be talking to anyway.

I'm having issues with my construct 2 game where when I play through my game the graphics seem to disappear?

Anything will help!

Thanks.

Yeah can't really help you without the cap file, but here's something I've experienced that might help...

Check your Z orders. If you have multiple sprites drawing on the same layer (i.e. a background image and a few objects), if the background ever refreshes or changes for some reason it will cover some of the other sprites. They will seem to disappear.

The best idea to fix it on your own is to run the game in debug mode. Do a little creative problem solving. Check the object list on the left and see how many instances are present before and after the disappearance. Check their coordinates, variables, etc. and try to figure out if something is messing up in your events. The step mode can be really useful if you manage to figure out how to recreate the problem, as it will allow you to see exactly when the problem occurs.

Anyway, good luck.

Construct 2 and Vungle Posted June 17th, 2014 in Programming

I've been searching for a while with no luck.

Any idea how to incorporate Vungle ads into Construct 2? I'm not a programmer but I know my way around code, so I could figure out any coding necessary. Any help would be appreciated.

This, there's always an offhand chance that the person in question is actually innocent. Wouldn't be fair to put someone in jail for a crime they didn't commit.

Yet it still happens all the time. The legal system is flawed beyond belief and infected by a plague of idiots. But that's inevitable. At least it functions to some degree.

odesk.com - freelancing website, you can get paid via paypal if you don't want to use a bank account. A lot of it is skilled work but you can do data entry or basic writing jobs for some cash to start out.

Just turned 23 yesterday
I don't do drugs (any more)
I freelance and make anywhere from $10/hr to $50/hr depending on the project
My work makes slacking off impossible if I want to keep the money rolling
I'm more of a 90's/2k music kinda guy, my gf loves 80's though
No idea what the fuck a mordecai is
My friends have shitty mental coordination and could never vocally synchronize properly

A 14 year old that has moved on

You're gonna be drooling at another sack of meat in a few months - people have been "desperate" since the dawn of civilization and if you are truly at a maturity level where you can focus on education, life goals, and life fulfillment before getting googly eyes over a boy/girl for more than a month, either something is wrong with you or you are well beyond your years (in which case, props).
