I would almost believe you if you hadn't brought in pink, hearts, girly things, etc. But that fact shows that you have an inherent bias based on gender. You, like the other two Big Men in this thread, are assuming that because she's a girl she is only interested in Pinkfluffy Bejeweled 5. If you had the mental capacity of a badger, you could have read through the thread long enough to see that she's actually into games like GTA, Outlast, Spyro, Age of Empires, Amnesia, etc. AS WELL AS The Sims and whatever other "managerial" game I mentioned. Also take note that I never even listed a single casual game. You're assuming based on gender and just making yourself look like an ass.
As for a "useful response" - let's step away from gender for a minute so you can understand how retarded you sound. Other people suggested games or game types, even gave links. You came in here trying to self-justify your mental incapacity for diversity. I'm assuming it's because I said that she hates Call of Duty and League of Legends. Listen kiddo, it's alright to like different things. Your penis isn't any smaller because she and I understand that CoD is a shitty franchise. You weren't helpful, you were insulting and didn't actually provide any useful material other than "herp derp she's a girl stop trying she h8 games".
But go on and keep trying to not backpedal by further backpedaling.

Try to find the most boring, pointless, no possible way to lose game there is. Bonus points if it's pink or has hearts or other girly things. If it seems it might be even a little fun it's not for her. Keep looking.
And/or tell her to pick out her own games.
Don't get mad. It's just the truth.
No, she's not a gamer. If she was a gamer she'd have an easily discernible genre that I could just rely on for good titles. She plays games on occasion for fun. What you define as a "good game" may be great for you, but people have different tastes. She's not into most of the stereotypical cookie-cutter crap on the market today, so she looks to me (a gamer) to find something interesting.
But, in the interest of not derailing this thread, let that be your last attempt to justify your hypermasculine knee-jerk misogyny.

It really does look great. We liked Rule of Rose but thought it was a little awkward and ultimately subpar, this basically looks like a better version of that. May have to dust off the ol' PS2 after all. Adventure/mystery/horror-ish Japanese games like that are pretty awesome. We also are looking at Siren: Blood Curse since I was a megahuge fan of the original Siren and she got really into it.

EDIT: Also, Persona 3 and 4 are awesome, they have some fantasy and magic elements though.
I loved Metal Gear growing up, haven't played the newer versions, but now that I think about it she liked Syphon Filter so that may not be too far off. I may show it to her after all. As for Persona, isn't that a turn based game? One of the few gameplay elements she just cannot stand is turn based combat.

GTAV was just on sale for the 2nd month in a row at 50% off 2 weeks ago. I'd feel ripped if I paid 60 bucks for it, but I'd beaten the game before I owned it anyway. Oh well... It's hard to pick things. The games she likes aren't exactly... fun.
DOA - not into fighters, plus she finds the hyper-sexualization of that entire series even more frustrating than I do. I tried really hard to get her into Playstation Allstars 'cuz it's one of my favorite party games, but to no avail.
Grand Theft Auto - we own every single one haha. She is a hardcore GTA fan. Pretty sure she's played more GTA than I have played Devil May Cry, which is a scary thought considering I was addicted to DMC for an entire year in highschool - get home from school, play til sleep, wake up, play, go to school, repeat.
Spyro - we have a few Spyros, she enjoys them but it's all the same and gets old quick.
Wild Arms - I've always wanted to give this a try (love me some jprgs) but it's not her thing. Turn based typical RPGs = nope.
-Edit- Resident Evil 2 - Played through all the REs already. Same goes for Silent Hill.
And yeah I understand it's hard to find games that fit, she's really picky when it comes to video games which sucks 'cuz she doesn't enjoy 90% of the ones I do. Which is why I need help finding something haha. I appreciate everyone's help so far - keep 'em comin :)

Oh, forgot all about Spore. Good call - may give that a try. I was excited about it when it came out but it just kinda.... Disappeared.
Checked all of those games out. Recettear seems cool, if a little costly for its scope. The rest of them are no good. I should also mention that anime-esque art is also in the "don't like but may make an exception" boat. I personally may give Crypt of the NecroDancer a try though.
Keep 'em comin! :)

Welp.... I'm sorry to say that your girlfriend has no idea what she does and doesn't like then... Cause that's what Little Big Planet is... A sidescrolling platformer.
As for suggestions...
Recettear
100% Orange Juice (If she likes board game style games)
AvSeq (Musical puzzle type game... pretty unique)
AudioSurf 2
Crypt of the NecroDancer
Dungeon Defenders
Just a few I'd recommend with a quick skim through my own Steam library. I'm not going to go into my PS3 collection because most of the games I'd recommend are extremely niche and I have a feeling would be duds.
As I said, there are exceptions. LBP was one of them. Oddworld could be considered a puzzle platformer too.
I'll check out those ones, also curious to hear what games you were going to mention for PS3 - I might be interested in them :)
Also, very fun @ Dark Souls. Ironically that's one of the games we own though.
Also also, already played Walking Dead. I don't think she'd be into Metal Gear, too sci-fi and combat-centric.
So, I'm trying to find a game for my girlfriend. We have a PS3, iPhone/iPod, and a medium-high end gaming laptop. Problem is, she's uber picky.
She's not into magic, fantasy, or sci-fi, but will make an exception if it's really interesting. Best example I can think of is Oddworld series.
Doesn't like FPS, not fond of sidescrollers especially when they involve platforming. She liked Little Big Planet. Basically she enjoys games that aren't too difficult to play or learn. She loves interesting/unique games too (like how Audiosurf was unique when it first came out).
Here are some examples of games she likes:
Little Big Planet
The Sims (1, 2, 3, 4)
SimCity
Age of Empires III
Minecraft
Amnesia
And some games she hates:
Call of Duty or basically any FPS ever
Final Fantasy series
Soul Calibur
Devil May Cry
League of Legends
I'll be eternally grateful for any suggestions :D feel free to post any games for the three platforms I mentioned. PC games can even be flash games if you can think of any great ones. Fire away!
You can make one statement universally true for all people alive from the time that the statement is made. The catch is that the opposite is true for you. What would you choose, why, and what do you think the significant effects of it would be?
My example:
"Humans are inherently excellently safe drivers."
As a result, I am inherently an awful driver.
Car accidents are no longer a worry. Car insurance costs plummet, maybe even disappear in some cases. Hundreds of lawyers instantly lose their jobs. Even though I suck at driving I'll never hit another vehicle at least, because other people will be awesome enough to avoid me. Or I'll just have other people drive me places.
Another one:
"Humans are mindless drones that are obedient without question to anyone who tells them to do something."
As a result, I am extremely intelligent and stubborn.
Thus, I rule the world.

I used to be completely against drinking. Thought it was stupid, a massive multi-faceted industry (produce, car insurance, funerals) that evolved from a society seeking ways compatible with religion to double their efficiency in superficially dealing with regret and anger.
Still kinda feel that way, but I drink on occasion. Mostly with friends, sometimes at 2 AM by myself playing MMOs because idiots are funnier when you're drunk. I like vodka with apple cider. Cider ale is great too. Got a bottle of real quality sake imported from Japan for a graduation gift - strange, acquired taste, but worth every penny. Also, I hate beer. I'm on a sympathetic 9 month hiatus from alcohol though :)
Just get a high def digital projector and be done with it.

There is no "trying to be different" involved. If my views differ widely from the general societal views of today it is only because I am far less influenced by what society expects than the average person. It's not a bad way to be. It's far better than letting other people dictate what you think and giving in to social pressures.
There are also these huge assumptions that *everyone* should finish school and *everyone* should go to college and get a degree and yadda yadda and I just don't think those assumptions are at all reasonable for all people. Also someone's life is not "ruined" just because they chose a different path, if it's the path they wanted to take. Not everyone wants the same things out of life.
Only way to know for sure would be to know the person deeply on a case-by-case basis.
I get what you're saying - I'm one of the most adamant supporters of the idea of individualism, moral relativity, and so-on. And yeah, some people make it without finishing high school; in fact some of the most successful people in history dropped out or were expelled. That, however, is not the majority. You cannot deny the statistical probability of life difficulties involved in getting pregnant at a young age in today's society.
As for my statement about ruining lives - unless this girl has a source of significant financial support or already has a steady and upwardly mobile job, her child's life is almost certainly going to face difficulty. True, she could fit into one of those categories, but the chances are slim - if she has a job, since she is in highschool, it is unlikely to lead anywhere. If she has support, it is unlikely to last and is probably coming as a drain on another person's livelihood. Just going off of probability here. My advice to the OP wouldn't change either way, though.
Make your own frames. It's pretty easy really. Just need eight pieces of wood, some corner braces, plexiglass cut to fit (unless you wanna be megafancy), and a power sander. About a 1 hour project per frame, plus you get the satisfaction of knowing you are awesome enough to make your own frames.

If anything modern society is too judgmental and too forceful on pressuring people to fit some arbitrary ideals.
We know she's in highschool. Or at least was at the time of the OP. She may be a "legal adult" but that doesn't mean shit. In my book she's still a kid, and it's a shitty situation. Times have changed, people have changed, and the solid fact is that most people who get pregnant in highschool end up giving their children shitty lives. Stop trying to be on the other side of the fence just for the sake of being different.
@OP - I agree with everyone else that says stay out of it, but be her friend if you wish. Teen mother or not, if someone you were interested in suddenly popped out a baby, unless you have been yearning for a family and don't care if the child isn't yours, you are not ready for that situation.

That picture is adorable, haha. But yeah. She's basically like a little kid, just with extra legs.
@DumbassDude - and have it find its way back into my apartment, eat all my food, shit in my cupboards, and maybe become rabid and bite my adorable humancat? I don't think so. It was adorable, but I have no shame in killing it.
And no I didn't eat it. My cat didn't even want to eat it. She was mostly just confused after I caught it. She smacked it a few times but that's it.
My cat and I just killed a mouse.
1. This is the first mouse she's ever seen. She's over a year old and was raised from birth by humans so she's not really sure how to Cat. She stands on two feet half the time, watches TV, punches things, etc. But she went into instant cat mode when she saw the mouse.
2. I had to horribly bludgeon it with a hammer because I caught it half under a box and didn't want to risk it getting out. It was gross. There was blood all over my floor.

A horribly screwed up environment in which countries blatantly destroy the freedoms of their people, control their citizens through decades of brainwashing and shady lawmaking, societies purging all life from the Earth by carelessly polluting it until the atmosphere is completely depleted, organizations once meant to keep peace turned into war machines, media and the people becoming completely apathetic and more interested in the latest gossip than group after group of terrorists, wars and riots breaking out left and right, and the inevitable end of global society as we know it.

Yeah, that $50 is going to be nothing more than a consolation prize if anyone decided to take this on. Time to cost ratio, I made about double that on my very first animation contract. I think you'd have better success posting this in the collab forum or on collabinate if you don't have the cash to bump up the reward. People there are looking for projects like this, and the $50 will be a nice bonus.

This isn't a comic that'll eat up our time, we'll just work on it on our spare hours. Trust me, I'm busy too, but I feel like just working on something chill and stupid and quick. I ain't an artist, but I am a writer. So there's that. Also this comic probably won't be long per, um, "issue" I guess. It'll just be one to four panels tops.
So yeah, if you're interested let's make something really dumb.
Oh my god. Nekomancers. I love you for making this thread. I have no interest in participating but it gave me a fantastic idea. A person who summons cats to do his or her bidding, rather than raising the dead.
Anyway, what about making this an open project? i.e. make it a nonlinear story so that if anyone wants to contribute a chapter/short they can. You could act as the lorekeeper - people have to talk to you about their ideas before hand to make sure it fits canonically.
-edit- a good example of what I'm talking about is the slice-of-life manga/anime Sketchbook.
I dunno if it's just a difference in occupation, but I work with the young and old alike (18-50's ish) and I find that the younger people are, the more likely they are to try and screw me over or underpay me. In fact, I have kind of developed a basic distaste for anyone more than two years younger than me. The generation below me blows.
