Jude also provided additional art and animation for a number of movies:

yeah i remember being amazed at it's art when it first came out.

They mean flash as a format not an animation tool... Swf is being replaced by video since flash swfs aren't supported by mobile

Not really, youtube has more exposure..look at egoraptor's newgrounds page...he has 40,000 fans here... on youtube he has over a million subscribers ...
I remember egoraptor used to be really against youtube because people always stole his flashes and youtubes compression always meant poor framerates so people wouldn't see all of his drawings...
-then at a newground meet-up, another popular animator told him about how much money he was making from youtube (over 3 grand a month) and egoraptor was like " what? you can make money off youtube?!!" That's the story I was told anyway.

There's 72hours of content uploaded to YouTube every MINUTE...it's an unstoppable behemoth which is why it's still on top...
Youtube is going to shit, I hope newgrounds makes a big comeback. Newgrounds has the advantage in the sense it has a great community.
Here's a crazy idea... for content on newgrounds why not set up some sore of virtual tipjar option where users can tip a dollar or some bitcoin or whatever to a user who creates a great piece of content. With a small percentage going to NG, and the rest going to the creator. The tipjar would be publicly visible so people can see how much has already been donated. I know if bitcoin was one of the ways to tip, it would get a lot of attention coming newgrounds way!
Also Tom, now would be a great time to do an AMA on reddit! ;)

Thanks!
Wow this was a big one!
I hope in the future Newgrounds makes a huge comeback, and you can get an awesome office again. I'd love to visit the newgrounds HQ some day! :(
Happy Christmas Tom :) Hope you have a lovely time :D

What kind of stats do voter of the months average on?
I'm wondering what amount of votes the cast, would be interesting!
Awh I was looking forward to visiting the office some time :(
Hope this newgrounds recession hits a boom again! I'm sure it will, you're making so many improvements each week which is great to see.
:D
To be honest, I don't think it should start with speedpainting as a new format to be added to the portal,
I think it should be art related tutorials with actual narration instead of a sped up video of someone drawing with some music on top.
I think Jazza's tutorials should be uploaded at least, to test the waters since they're of such high quality and people would really learn to improve from them!
I remember using it a couple of years ago, but it seems that the creator PoderOdunk quit newgrounds and deleted most of his games.
Did I miss some fiasco?!
This is all well and good, congratz to everyone. But I WANT A GREENSCREEN VIDEO OF TOM ANNOUNCING THEM AGAIN!
11th place in May, 9th place in June! One day... ONE DAY! i will be in the top 5 haha.

How long is it? contact me if it is no longer than 1 minute.
regarding the video upload feature, will it ever show a progress bar?
I tried uploaded a video and left it for over an hour and it still showed up as 'uploading'.. Could be the crappy internet here, or some other problem. It's 300Mb.

yay 11th runner up for my video! Glad people voted at all for it :D
Wow 25 million views! That's crazy. I've never seen it until now. It's great that nowadays people's accomplisments will live on the internet indefinitely.

Swweeeet! nice little feature.
I love the newgrounds design, but I think it is time for something more minimalistic. Sites like Reddit offer the extreme basics, while still looking aesthetically pleasing, and I think if newgrounds did their own take of that kind of organized design it would be beneficial. I think you should leave the individual user pages open to customizable backgrounds like youtube does/did.
I miss the all time greatest list on the right and the easily accessible section to see the current flashes with awards (even turd of the week was funny to see) Just my two cents.

You have outdone yourself tom, seriously.
Though I still think flash is the best format, because most people have REALLY bad internet, and cannot download those 500megabyte youtube vids.
I seriously doubt in this day and age that most people are still on dial up speeds or whatever, my dad lives on a remote island in ireland and still gets broadband
that's awesome. I hope it's as big a hit as Castle Crashers :)
Tryed the video feature with my new upload! It works really well. Excited to see the future of this. One question: will we ever be able to monetize videos like the way Youtube has?
