But Nuclear would probably be better I guess. Though when the damn were built here 40 years ago, Nuclear electricity wasn't as safe and efficient as it is today.. might as well keep the things.
I live in Minnesota, and we have 3 Nuclear Power Plants. I live in a town within 20 miles of one, so I should know what is what from experience. I also live in a smaller rural town (about 10,000 max), and so I see a lot of wind generators. Of course, as with buying a car and many other things, there are Pro's and Con's to everything.
With the Nuclear Power plant, I only have two issues; being so close, every year, everyone in town has to sign papers saying that it's ok if they had to leave there house, and it would be fine to take a thyroid pill to block some of the radiation. That scares me somewhat that my government (GO USA!) needs us to sign something because they way of attaining energy isn't fully developed and serious negative affects may occur. The other issue is that the plants need to be located near a source of water. This plant is on the Mississippi river. Now, the plant is fairly new, and my parents can remember a time where they could go downriver of the site, and catch fish. They also didn't have to battle algae, or a horrible smell. The cooling water they constantly dump into the river makes it 10+ degrees above the rest of the river, all year long.
The other source of power, the wind mill, as some call it, is quiet, and I don't have to worry about it exploding or melting down.
Personally, I don't really care I live near a Nuclear power plant, but I'm just giving everyone my .20
